  1. I was having a bit of a discussion recently about feature creep with these things, how you gotta draw a line and say no, not exploring that, it’s already X words let’s just get it finished! You could always save it for a “Domme Maria Side Story” oneshot 😛 There’s something about NYC isn’t there? I went myself, years ago. Looking out from the Empire State Building viewing deck, or out over the water at the statue of liberty, or the Brooklyn Bridge, or Time’s Square, or a guy with his pants around his ankles shooting up in Washington Square Park… it’s all so much like the movies it is unreal. They’re doing a bang up job of preserving it from the pictures I saw! It’s great for a city to have some good public spaces like that. The ghost’s originally from an earlier time, right? Been a while since I read the first parts. Must have been a hell of a nice surprise to find porn didn’t have to be cheap books or woodcuts! Oh, yeah, absolutely! There’s a buncha stuff you can do in stories or even with special effects or whatever in shows that doesn’t fly in real life. Was just a random thought tbh, I probably shouldn’t even have mentioned it. Saving the best for last – a fine tradition! Will get onto the next chapter as soon as I have enough free time.
  2. Easy to do, and hopefully was an easy fix! Unlike that time I added an extra space to some code and, long story short, there’s a piece of land nobody can walk on for millions of years until the background radiation drops.
  3. Possibly just a firefox issue again, but I was just trying different subdomains from the menu and for some reason the “Marvel Verse” link under “books / comics / manga” doesn’t bring anything up. I noticed hovering over the others has a box at the bottom side of the screen with the domain link, but I don’t see one for marvel. Within my profile when I look at stories I see one story shows under “Xmen” but on the archive menu at the top under comics the menu drop down which doesn’t work for me says “marvel verse” instead. Everything else seems to be working! Figured I’d flag it in case either anyone else had it, or it wasn’t known about.
  4. Could use an actual Fight Club quote! “do I give you the ass or the crotch?" heh. Ignore me. Good luck with it though, sounds like there’s potential! I’ve done a rough chapter 4 on mine and into an even rougher chapter 5. These things end up longer than expected sometimes!
  5. ...eh, haven’t had a whole lot of ‘em. One of mine was so unhappy it inspired another writer to write both a oneshot really exploring the misery and a multiparter to give the plucky heroine a more upbeat fate. How’s about you. Favor the happily ever after?
  6. I don’t think I read that one, but a quick google suggests it was a Girls Behind Bars type story? There’s always a lot of room for new stories in that environment. I’d probably mess it up and instead end up with it all far too cheerful and non sexual. The Buffy version of 1970s British Sitcom Porridge. Naffy the Vampire Slayer. I’ll see myself out
  7. One time I got into a really fowl mood and wrote that Naruto turned into a chicken story. I tried. They stopped me, shook their heads, said “Write what you know.”
  8. ...well, damn, that does make much more sense. In my defence poetry critical thinking is waaaaaaay down my ability scale. Also normal critical thinking. Some might even say just thinking. Makes sense. You just don’t tend to think hiring one would be a good idea until you’re turning the Earth for potatoes and whoops there’s a plague ridden femur. I liked it, but I also have a soft spot for the original Scary Movie too No worries!
  9. Ah shucks, that kinda thing might chip away at my deep seated self loathing!
  10. Oh, it’ll be that newfangled alt.sex.stories over on that usenet I expect. I’ll get my 56k modem out and soon be speeding down the information superhighway! JayDee, never managed to summon a dragon, but did attract a drake with a dropped sandwich by the river.
  11. I’ve been out of fanfic so long I don’t even know what the other website is anymore It were livejournal, long ago…
  12. I went and re-cleared all the cache and the rest of it again and that seems to have done it – originals showing now Thank you again!
  13. You shouldn’t have to apologize for anything! You’re doing great work, nobody was sitting here expecting it all to be 100% through straight away I am sure Thanks for all the effort and work!
  14. When logged out The bar just shows “Home” “Fanfiction” and “Forum” options without originals option – When logged in it also has eg Account drop downs you don’t get logged out. I wonder if it’s something to do with the way Firefox is loading the bar when logged out? I just logged out, originals disappeared, logged back in, there it was!
  15. Heya, I’ve cleared absolutely everything for all time, restarted, and went to log in – got an error message on log in, but then I was seemingly logged in anyway as I could see my control panel. The only real issue I have noticed is that when not logged in, the “Originals” domain does not show on the archives menu at all for me – It showed the anime, and books comics manga, then a list from Buffy to Television – Tried that on Firefox and Edge. Then I logged in, and suddenly the originals link was showing above the “anime” link on the archive drop down menu. So I logged out, cleared everything again, went back… no originals link on the menu again! I can send you screencap if it would help, though I expect someone already mentioned it on beta. I know you are all busy working on it so just dropping the two things I noticed here and running :) It’s all looking good and the new functionality sounds amazing, and I am grateful for all the work you’ve all put into it.
  16. Huh, I’d genuinely just thought Rex was just a Malinois doing Malinois things! Fair enough. Ah, so it’s not just the bitches in heat with Hellhounds! 😛
  17. More time to rule as Queen of the Mall!
  18. Yep, basically. I remember some of the one shots ended up getting sequels – I think mine re-used characters – but were all generally self contained. Great then, thank you for the ruling
  19. Sea caves can go quite a long way underground, right? Like, even under the shore... I mean, yeah, there’s gotta more of a chance than I thought of ‘em hooking up Stay off the seabed, Darri! That’s where they play! Don’t end up a juice box!
  20. After getting a chunk of writing done, took a break to read the stories and poem in the collection. Left reviews for @InvidiaRed @GeorgeGlass and @BronxWench since I don’t think you get notifications on chapters. But no review for @InBrightestDay because The Lake House didn’t get finished. “If you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding. How can you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?” 😛 I kid, I kid, I will read and review it when you get it finished! Hey, while I’m here, can anybody remember – if we had a story in one of the holiday collections at some point, was there any rule against re-posting it to our own profile while it was still there, or would that be afoul of some duplication rule and we’d need to delete our chapter before re-posting to our own? Asking for a me, who should know better.* Jaydee. *I really did know this shit once.** **Some of it*** ***Maybe.
  21. I am right there with you on a presumed resurgence. If it has any success at all there’ll be all the fanworks for the new series, but also a lot of the new generation of fans will be streaming the old stuff too, and so it’s just gotta lead to more scooby goodness! My memory is somewhat hazy, but there’s absolutely collaborative stories on here. InBrightestDay and I have a non-sex story up we jointly wrote with some of his pre-existing OCs (and some new collaboration specific ones), but that was all posted in one go. There’s functionality though for what they called Round Robin stories, where someone started it and then someone else puts in another chapter and so on. I’ve mostly seen it used on the holiday anthologies they do, with everyone having a different chapter for the theme, but it’s absolutely there for ongoing story collabs too. Probably one that would do best if the fandom resurgence happens and it suddenly gets a lot busier over there I can’t imagine those stories don’t run into issues sometimes whether it’s because one writer favours a specific ship that another is really turned off by, or just not having strict enough pre-agreed content guidelines so someone’s slipping in scat or whatever. “Chocolate Brownie?” “Oh, no, not after last chapter. You aren’t catching me out again.” “Oh, fine, have a glass of lemonade. Wash your mouth out.” “...it’s warm. Why is it warm?” And the worst thing is when someone adds a chapter that’s just straight plagiarized. When I was going through my reviews the other day, deleting all the spammed bot links, I saw a negative review from someone for apparently stealing another story – the reviewer didn’t seem to care mine had been posted 10 years before the ‘stolen’ one – And I remembered that in in that case somoene had changed the names from my original and then pasted in as a chapter in an ongoing collab “choose your own adventure” on another site. That kind of thing makes it hard for me to trust folks in fanfic sometimes
  22. Taking another quick look at the first couple pages on the main subdomain – I see your stories! – there’s been relatively few updates – stories on page 2 were last update in 2020 so at this stage I think the remaining fans would settle for being whelmed in any capacity! Ooh! Willow finds an online D&D group and plays a goblin? Called Glur- ahem. No, I mean I assume group snuggling. I’m thinking I’ll check it out once I’m doing working the challenge, mostly so I don’t think “Shit! I wish I’d thought of that!” or worse end up inadvertantly ripping it off. It’s not actually my idea though @julpups heya, had you seen Deadman’s Willow group story mentioned there? Could well be something close to your literary vision has already been realised
  23. And you’ve already written the line for when Glurk’s fans are cheering on a more public display: “Glurk! Glurk! Glurk!” Don’t worry if you don’t get around to it. I look forward to whatever you’re working on! I’m sure it’ll be great
  24. Ah well, I have to actually finish it first. But Julpups had a dream, a dream to see Willow getting cocked more times than Davy Crockett’s rifle, and left with a face like a painter’s radio, and in possession of an exceptionally well-travelled hershey highway, (admittedly, the challenge was not expressed in quite those terms, Julups being a somewhat higher-class individual than me), and it is now my hope to actually succeed in finishing what I started! That all babbled, if you’re a Buffy fan and like the sound of the idea, you could probably take the challenge and do a better and quicker job than me. It looks like the subdomain’s been a bit quiet of late, so I am sure any new contributions would be good ones. Although when the new series happens it’ll hopefully get busier. I haven’t really been to check it out myself for years, I only just got back into fanfiction mindsets recently.
  25. Ah, well, if they were a scammer I feel less bad about raising it! Thank you for looking into it. Looks like I missed a a couple: https://naruto.adult-fanfiction.org/review.php?set=read&no=600107091 https://lotr.adult-fanfiction.org/review.php?set=read&no=600081641 Does the new software stop ‘em doing more or is it just a case of keeping an eye out?
