  1. For me to look up your story, I need the title and the subdomain. Without those, I can't help you.
  2. A few things to do here, actually. 1. REMOVE any extra lines in between your paragraphs, as the paragraph tag automatically inserts a line after. 2. <p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US></span></p> change that tag to this - <p></p> and remove the span tag entirely. 3. Remove the division tag that is left as well. <div></div> If you want visible line separators, use <hr> Hope that helps.
  3. Performed a minor forum update, on Thursday. In the process, confirmed a bug and reported it to IPB. See this bug in our own tracker. I'm hoping they fix this quickly, so I can re-enable the rich text editor.
  4. When saving in html, you HAVE to strip out the extra tag options in a text editor. As to allowing uploads in other formats, with word being prone to viral attachments, I don't ever see it being included as an upload option. For that matter, once I can figure out how to add in an rtf editor, I expect that uploading files will be an option that will be removed.
  5. Actually, old stories are not instantly deleted. That's the new adds. The pre-existing ones, before the clean up, I move. You bring up a valid point, in that the Star Wars comic might be best with the rest of the Star Wars movies stuff. Except I am trying my damnedest not to have to move a ton of stuff. LOL. I'll look at it, and see where it works in overall structure of things, because if I move Star Wars (EU) stuff, that's going to involve cartoons, comics, and games as well (the subdomains). As to the disclaimer, when it's in a subdomain involving many titles, you disclaim it by the title, and you're fine.
  6. If you've not created an archive login (which is separate), and linked to it, we delete those from the forum admin validation queue. If you don't want to have an archive login, normally those users email me to tell me why they want to use the forum alone. As I already KNOW that you want to work as a beta, I'd pass you through at this point. Also, you do have to self validate before getting in to the admin queue.
  7. Where the author has stated openly it's up for grabs and they have no intentions of finishing it but someone else can, that's a different sort of thing entirely. Generally, MOST users will still contact the author who put the story up for grabs and get permission anyway. Now, for something like this, if the author who put it up for grabs is a user here, what I'd like to do (and have done a time or two), is once someone has taken the story on, transfer the story to the new author's account from the original author. I LEAVE the user info in the chapters that already exist, but the control for the story then goes to the person who continues it. Even still, the time or two I've done this, the users in question have emailed me, with the permission given to take over the story from the one, while the other informs me that they've asked and gotten permission as well.
  8. What happened to create the issue, was a near unrecoverable database crash 5 years ago. So, not only will one see garbled text, the other oddball thing that happens (which is a variant of the wordord problem) is that where the author had originally added the chapter as an html file upload, the tags were partially duplicated when the data corrupted. The parser sees that as incomplete tags. When that happens, anything below the incomplete tag won't even display. I have to correct the tag, in order for the rest of a chapter to display where this is an issue. Of course, in current stories, where authors have accidentally left incomplete tags, it's a simple matter for that user to go back and check the chapter data, and make corrections where necessary.
  9. There are instructions on how to input data for password retrieval directly below the blank fields. You have two ways to do this. In the user name field, you in put your login name, and click "forgot password" In the user name field, you in put your email, and click "forgot password" There's no separate field for the email address to be entered. The function does not tell you if it's sent mail to you. The mail is sent instantly when this is executed. However, given that it's a php app that SENDS the mail, mail handlers OFTEN stick that sent mail in to spam/junk folders, so if you don't see it in your inbox, check there as well.
  10. beginning of story, paragraph, or whichever you're wanting indented; and then close the tag at the end of the part where you want the indent.
  11. The archive functions more optimally by allowing the autowrap to work. Having said that, though, what you do is use a container tag. <blockquote> text </blockquote> That indents on both sides. If you want more of an indent than one does, you nest them. i.e. <blockquote><blockquote> text </blockquote></blockquote> It'll take a little experimenting on your part, but you should be able to figure out how many will get you the desired results. I'd say at a guess it would be 3.
  12. toasted
  13. hehe, it gets better. It was a kiddie I'd nuked earlier, coming back
  14. It already is. You have to use the advanced searching options.
  15. Like I said, even with subject matter I wasn't comfortable with, I read it anyway. Talent shows, regardless of content.
  16. In those for instances, you can email me (all my emails are in my archive profile). I'll contact the author, saying you wish to get in touch with 'em, and if you like even send them your email address while doing that.
  17. lol...suure. Obscene amounts of money, right? yeah, that would be nice, wouldn't it? Not likely though... Anyway, I think it's cool we made a list!
  18. Some of it, apparently so. Other parts, not so much.
  19. Very likely because the file name is more than 15 characters. Those I delete every couple of days.
  20. Your user ID is there. If you were trying to retrieve your password, that is a known bug we're working on. I used a different utility to send you your password
  21. What we're after are the fandom names, which you've done. The additional character disclaims are not necessary, but you can leave them if you want to. Now, all you have to do is delete the review left by the mod regarding the disclaimer.
  22. Me being the way I am, which is very, very blunt; there are damn good reasons why if I don't leave a review, it's because I can't find a polite way to do so. You know, leaving concrit doesn't mean one has to be rude or harsh, although I'm sure I've come across that way in past where I have left concrit, because I AM so damn blunt.
  23. Certainly. What you need to do, is name the comic book titles, not the characters. That's what the problem is. I think you'd probably be best off naming Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Batman and the Outsiders as the fandoms involved. That SHOULD cover where the characters come from.
  24. Yes you did. The content which was considered a poll is not there anymore. So you've fixed it.
