    Update! Story display is now in the new code, and you can now from within a story one click add a story to your current reading or recommended reading. You can also now delete current reading or recommended reading stories from your profile.

    That awkward moment when you see a “Report notification” for the first time in weeks and think to yourself “Oh, there’s someone reporting something.” and then it creeps up on you… I am the moderator and it’s my job to deal with that. (We're not mentioning that I’m also the one who made the damned spam report!)

    @WillowDarkling While I don’t know the details of this website’s code, I did try my hand at PHP & SQL & Web ages ago, so that’s enough to handle the more generic questions, relieve Manta of that extra burden. I can also try barking at those not leaving her the space needed to get it done?

    It is slowly creeping back to life. I don’t have a definite eta, but I’ve been on a roll of releasing sections every few days. Today, stories along with the ability to manage recommendation and current reading just rolled out. Next is reviews, and then the story manager (Authors have been waiting on this one).

    With software, it can be counter productive to toss more people at it (ie too many cooks in the kitchen). Manta would suddenly become a manager, having to get them up to speed, coach, etc; that’d take her away from actually fixing the issue. If we were already trained, worked well together, then yes, using us might make it go faster. Better to step back and make sure she’s not too stressed out.

    Given the nature of the issue (SQL Injection), a fair chunk of the website’s PHP script SQL bindings have to be rewritten, parameterizing and seriously sanitizing all user input. Typos will happen, part of the process, I’m afraid.

    It’s pretty bad, but I’m not going to call troll yet, unless the author posts a bunch more stories exactly like that one, especially in more than one fandom. Then I’d call it trollery for sure. The review, however, is gone.
