Deletion of underagers has been in place since the site's inception.

Well, you may have been inspired by the other fic, but, as long as you're not using any part of it, or referencing it (other than maybe saying that this gave you an idea or something like that), I don't see a problem. Where the problems come in, is when people state that it's not just inspired by xx story, but is using xx stories characters, writing an alternate scene, etc. THOSE need permission.

I've tried all the different skins, and am having no trouble. What browser are you using?

Okay, that one I do remember. You were underage at the time of posting the stories. So, because the content was posted prior to then, it had to be deleted.

First of all, before I can even TELL you why it would've been deleted, I'd need to know your pen name. Second, if it was deleted a few years ago (before August 2008) none of us would've been the ones to have done so. Third, once records are removed from the database, they're permanently deleted.

You're sure this was in originals and not maybe an AU AnK story? You wouldn't happen to remember any part of the author's pen name, would you?

The point here, is that the user was under age when the account was created. That means that she got deleted even though she had turned 18 before we found her. THAT doesn't matter. What matters is the age she was at time of registration. Thing is, this is clearly stated everywhere. There's a splash page which says you must be 18 or older, there's a page where you have to fill out your birthday information, there are even the RTA (Restricted To Adult) labels, both visible and in the meta information throughout the archive. It's not like it hasn't been made ABUNDANTLY clear any where you want to look, that this site is restricted to users 18 and older. Sure, she can repost now that she's old enough. That's perfectly fine. The point YOU seem to be missing, is the age issue to begin with. She knowingly used the site as an underager. There are consequences to that. There always have been. Have a question, how is it that deletion is being confused with a ban? It's not the same thing.

Well, what I do to confirm the obvious dupes is search the db by email. Often, because the archive doesn't send a confirmation mail, people will think they weren't registered, and then REregister. Now, when they reregister with identical information, that actually causes them problems in trying to login and use the archive. I generally hear about those right away and from the users themselves. In any case, as it's not the pen name itself that's unique, this is why you see many with an identical pen name.

Just like I told Fairy Slayer, you need to clear cache and cookies, it'll reset and you'll be fine.

Explain what you mean by "security codes"? No don't think it's a time out issue, but more a security setting I tightened up. But, without knowing what codes and/or errors you get, EXACTLY, I haven't a clue where to look.

It could very have something to do with the library's filtering options which you've apparently *ahem* bypassed.
