We’re actually very happy to have authors interact with readers. We just don’t want it happening on the review boards of the archive, when we have forum threads for this very purpose. Forum registration, like archive registration, requires validation. Either the admins have not processed your registration yet, or you haven’t responded to the validation email. I will say that one of the things that can delay a registration is incomplete information, like not including your archive url. I can’t check that if you’re logged in as a guest. If you’d posted from the forum account you created, I could check for you. If you have any questions as a new member, please ask. We’re always happy to answer.

Okay, I’m done here. I am hiding the flame-baiting responses, and locking this thread. TheDogSage, I approached you via email to see if we could settle this down, because we actually have something called Terms of Service here at AFF. Really. And even more astonishing, we expect our members to comply with it. So, for all the challenged out there, which apparently includes you, let me quote it: “You agree to conduct yourself in a responsible, mature manner on the site. This means that you will remain polite and respectful to all users, staff, admins and owners and will not 'flame' other users.” Now I’m not sure how much clearer this could be, and I expect everyone involved, starting with the author of the story and including anyone who wishes to review it, whether from their AFF profile or not, to act like the adults you are all supposed to be. There will be no flame-baiting on the forums, and I am going to ask my admin to clean the review board. Further instances will result in the story being hidden for violating the Terms of Service, to wit, encouraging a flame war on the boards. We may not censor content, but we will enforce the site’s Terms of Service.

If you have any ideas for characters/scenarios, WAIT until a discussion thread is made. The review boards aren’t a polling site, and I’m sure no one wants a warning from a moderator.

We actually discourage the sharing of files here, and while this isn’t a fiction file, you might want to consider that copyright violations isn’t limited solely to fiction.

Hi, I’m going to assume this is you: Capitalist Assuming that your email address has not changed, I show your last access back in 2012, and it appears you never activated under the revised archive code. What you need to do is reactivate your account. Follow the instructions here, exactly as they’re stepped out. I would strongly recommend deleting any old AFF cookies, and clearing your browser’s cache and history before reactivating. If you run into any issues, you can let us know here, or email us at tos_team@adult-fanfiction.org. Please be as specific as possible about what you’ve done, and what has happened, so we can pinpoint any issues.

That’s a slippery slope for us. We are a fan fiction archive, and not an indie publishing press, and we steer very clear of anything involving the exchange of funds even though we do allow original fiction and nonfiction to be posted to the archive. Work written on paid commission becomes the property of the person for whom it was written. Given that you accepted payment, our Terms of Service would prohibit your posting that work under your account. Similarly, the person who commissioned the work could not post it, because it is not their work, any more than a novel I purchased for my Kindle would be mine for the purposes of posting it online. Of course, if our admins differ, they’ll let us both know, but that has been my understanding for as long as I’ve been moderating here.
