Review replies for "Little Blonde Monster"

And I take it as such. Thank you! Suzy's need to compete with Candace to be Jeremy's "favorite girl" has always struck me as creepily incestuous, so this story seemed like a plausible extrapolation from her behavior on the show. And, of course, I'm having fun imagining all the sick stuff that goes on in her head. (I seem to have a fetish about women as sex offenders; it's a recurrent theme in a lot of my original stories, most notably "Side Effects" and "Cruel Nature.") Thanks. Belladonna ("beautiful woman" in Italian), also known as deadly nightshade, is known in folklore as a favorite poison of witches. Rumor has it Livia, wife of Augustus Caesar, used belladonna to kill him and maybe other people, too. So it seemed an appropriate name for a female dog trained by a female sociopath. The deadline for a story contest I want to enter is coming up in a few days, so I really need to finish that story (which I'll post here on AFF, of course). That said, given my lousy attention span, I'm sure I won't be able to help but spend at least a little of that time on "Little Blonde Monster," too. That you are--if for no other reason than that you're my only self-proclaimed fan. Thank you! I do my best to bring the madness. -

Re: "Caitlyn's Punishment" What, no cherry on top? I honestly can't make any promises as to when the third and final chapter will be posted. I literally have about 20 other stories going, and then, of course, there's life. -

Thank you! All it takes is practice and someone to offer constructive criticism. As I note at the beginning, my other P&F stories have a very different tone from this one. If you want something more in this kind of vein, you might look at some of my original stories. Hey, length isn't everything. There's also girth. Thank you! -

You know, when you say that, it sounds like a compliment. Seriously. Try as he might, Dr. Doofenschmirtz isn't even close to her level of evil. Hmm, but what if her place is a throne? Or a corner office? Good to be back, and thank you! -
I suppose what inspires me most are other people. All of what I consider to be my best stories were somehow inspired by someone else who provided direction and limitations, eg, a contest with a particular theme and word limit. I'm doing a story exchange with someone who gave me an idea of the type of story they wanted, and it was something I never would have thought of doing, but suddenly my head filled with ideas for plot, characters, scenes, and so forth. In fact, I think what I came up with might actually be worthy of a novel, even though I have never seriously considered writing a novel before.

Must...resist...grammar...spelling...rampage... Okay, calmer now. On the off chance that there is an AFF member alive who hasn't seen this yet, here is a timely and relevant music video: Weird Al Yankovic's "Word Crimes."

You are not wrong. That's part of why tagging is so important, IMO. It's not just to warn readers away from content they won't like; it's also to attract them to content they probably will like. I'm not sure I agree. The fetishes you mentioned (BDSM and noncon) seem to be popular in pretty much every fandom that I know of. I'm currently working on my eighth Phineas and Ferb story, which, unlike its seven predecessors, includes some noncon (okay, a lot of noncon). Even though I have only posted the first chapter, it is already clear that "Little Blonde Monster" is going to be far more popular than any of the others, given how quickly it is attracting reviews and votes. If I suddenly had a lot of time on my hands, I would LOVE to do a statistical analysis of review rates and votes, broken down by tag (or by fandom AND tag, if there were enough data to allow a meaningful analysis). There might be a lot to be learned about what AFF readers as a whole like, how the tastes of people in different fandoms differ (or don't differ), and whether hits versus ratings versus reviews represent different aspects of a story's attractiveness to readers. Of course, I'd have to beg the mods to give me the raw data. And possibly a supercomputer.

Having reread your post and looked at the spacing in several of your stories, I think we're not quite talking about the same thing. You seem to be talking about not having EXTRA space between paragraphs, whereas I'm talking about not having ANY space between paragraphs. That is, I would like to be able to have no more space between 2 separate paragraphs than there is between 2 lines of the same paragraph. Is there any way of doing that? (Short of turning the whole story into one giant paragraph and then separating the 'paragraphs' by using tabs or spaces to force each one down to the next line, which would be time-consuming.)
-
What is it you do in the RTE? I just tried messing around with it, and the only way I found to do it was to remove the paragraph break and insert blank spaces until the first word of the next paragraph moves down to the start of the next line. Is that what you do? And what do you do in the Word file? I always take out the extra paragraph breaks before I post to AFF, but this doesn't do away with the extra space--it just keeps there from being even more extra space. In any case, thanks for the quick response.

Don't let that stuff get you down. There are a great many factors that affect how many reviews a story gets, most of which have little or nothing to do with how well it's written. To name just one, FFN has no age restrictions, which means that compared to AFF, it has an audience that is much bigger, far less discriminating, and more prone to gushing or flaming (either of which ups the review numbers). I have two stories posted on AFF that I consider to be the best I have ever written. I literally sweated over them and (less literally) poured my heart and soul into them. And of all the stories I have posted here, they are the least reviewed and the lowest rated. Why? Probably because, unlike most of my other stories, they aren't porn. But the relative lack of attention to those stories doesn't mean that I think any less of them; I just know that they can't be measured with the same yardstick as my other stuff.

Look, a dead horse! [cuts switch, warms up arm] I'm currently writing a story in which vertical spacing is extremely important. It's an all-dialogue story with two characters, and I use the spacing as a way of showing who is speaking: If the lines are immediately adjacent, then the two characters are speaking alternately, whereas if there is a space between two lines, then it is the same character speaking with a pause in between his or her lines of dialogue. I can't think of another way to achieve the same effect without altering the pace of the story (eg, using script-like dialogue headings). Has any solution been found to the mandatory-spacing-between-paragraphs problem?

Thank you, and more thank you! And I shall remember the word "faptastical" for the rest of my days. I hope you'll enjoy the rest just as much. On an unrelated note, I'm sorry about your Tumblr account apparently being nuked. Happens to the best of us. Oh, and me. -

Thank you! The next chapter will have a bit more action and a bit less interior monologue, but I have hope that it will be just as enjoyable. -
Hello, fans of pervy Phineas and Ferb fiction! If you are kind enough to review my story "Little Blonde Monster," I will reply here. WARNING: This thread contains spoilers for the story (because the reviews do). If you haven't yet read "Little Blonde Monster" and you think you might want to, I strongly recommend clicking the link above and going for it before looking at the rest of this thread.

Re: "Caitlyn's Punishment" Excellent advice! Although perhaps (just perhaps) a bit too late for poor Caitlyn... Thanks! The villain is the linchpin of a story like this. They get the same vet who works the Donkey Show down in Tijuana. Thank you, and thank you! Thanks for the rec! I'll check it out. Re: "Caitlyn's Punishment" Well, time is relative--I actually posted the two chapters 6 days apart. Not quite sure how long it will take to post the third and final chapter, given that I've got a lot of stories going at the moment. -

That's a very interesting idea. The story is already pretty well sketched out at this point, but I won't rule out the possibility of a 1-chapter prequel. Also, if there is any total stranger whose advice I would trust with regard to a story like this, it would be one who calls herself "Vixen Bitch." I can do better than soon--I can do 20 minutes ago. -

Re: "Wish List" Thank you! I think this item from the FAQ explains how to do it (although it's a little confusing because they call it Recommended Authors and not Fav Authors): http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/index.php/topic/29616-how-to-use-the-new-recommended-authors/ If you liked "Wish List," you may also enjoy "Wild Side" and its sequel, "Everything She Needs." -

Re: "Daddy's Rules" Thank you! But...really? I have 24 stories in the Originals category alone. Are you a superhuman speed-reader, or are you one of those people who only sleeps an hour a night? You're in luck--I'll soon be posting the first of three chapters of "Caitlyn's Punishment," a story that fits at least some parts of this description. -
Sorry--it was a goofy reference to the shlock-tastic 1980 film THE BLUE LAGOON, which starred the then 14-year-old Brooke Shields (whose character steps on a stonefish and nearly dies at one point), some curly-headed 18-year-old guy whose career never recovered, and various body doubles for the many, many nude scenes. Roger Ebert called it the worst movie of the year.

You mean that spiny fish that tried to kill Brooke Shields?

I always wondered who picked up the Blood God's wallet after Blade killed him. Now I know.
