  1. “Multiversity” is now complete! I have just posted chapter 11. I have also posted some author notes in the review response thread for the story. Exhausted now. More news later.
  2. Author notes on “Multiversity” Note: Some of the comments below contain SPOILERS for the story. The “by George Glass, with Eh Steve” refers to the fact that although I did most of the writing, Eh Steve wrote chapter 1, and he and I worked together on outlining the plot and thinking up the different universes that Dipper visits. Among other things, the postapocalyptic universe where Dipper and Soos are dating AIs (J-Peg and Giffany 9.0) was entirely his idea. The mechanics of Dipper’s travel from one alternate self to another, and especially his unreliable “Swiss cheese” memory, were inspired by (read: shamelessly stolen from) the TV series Quantum Leap. Dipper’s saying “Oh boy” every time he lands in a new universe is an homage to that show, as well. Aphrodite’s look—a cheap, overly short leopard-print dress and spike heels on a body way too aged to pull them off—was inspired by a cocktail waitress I once encountered at a low-end strip club in Germany, as well as the Love God’s slovenly appearance in his titular episode. The title of chapter 1, “Into the Multiverse,” is borrowed from a Family Guy episode with the same title. “Spackler’s Underground Pest Poison” is named for Carl Spackler, the gopher-hating greenskeeper played by Bill Murray in Caddyshack. In Mexican cooking, “cabrito” refers to meat from a young goat. Because Gravity Falls is a place of mythical monsters, “chupacabrito” (the meat of a young chupacabra, a folkloric monster that sucks the blood of goats) seemed like something you might find on a menu there—and, of course, something Thompson’s friends would dare him to eat. The abandoned church where Dipper and Wendy have sex is the one seen in the episode “The Land Before Swine.” The Incestverse, where Dipper and Mabel are lovers, was all my idea, because I’m a pervert who is turned on by the notion of underage twincest. But I also really enjoyed writing Dipper’s inner conflict over the whole thing. I didn’t really make this clear in the story, but in the Incestverse, most people don’t grow up to marry their siblings or cousins and have babies with them. Incest is reserved for one’s FIRST romance; after that, people date non-relatives. The movie that Dipper and Mabel see with Mermadeline and Squatchie, Loch Ness Mobster—in which a Chicago mob informant assumes a new identity in Scotland—was inspired by the plot of the show Lilyhammer, about a New York mobster who hides out in Norway for similar reasons. The line “Release the kraken!”—shouted by Pacifica as the sheriff and deputy harass her tentacled boyfriend in chapter 6—is originally from the cornball 1981 Greek mythology movie Clash of the Titans (and has been referenced on several occasions on The Big Bang Theory). When Dipper and Mermadeline go to find and photograph the Gobblewonker, Dipper brings a flash that is separate from the camera. The principle of keeping the flash a few feet away from the camera lens is something I heard about long ago from a friend whose hobby was underwater photography. He said it keeps any floating particles in the water from reflecting the light from the flash straight back at the camera. Chapter 7, “Flipping Channels” was written to insert some comic relief between Dipper’s frightening encounter with the Gobblewonker in chapter 6 and the gloomy postapocalypic world of chapter 8. It was also meant as a quick way of ruling out Candy and Grenda as potential girlfriends for Dipper (although it’s arguable that the possibility of a Dipper/Candy relationship had already been taken off the table in the episode “Roadside Attractions”). In chapter 8, the mention of tiramisu (the Italian dessert of custard, ladyfingers, and espresso) is a reference to the one good joke (IMO) in the movie Sleepless in Seattle. Sam, who is getting back into the dating game after the death of his wife, asks his friend Jay if there’s anything new in the dating world that he should know about. Jay: Tiramisu. Sam: What is tiramisu? Jay: You’ll find out. Sam: Well, what is it? Jay: You’ll see! Sam: Some woman is gonna want me to do it to her, and I’m not gonna know what it is! Chapters 9 and 10, which are set in Dipper’s home town of Piedmont, California, were by far the hardest chapters to write. Whereas each of the preceding chapters included one or two original characters, ALL of the characters in these two chapters were original save for Dipper. Creating them all, as well as the places Dipper visits and the activities he engages in back home, was a huge task. But I like to think it was worth it. In chapter 11, Dipper tells Mabel and Grunkle Stan, “I feel like I haven’t seen you guys in a week.” That’s about the total amount of time (from Dipper’s perspective) that he spent in the various universes he visited. Eh Steve and I first conceived of this story back when Gravity Falls was still on the air, and we originally planned for Dipper to end up with Pacifica. However, after “Northwest Mansion Mystery,” Dipper and Pacifica’s potential relationship never went anywhere, so putting them together at the end of this story didn’t make sense anymore. So we ultimately decided that Dipper wouldn’t end up with anyone and that he would instead focus on the other relationships in his life, like his new friendship with Nat.
  3. Had a bit of an off week last week in terms of writing, but tonight I was feeling seriously inspired. I wrote a decent chunk of the final chapter of “Multiversity” – in fact, it’s pretty close to being ready for beta – then got a big shot of inspiration regarding “Auntie’s Home” and wrote a whole lot. That chapter was about 10% finished before; it’s about 60% finished now. GSWP1, to answer your questions: Regarding “Little Rose”: Because of my haphazard way of writing, I have quite a lot of bits of text written for future chapters, but this next chapter still needs a fair amount of work. The next chapter of TMTM is only about 20% done. But I’m hoping that inspiration will strike soon. Ginger will appear early in the next chapter. At the very least, we’ll see what Dr. Hirano has bought for Ginger to wear to “yoga class.”
  4. Words I would like to see less often in headlines: “blasts,” “slams,” and “outrages.”

Words I would like to see more often in headlines: “twerks,” “flashes,” and “humps.”

Of course, I realize that more articles in the second category would probably lead to more in the first.

“flashes” and “humps” probably appear more often in stories about roads/drivers.

I have a deep and abiding fondness for the “Mind the hump” road signs….

  5. Dropping in after a bit of an absence. Nothing wrong, just been busy. Lately, I’ve mostly been working on the final chapters of “Multiversity” and “The Miss Cutie Patootie Pageant.” No particular reason except that that’s what I’ve been inspired to do. And just in case anyone is wondering how much of a compulsive weirdo I am, I’m actually making a chart with all of the pageant contestants’ scores from each event so I can figure out who came in first, second, and third. Yeah, that’s what I’m doing with my life.
  6. That would be consistent with his behavior so far. Dipper loves to learn. We shall see. Hope you’ll like it. And thanks for the review!
  7. FYI, googling “Fantastic Breasts and Where to Find Them” garners 11,500 hits. :)

Have to admit, I still need to read it.  That’s a cookbook, right? :fthrower:

  8. Glad you liked it. Most of that stuff I planned in advance, but the idea for Balthazar’s monologue just came to me as I was starting to write the scene. I liked the idea of including some stream-of-consciousness erotic narrative, especially within the limitations of a boy who’s only eleven and who is trying to talk while getting blown in front of a stranger (the mayor, no less). That was a lot of fun to write, and it’s part of why the chapter ended up being as long as it is.
  9. Thank you! I’m rarely guilty of skimping on sex scenes, but in this case, I confess that I did, a bit. I was so concerned about the possibility of the “beach orgy” going on too long and the story getting lost that I overcompensated. Thanks! Ultimately, that’s what I was aiming for. Thanks for the review!
  10. Neither, actually. I’m afraid you’ll have to wait and see.
  11. I sometimes post in the “Promote a Story” section, but honestly, I mostly do that for stories that I think aren’t likely to attract a lot of viewers – not because they aren’t good, but because they may not be as relentlessly smutty as the rest of what I write. As for Halloween: I solemnly swear that I am up to no good and have already started my story.
  12. At long last, chapter 2 of “The More, the Merrier” is posted! Thanks! I wanted Dipper to experience the other side of the situation he was in with Mermadeline. She tried to become someone else for Dipper, and that didn't work out; in this universe, Dipper tried to be someone else for Tiffany, and that didn't work out, either. Quite possibly.
  13. Re: “Mia: Confessions of a Dickgirl” Thanks! And thanks again for betaing.
  14. The penultimate chapter (chapter 10) of “Multiversity” is back from beta and posted! Dipper Thanks! I felt like I had to include the bit about the dad because I wanted to show that Mia’s fears of being exposed aren’t just in her head—that there are real consequences to people finding out what she is. But we’ll be back to the fun stuff soon enough.
  15. Chapter 2 of “Mia: Confessions of a Dickgirl” is posted! In this flashback chapter, we find out how Mia’s unusual sex life got started. Thanks! There are times when I want the guy to have self-control, but I feel like it would be boring (and not terribly realistic) if that were the case ALL the time. So sometimes I just want him to go crazy and give the girl everything he’s got.
  16. Aaaaand chapter 3 of “Little Rose” is posted. SWP1, no worries.
  17. I don’t have any control over when my betas will get back to me with their critiques. They are doing this out of the kindness of their heart (ie, they rarely ask for me to do something for them in return), so I wouldn’t feel right about pressuring them. But I do plan to post chapter 3 of “Little Rose” some time tonight.
  18. Very informative. And I will forever remember the phrase “boob turbulence.”
  19. I don’t think just “letting things happen” to a character is enough to combat the Mary Sue disease. A lot of stuff happened to Rey from the current Star Wars trilogy, but that hasn’t prevented her from being good at absolutely everything she does on the first try, which makes it kind of pointless for her to have a story arc. For example, she had no real motivation to seek out Luke Skywalker, because he had nothing to teach her, so that part of the story came off as contrived. Compare that with the story arc of young Luke in the original trilogy, who had to confront not just enemies and hazards but his own flaws before he could become a Jedi. That’s what made his story worth watching.
  20. So, much news. First, chapter 2 of “Delta Delta Delta” is now posted. Lindsey and the other pledges have to show off their dancing skills—alone, and with a partner. Naughtiness ensues. Second, chapter 2 of “Mia: Confessions of a Dickgirl” is now in beta. I now have three chapters in beta simultaneously, which is a personal record. Yay? Third, I unexpectedly made massive progress on chapter 3 of “Little Rose” this week, so that will probably be posted soon. Although if one of those three chapters comes back from beta and needs revisions, that will take priority. Fourth: SWP1, regarding your additional comments on “Hot Yoga”: Thanks! I wanted them to have a different sort of relationship from any of the others in the group. Also, Adyson has always had a bit of a bad-girl vibe, and I’ve always thought Gretchen was the cutest and sweetest of the Fireside Girls (after Isabella, anyway), so it just seemed right for Adyson to be the domme and Gretchen the sweet little submissive. Yes, my whole mother’s duty fetish definitely came through big time in this story, given that two female characters took on the role of sex-teachers to the younger ones. We’ll be seeing more of that from both Vanessa and Dr. Hirano in “The More, the Merrier.”
  21. Re: “Little Rose” Thanks! And thanks for being the first to comment on this story. Next chapter coming soon!
  22. Well, neither chapter has returned from beta yet, but in the meantime, I’ve made a bit of progress on the next chapters of “Auntie’s Home” and “The Little Miss Cutie Patootie Pageant” and major progress on chapter 2 of “Mia: Confessions of a Dickgirl.” This chapter is a flashback to Mia’s teenage years, when she experienced her “second puberty” and the sharp spike in libido that came with it. It’s been hard limiting myself to one chapter’s worth of material, but I really want to get back to present time in the third chapter, so I’m sticking to the porny essentials.
  23. My parents’ memorial service went splendidly. Lots of us got to tell stories about them, and everyone in attendance seemed glad to hear it. Now, 2 quick updates: --Chapter 2 of “The More, the Merrier” should be back from beta any time now. --Chapter 10 of “Multiversity” went off to beta this morning. Thus, one way or the other, I’ll have something posted soon.
  24. Thank you! My foremost goal is always to be true to the characters. Oh, he totally would. And her speech pattern is somewhat based on his. Thank you! I have just sent chapter 10 off to beta, so it should be ready soon!
