Happy Mother's Day!

Okay, so far the e-cigarette is working. I'm not smoking real cigarettes and I have no bodies to dispose of at the moment.

Blessed Samhain!

Three days of jury duty, followed by a dead computer. Coincidence? Hmm...I could take a page from my sister in law and dream up a wild conspiracy. Oohh, plunnie!
-
Okay, I'll bite the chocolate plunnie: why would a jury duty conspiracy want your computer dead?
-
::whispers:: Beats me, but I enjoy poking conspiracy theorists.
-
Now don't poke them too hard, my dear. They might explode really loudly and burst your ear drums from all the hot air releasing all at once. Not to mention the collateral damage of the wind storm of paranoia getting unleashed upon the hapless masses. *Evil Witch Cackles*

Currently tranferring years worth of data from old computer to new computer. ..

Apparently, the Trumpian effect has struck. My son’s bus has managed to pick him up on time these week once. ONCE. I have set a record for the number of complaints filed in a single day, and I’m now going to drive the poor kid to school, because the driver is out and there isn’t anyone who can drive the bus.
The ill-prepared nature of this bus company is breathtaking. Equipment breaks down? No problem. Wait for another bus to finish its route, and send that out. “These kids” aren’t really learning anything, so they can miss the morning at school. No driver? Same deal, wait for someone else to finish a route, and that’s good enough.
-
*sighs* They’ve been useless for a while now. I don’t know what else to suggest except to keep complaining. Is it the school’s responsibility? Surely they must be thinking of getting some other bus company to fulfil the role by now…

We need a “no-like” button for updates like this… This is just horrendous.

I can’t get my head around how they can think it’s in any way acceptable to leave kids waiting around in the winter. It’s atrocious.

A very happy birthday to @foeofthelance and hoping this year brings lots of good things for you! See you at Ren Faire, lad, and I’ll stand you a mead!

Thursday. A fictional oracle delivers a prophecy while I'm trying to take a shower. This is why I write, because it's a very busy place inside my head.
-
I adore you all, but it’s after midnight here, and I need to sleep so I can be up again at 6am. 🛏️
-
But...but… there’s other opportunities to sleep, like on the job or while driving. 💤

Well, they were a little off. It was 15 inches of snow yesterday through this morning...

M Denis Villeneuve had best be working on Dune Part Two, or I shall hunt him down, remove his liver with my bare hands, and offer it to the Morrigan.
And yes, Part One was an enormous improvement over David Lynch’s effort, although I might had chosen differently for the role of Lady Jessica. But by and large, c’est incroyable!

So you’re giving it your mark of approval?

I’m 90% sure he is already.

I am, actually! I read the books initially a very long time ago, and they stayed with me. I’ve reread them periodically, and I was SO excited when David Lynch was making the movie back in the early 80s. My brother and I were at the theater to see it the first week, I think, wide-eyed and breathless, but while the special effects were (for the time) amazing, and the film was gorgeous to look at, there was no passion. None. The best part of the movie was Jurgen Prochnow as Duke Leto Atreides, and perhaps Sir Patrick Stewart as Gurney Halleck. But the entirety of the first book is too vast to be covered in one movie, even if you were to show it as a three hour film. Denis Villeneuve left us on a cliffhanger, but he chose a perfect breaking point and I have high hopes that Part Two will be as wonderfully done.

::packs Hello Kitty bento, lots of mechanical pencils and neko erasers:: Have a great first day, my Neko Wench!

I voted. I only had to wait on line for 30 minutes, which I understand is a good thing, but I voted.

Death and taxes... I'll take death!
