  1. The existing user directions wouldn't work in this case, so that wouldn't need to be pursued. Just for the sake of trying it, can you erase the cookies and clear the cache and browsing history, close your browser all the way, restart it, and try logging in using the upper right hand fields? If this doesn't work, I'll need to ask our tech admin for a bit of guidance, since I can't see what's happening within the database itself. (Only she has that access to protect the data.)
  2. Can you list the steps you're taking? I know that sounds silly, but sometimes, when you step it out, it helps identify where the issue is for me, since I don't have direct database access. I do show you as registered, but from what I can see, the system doesn't show you as having actually logged in, so you're not mistaken there. What I can't tell is where it's failing. My best guesses would be that you weren't using the upper right hand fields, or that there was an issue with the password. It needs to be at least 8 letters or numbers long, no special characters allowed, and it's case sensitive, so any capital letter used when creating it needs to always be used. Finally, make sure your browser has third party cookies enabled, since the site does set cookies. Bear with us, and we'll figure this out.

I don't know the fandom, or most of what's on television these days, and I write mainly original work these days. I was asking from the moderator POV, actually, and not because I was looking to take a challenge. Sorry!
  4. You need to use the upper right hand fields, not the center fields.
  5. At the author's option, anonymous reviews can be disabled. This can be done quite handily from the Control Panel, in the Edit Profile section, where a click-button appears labelled Anonymous Reviews. It's a Yes/No dropdown. This will require readers to be logged in to an AFF archive profile to leave reviews if the anonymous reviews are disabled/set to No. It is likely to cut down on the offensive reviews.. However, if the author chooses not to disable the anonymous reviews, we can only conclude that the author doesn't mind the nastygrams, and we won't take any action other than suggesting the author delete the offensive reviews himself.
  6. Oh, the poor lass! I would never have expected corns, really. But she is very lucky to have you as her owner, because she'll get the very best of care.
  7. The Hobbit is part of our Lord of the Rings subdomain, either under the Lord of the Rings movies sub-category, or under one of the book-related sub-categories, depending on your source. Pairings categories are not created unless there are at least 5 existing stories for that pairing.
  8. I'm seeing the same avatar as you're using here. However, I think the problem lies with the archive not accepting a link from AWS. I link mine in from a free account with Photobucket, and have no issues for forum or archive.
  9. Is the link hosted on a site like Photobucket, or another image archiving site? I'm fairly sure you can't use an image from your hard drive for the archive.
  10. As we've said in the news announcements and elsewhere, the Comics subdomain experienced an issue when we updated the coding language. Our tech administrator, DemonGoddess061, needs to go into the database and manually restore data to the affected stories. This is a time-consuming process, and her real life job has to take precedence, so we ask that our readers please be patient.
  11. Link for above: Guilty as Sin by Riffraff
  12. The Comics subdomain experienced an issue with the recent updates, and our tech admin is busy fixing the truncated data. However, this is a manual fix and can't be scripted, and means she needs to work directly in the database. It takes time, so be patient with us. Thanks!

The story in question was removed from the archive.
  14. For the archive, it's yyyy-mm-dd, so for example, January 1, 1990 is entered as 1990-01-01. For the forum, I do believe it's optional, but it's generally entered via dropdown menus, if memory serves.
  15. Harry Potter has an entire subdomain: http://hp.adult-fanfiction.org/index.php We don't use the Books subdomain for anything Harry Potter related. You should be able to find a category in our Harry Potter subdomain for your story, however.
  16. I like the idea of an aphrodisiac being delivered, actually.
  17. Whore by SlythernPrincess
  18. Guilty as Sin by Riffraff (Just because this is AFF, and we have stories here, too. Really.)
  19. Okay, I've run off and bought it! And I LOVE the cover!
  20. Legolas will absolutely get himself into trouble. He is so perfectly Thranduilion, after all. But I do look forward to seeing what the reasons are for Thranduil's situation, as well as seeing the three lovely elves get down to some delectable games together. I'm perfectly happy to have it unwind at its own pace, because I'm enjoying every minute of the journey.
  21. Oh, I'm quite sure Erestor will have things well in hand. He's not cruel, even if he is demanding, and he doesn't ask more than the twins can give. He's quite superb, actually. And if the next chapter is one of your favorites, I'm going to adore it.
  22. Courtesy of the brilliant and extraordinary Dafdes: Dear God, grant me the serenity to accept those things that are not TOS violations, the courage to read through fiction that probably has missing tags somewhere, and the wisdom to know I'm here because I write shocking and socially unacceptable pornography too.

someonenotme removed all her stories from the Internet.
  24. Hi! Yes, you can create the rewrite version. Just label it as such, either a bracketed mention in the summary, or in the title itself. As long as we know it's a rewrite, we don't treat it as a duplicate story. Update the new version, and when you've finished rewriting the chapters, let us know so we can merge the hit count data and reviews from the old version to the new version. They won't overwrite any of the new reviews, so you keep old and new, and the count data should be combined, as I understand it. That's been my experience, anyway. Thanks!
  25. It's my understanding that some form of ratings system is in the works, although it will not be the same as it was in the past, to prevent the abuses we've seen with a truly anonymous system. I don't know the timing, however.
