  1. @Desiderius Price I know you tag as conservatively as I do. I figured it never hurts to point out the logical fallacy in the “But I’ll scare off readers!” argument for not using the Rape tag.

  2. @BronxWench I tend to overtag my stories, just to be cautious and to avoid the hassle. My comment earlier was speculation as to one reason, another being a thought of “I’ll never write X” as a self-imposed restraint for whatever reason, and they start to stray to cross line of tag-or-not. @Mal This wouldn’t be AFF if we didn’t have the knack for going off topic.

    A Question of Consent

@Mal Your story’s fine, absolutely! And this was a good thread, with some really in-depth discussion. I enjoyed it! I’m just pointing out in response to @Desiderius Price that leaving off the tag so as not to scare off readers is going to backfire if we decide it’s required, because we hide stories with missing trigger tags like that. And, to be really honest, if the author doesn’t add that tag, it’s likely the story will be deleted after the 30-day period we allow for the correction to be made.

    A Question of Consent

I just wanted to say, my story has the rape tag… I didn’t start this thread to find some loophole to try and get out of including the tag. It was more of a philosophical question I was raising. As well as the question of whether or not each individual chapter, which I tag at the top before the story begins, should include the tag. There is no doubt in my mind that my story as a whole is in need of the tag, and, should properly warn people before they click on it, of the content contained within. Thanks again for all the responses! -Mal

    A Question of Consent

If the content calls for the tag and it’s not there, we hide the story which drastically cuts down on readership anyway.

  6. No, not in this fic. Although I’m a big fan of incest and have written other Loud House stories that involve it (“Whoops” and “The Loud House After Dark”), I’m not including any incest action in this one. Lincoln and Lola will be getting it on with someone, though; stay tuned to find out who.

  7. Here, I’ll post responses to reviews of my Steven Universe fic “Splinter.”

  8. You’re certainly allowed to list new tags/warnings under “other” if you need something more focused. In your [tent] example, I’d likely list it in the laundry list of tags at the top of the story, qualified as CYA, and leave it at that.

  9. Glad you’re liking it. And your comment gives me an idea, although maybe not the one you’re thinking of. Thanks for the note!

  13. Remain calm and breathe evenly. I’m working on the next chapter, but it could take a little while; partly because there are a lot of details to attend to, and partly because I have several other stories going at the same time.

  15. It's always difficult for me to say how long a story or chapter is going to take to finish. Being rather flighty, I always have a lot of stories in progress at once, and whenever I have time to write, I work on whichever one I feel most inspired to work on at that moment. (Other projects I've been making progress on lately include my original father-daughter incest fic “Make It All Better” and a new Loud House fanfic titled “The Miss Cutie Patootie Pageant.”) Although this means that I am always making progress on something, I can’t really commit to a time frame on any particular story. Also, I don't know how much time my beta will need to review the chapter when the draft is ready. All of that said, I hope to have the next chapter posted in the next couple of weeks. But I can’t guarantee anything.

  16. I could, but that wouldn’t be faithful to the character, which is what I’m all about. Luckily, there are plenty of other female characters to play with.

  17. I’ve never seen Soul Eater, so I’m not familiar with the fic. But yeah, “Splinter” is definitely a harem-type story. Thanks! Hope you’ll like it.

  18. Not your usual kind of story, eh? Glad you’re liking it anyway. I’m not sure which character you’re talking about. If you mean Mystery Girl (whom fans have nicknamed “Punk Diamond”), then no, I don’t have plans to involve her. Lip piercings are a big turnoff for me.

  21. Glad you liked it! I actually hadn’t seen that pic from Relatedguy until your comment compelled me to look for it on Rule34. The inspiration (for this chapter, at least) came from DoctorYnot’s Loud House fic “Make It Wit Chu,” in which Lincoln is serially sexually abused by each of his older sisters. Anyway, hope you’ll enjoy the next chapter just as much. Thanks for the comment!

  22. My delayed reply to a new review of Fistbump 2 ... Thanks, George. The Epilogue ending was my original plan for how to end this fic over two years ago when I planned it out. I was completely new to writing at the time, and I think I was overly cruel in my attitude towards anyone who would read it. To have the sequel to the story end with an even harder kick to the pills then the original story did seemed like a good idea at the time, but as time went on, I softened. I think this is a good compromise to make. Plus, as you indicate, there was the issue of continuing the story. I think there are probably many interesting directions that the “faustian bargain” conclusion could go. Only problem is that I’m terrible at imagining supernatural and fantasy angles, and for the life of me I couldn’t come up with anything to follow the Epilogue that wasn’t really trite and derivative. I do realism better, I think. So having the twins go home with the happy ending actually happen works better for me. As always, thank you for the detailed review. E-o-F

  23. Yes, it was a conscious choice that I made all the way back in April of 2015 that I wanted to make this fic dark and intense. True, I didn’t really know much about writing at that time, and next to nothing about fan service to an established fandom, so perhaps I went too far. But there actually was a good justification for something extreme to happen to Dipper at that point in the story: I wanted the parents to know that *something* had happened between the twins, but for there to be a logical reason for them to not press the kids for details. A traumatic event such as a major injury serviced this nicely. I have never had an issue with substance abuse and addiction, but I did enough research to hope that what I was writing was relatable. I’m glad some of it found its way through. E-o-F

  24. Fistbump 2 review again on the archive: As I've said before, the angst is really getting going to be ratcheted up in Chapters 7 and 8, which I've not yet published because, well, it's really, really angsty! I'm still working on making it bearable, but rest assured it won't be pretty for a couple of chapters. And at the risk of succumbing to "too much information" syndrome, let's just say that I've seen a lot of similarities to myself at a young age when I've looked at Dipper. His physical and/or behavioral failings are very much realistic for a late-blooming, introverted, neurotic young teenager. Maybe that doesn't make for the best porn story, but it is what it is as far as what I see happening to these characters, in this universe. Edward_or_Ford
