So, I now have three things that are on the cusp of being ready: my Halloween story “The Ultimate,” “The Big Brothers Club,” and the latest chapter of “Master Plan.” I hope to get “The Ultimate” done and posted tomorrow, and the others soon thereafter.

Chapter 3 of “Developed” is off to beta. Now I am focusing primarily on finishing my Halloween story, “The Ultimate.” It’s a medieval (or maybe pre-medieval) fantasy about two women who go into the woods on “The Eve” for some fun they couldn’t have any other night of the year. FYI, I'm planning to do NaNoWriMo this year, which means that I'll be slowing down on my smut writing during November. But I will at least work on my in-progress stories—“Master Plan,” “Red All Over,” and “Developed”—during that time. Before November, I’m hoping to finish “The Big Brothers Club.” This will be a long, round-robin, rather rapey one-shot furry story about a group of teenage boys who bring their younger siblings to their “clubhouse” on Friday nights to be used by the other teens. Even thought it’s a single story, I’ve been writing it in 4 separate documents because it was hard to keep the 4 plot threads straight in my head when I had them in 1 document. I’m using this same approach with my Glitch Techs story “Retro,” which will also be a long, round-robin one-shot.

Thanks for “sidequel”; I’d never heard that before. I’m sure Randy will be plowing Opal doggystyle at some point near the end of the story.

I think I would not rehash Opal and Evie’s visit to Randy and Rose’s house, but I might conclude the story with a scene set after that (but before the events of “A Little Family Trip”). Black Canary is a good comparison for Opal’s body type. Now I’m going to have to have her wear black fishnet stockings at some point. Now here’s a question: If a sequel is a story set after the original and a prequel is set before the original, what do you call a story that takes place at the same time as the original?

So, the next things I’m trying to finish are chapter 3 of “Developed” and my Halloween one-shot story, to be titled “The Ultimate.” Also, notes for a couple of people: Lesles, I watched the first episode of “Gaki Ni Modotte Yarinaoshi,” and dang, it was hot. Also, the subtitles were in Spanish, which I’ve been studying, so it was educational. Star Wars Player 1, I mulled over your idea about doing a story about how Opal and Evie’s sex life got started, and the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea. So I’ve started outlining that story. It will be in first-person from Opal’s perspective, so it will have the same format as “Little Rose.”

I’ve got a story in the works; hope to finish it in the next 10 days or so.

I use profanity frequently in sex scenes, for two reasons: --My sex scenes are more often about lust than love. --I’m a great devotee of dirty talk in sex scenes. On the second point, though, my friend and beta Jomahawk recently gave me some sage advice: If one or both of the characters are capable of speaking full, uninterrupted sentences during sex, it suggests that they aren’t having that good a time. So now I try to be mindful of that.

I’m pleased to say that chapter 1 of my Turning Red fic “Red All Over” has gone off to beta. Chapter 2 of “Developed” should be beta-ready some time next week, and the first half of “Cowboys and Indians” should be ready soon after that. The next chapter of “Master Plan” still needs a decent amount of work, but it’s coming along.

Yeah, I wrote a Star Vs. the Forces of Evil fic during the long-ish hiatus between seasons 1 and 2 that ended up being very non-canon. I added a note at the beginning letting readers know about that and advising them to think of the story as an alternate version of season 2.

The end of a show can be a huge plot-bunny generator. It frees you to take the characters in any direction you want without any danger of your story being AUed by something that happens in canon later on.

My first such story was 23 pages (and about 8,000 words). The two that I’m working on right now I’m not sure about, because each of them is split up into separate documents by subplot; later, I’ll put them all back together according to the outline. I’m finding this easier than having them all in the same document.
