  1. Unless the reviewer has a forum account, and therefore access to our PM system, no. We don't permit replies to reviews on the review board itself, and the only other option I can suggest, if your reader doesn't want to follow a url to the forums, would be to place a very brief reply to that review at the end of the next chapter of your story. I stress brief here, because we have a limit on the length of author's note content allowed in a chapter, and such notes can't total more than 600 words. We do check that, and we do warn a member if heir author's notes exceed the limit. I would further suggest any note contain the url to the forum review reply thread for your story. Your readers do not need to be forum members to read or reply on the thread you make, and it's much easier to have a lively conversation here rather than in the archive itself.
  2. Hi, Lomonaaeren! Can you give me a link to the story? I'll see if I can duplicate the issue. I just tried now, and I can see the list of categories, and can select from them.
  3. I found a really neat crossbow. I always wanted to try a crossbow...
  4. That's because I was away. I'm back now, so don't get too comfy...
  5. Check your profile now. Our coder, now that the tags have been migrated to their new separate field, was able to complete the reintegration of stats in the profiles. As I've said to others innumerable times, patience, young padawan.
  6. You can see it, as the author, but no one else should be able to see it other than staff.
  7. Links for above: A Land of Gods and Kings by Alasdair-you
  8. Yes, we will add a search by tag option, but I can't give you an exact time frame for when that will be implemented.
  9. It is most definitely on our coder's to-do list, yes. I just don't have a time frame for you.
  10. Hey, George. They've been read only since 2012, when we began to roll out the archive updates. The profile bios were not editable, and it was no longer possible to add anything to the recommended reading section. We will get stats back on the profile page. It's just a lesser priority than making sure people can access, add, and edit the stories themselves. Patience, padawan...
  11. Um... Kamal, anyone? You two are neck in neck for heartless, although Pip has elves and Jack. It's a slight edge over Bosnian assassins with amputated souls.
  12. Oh, CL, beware the Torchwood fics... they're what got me hooked on Pip's writing.
  13. Yes, we're very much aware of the issue. It's a very quick and simple fix that the authors can do themselves. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to write a script that will do it globally, without creating additional complications. But having had a few tags glitch in my own stories, I can say with all assurance that it takes under a minute to fix a story now.
  14. Scary, isn't it? All my MCD stories grew an MC. The updated story manager makes it fast, though, since tags are now in their own little field.
  15. The search function is not back yet. Our coder, manta2g, and DG are aware of the search issue. Be patient, and I'm sure it'll be back as quickly as possible.
  16. Nerys, thank you for letting us know. Codes have been migrated to a separate field, but it's not yet searchable, as far as I can tell. I have a few artifacts left in my stories as well, but in the Latest Stories pages, the codes are in their separate field. We just need to create the search field now. I'm pretty sure the missing "Herm" in Hermione is because we have a code, "herm" for hermaphrodite. If the codes were moved via a global search, that would do it. I'm pretty sure it's safe to fix the Hermione issue, and remove any lingering partial tags from the summary field. When you edit the story details, check the new field for the story codes, and make sure you have the right tags. I suspect "bigotry" might have been moved as "bi".
  17. Hey, G! The hit counts are still on the top of the story, and it'll be back in the profile listings as soon as manta2g gets the big stuff tweaked. I think review counts will return to the profile listings too, but don't quote me on that. Hang in there, because this will be VERY cool when manta and DG finish.
  18. The review count data will be returning. The ratings will not, at least not in their former incarnation. However, the priority has been getting the actual database updated. Without that, there's nothing requiring a display of story stats. Be patient, and we'll get things tweaked, once we know the major functions are working as intended.
  19. That first profile format was discontinued back in 2012. It exists as a read-only document at the moment, but will be going away altogether at some point.
  20. It's disabled access to all stories. Our coder needs to do this in order to properly roll out the new code. Please be patient. I think the new features being implemented will be worth a couple of days of disruption.
  21. I struggle with it as well, because all the guides, and blogs, and editors seem to adhere so firmly to rules that strip writing of its voice, I think. I understand wanting to make things flow, and wanting to keep readers engaged, but I'm learning when I need to put my foot down, and insist that my voice remain intact. Otherwise, I'm just a ghostwriter, and someone else can put their name on the cover.
  22. The focus will be on getting the main site running properly. Once we've gotten the main site fully updated, and everything has been tweaked, at that point DG might be able to work on mobile skins. But that project will not happen right away, so hang in there...
