The sum total of the in game connections for Portal/H-L is a couple lines of dialogue/song lyrics, and a large boat, and outside the games the first Portal was available with H-L2 as part of the orange box package, but so was Team Fortress 2... Also because Half-life isn't in the title/any of the advertising materials so users who haven't played the H-L series would miss the connection entirely and look under P rather than H, and then dump portal in the misc section. so... I started trying my hand at drabbles again, using the user prompt yukihime posted as a starting point. Think I can do one for the second prompt, too, also in the ol' HP setting. The first one, Scurrilous, is a word I've pretty much only encountered in relation to journalism so it made sense using it in that contect with the prompt, an an in universe abusive article... I figure. Anyway, enough rambling, Spiral Breeze reviewed it, Wow, really? Thanks! I haven't tried a drabble for ages, so any poetic merit is entirely accidental.

I think what you'd need to do there is post just the story in the archive, plus up to 600 words of author's note. As part of the note, create and link to a thread in the relevent section of the forum here. In that forum thread you could post all of the non story material/background info for your readers to refer to(kind of an appendix I suppose?), as it is okay for that stuff to be in the forum database but not the stories archive database, including character profiles and so on. You can just have a note at the start of the story for people to keep the forum thread open on another tab and flip between the two as required. Basically the purpose is to keep the story archive more managably sized, and the easiest way to do this is the keep it for stories only. Requests, challenges, discussions, yakking about our stories, review replies and the rest comes here in the forum. Disclaimer - I think stories based on that type of RPG would go in video games/rpgs catagory as they have White Wolf RPGs in there. So if it was under games it would need the standard format disclaimer that you don't own Vincent Baker's Poison'd: A Pirate RPG or make any money from it. Translations - beats me. Not sure on the policy of including translations within stories. Probably a FAQ on it, but as a barely even monolingual individual it's all a bit beyond me. Once again, when the timezone spins round I expect one of the mods'll be able to point you to a FAQ or something covering it

Most of that is answered through the TOS, Content Guidelines and FAQs Adult Content - Is allowed as long as it doesn't involve underage real people/celebrities. Ahh, Ending the Fan, the Elder Scrolls story that started as a way to do an Ending Prompt without physically killing something (my imagination is surprisingly limited....) and grew at the urging of Mistress S, a reader whose suggestions seemed to have worked well when written up and added on. I've received a new review on this story from Daye: Thanks for your review! There's still time for her to do carry it out in a future part, when the Bosmer's loosened up some. I've got parts 4 and 5 to write out following discussions with/great suggestions from Mistress S, and they certainly do get a little weirder still. frittle - I don't know how accurate it is, but when I used my my creaky old word processor to word-count my author's note to make sure it wasn't a rule breacher, from Author's to JD inclusive it was 100 words. The Embrocation prompt - Lady Cassandra's Erotic Embrocation - I was *this* close to writing another Harry/Minerva story. Erotic massage and so on. My aim is to write the five stories that would get them a pairing catagory. Then do the same for Dobby/Giant Squid. Ahem. Lady C appeared very early on in the Doctor Who revival and had a follow up episode, and she really was pretty damn snobbish and, basically, thoroughly evilly unpleasant. I think it was while I was skulling around TVtropes I saw something 'minded me that a) she's mostly just skin and b) needs moisturising. Seemed appropriate. Um. Only downside is doing two stories for the same fandom in a row on the prompts. Ahh well, 29 bloody weeks I was already getting repetitive. 29 flashfics, plus a few other things I have managed... except for the under-a-fortnight in which I wrote my great big assed movie crossover this has probably been my most productive period as a writer... Um. again. Review replies. Thank you for your review - Probably a shame that when you finally grit your teeth and tried something I wrote it was sheet-of-skin bukkake. It is nice to have a character for an embrocation prompt for whom constant moisturising is a must. Another alternative was BtVS's Balthazar in a Faith/Buffy threesome. That would actually have been less appealing for many readers. She is manipulative, and snobby, and evil but also kinda sympathetic towards the end of the follow up episode. Also, the twist wouldn't be a surprise to anybody who can remember the episode dialogue, but for everyone else, thanks I am glad it works well
