  1. Guest Arrowblaze, you were already warned by our Forum Administrator, @Melrick that story content is not allowed in the forum. Your post has been hidden, to be handled at his discretion.
  2. I’ll second Neko on sending anyone who wants it some rain. I seem to have been relocated to Seattle, but 20 degrees (Fahrenheit) warmer…
  3. We don’t allow anyone to republish stories written by another person. If this is a challenge to write a similar story, that’s fine, but if you are simply reposting someone else’s work with minor revisions, that’s not permitted.
  4. For anyone who’s interested, Ghost’s Dilemma is available for preorder on July 27 from Nine Star Press: https://ninestarpress.com/product/ghosts-dilemma/ I’m really excited about this one, since I’ve made some edits and I think it’s a lot stronger now. So, for anyone who reads it, thank you!
  5. Now this I can see working quite well. When the song is a clue, a way to pinpoint a villain? Yes, absolutely put that original song in there. In fact, I’m agog with admiration because I can barely cobble together a freaking 8-line prophecy without anguish and exasperation.
  6. I know just the place for that goat sacrifice. ::nods vigorously::
  7. We have a category in the Books subdomain for Gor: http://books.adult-fanfiction.org/index.php?cat=1113 (Books > G through L > Gor Series) While there is no further subdivision under that category, I should point out that we don’t have the ability to include music or pictures in the archive, and we don’t allow links to any offsite product that a reader would have to pay to access. Users have linked to a piece of fan art, or to a YouTube video of a musical song that might have served as inspiration, but we really don’t allow more than that.
  8. I don’t mind dry heat. Humidity gets to me faster, to be honest, and a humid 28C will do me in long before a dry 33C. I don’t actually care for rain, unless I can remain indoors, or watch it from the porch. If snow didn’t occur in such freaking cold temperatures, I’d like it, but you know. I don’t do well below freezing.
  9. I’ve also seen it done, and like @Sinfulwolf I found it more distracting than useful... outside of Tolkien. I confess to a blind adoration of all things elvish.
  10. Androids, being constructs and not living beings, don’t require an age tag per se. However, the AFF basic rules forbidding any portrayal of a real person under the age of 18 still apply, so no android of a celebrity who’s under 18 at present is allowed.
  11. It’s a very interesting spin on the notion of celebrity, and what that encompasses. Is it the actual person, or the persona we’ve assigned to them which is famous? Speaking as a moderator, I would still ask that the story be placed in the Celebrity subdomain, simply because the androids will have the appearance and names of the actual celebrity. That’s the entire point of the android, after all—to replace the actual person with something which can be owned and manipulated without fear of arrest for unlawful imprisonment, assault, et cetera. If the android resembled my neighbor, an attractive young woman of no celebrity or notoriety, there would not be the same level of interest from the eccentric billionaire, I suspect. His attraction is to the actual celebrity, and he’s found a work-around to let him have his cake and eat it, too. As a reader, and as a writer. it’s a fun concept because it does explore what we mean by fame, and what it is we expect from those we have chosen to make famous. I wonder if at some point his interest would expand to those we deem notorious—famous for all the wrong reasons. That would be as fascinating, really.
  12. This is the url to your account: http://members.adult-fanfiction.org/profile.php?no=1296971814 You need to log in using your email address, which is the one you indicated, and your password, which should be letters and/or numbers only, at least 8 characters but no more than 12 characters long, and is case sensitive. So, if you used a capital letter anywhere, you always have to use a capital letter. If you forget and type that letter in lowercase, the password will not be recognized. If you can’t remember your password, you can request a password reset here: http://members.adult-fanfiction.org/reset.php
  13. Our tech admin will see this post, as will our coder. Database access, as you correctly surmise, is restricted, and I would not be able to run that query myself. However, should you have a pressing concern about an individual story, I can do a manual correction, as I’ve offered.
  14. We actually have run a query to remove commas and other punctuation. If you find a story with those punctuation marks, please link it so we can correct it manually.

The stories were all removed by c0p13r himself. He set a deadline of January 1, 2018, and then pulled every last story down. This was his decision, and we at AFF ask that our members and visitors respect that decision. If by some chance you find a copy of anything he wrote, do NOT link it here, or offer copies here.
  16. I’ll shift it for you!
  17. DemonGoddess has a FAQ for that here: http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/topic/64151-how-to-fix-the-black-diamond-issue/ As she works her way through the subdomains for the archive clean-up project, she’s doing her best to fix that issue permanently, but the fix in the FAQ does help.
  18. Just avoid Kindle Unlimited, from what I’ve been told….
  19. Have you ever tried translating something into a language you know, just to see what Google will do to it? It’s hilarious! But to be serious ever so briefly, certain languages use syntax that Google and most other AI linguistics programs can’t readily mimic. Japanese, for example, rarely uses pronouns, or even subjects. It’s implied in the context of the rest of the sentence. Google mangles those translations horribly. Same thing with French, when some adjective precede the noun being modified, and others come after the noun. Google tends to substitute an entirely wrong noun and/or adjective because it’s not ready for post-noun adjectives. AI linguistics has a long way to go yet, but for translating a simple phrase in Latin into English, it’s good enough.
  20. What Clover said! But really, fan fiction is a terrific way to hone writing skills. The world building and basic character development is done, and you just get to put your own slant on things. Sharing that online brings valuable feedback and yes, the chance to talk to other writers.
  21. DemonGoddess is on a few messenger services still, but her work schedule’s been insane lately. If you check her profile she has a few posted, as well as emails where she can be reached. Have you tried the usual run of deleting all AFF cookies, clearing your cache and history, and then closing your browser completely? Sometimes clearing all the old data resets any cookies that might have been corrupted, and lets you log in again. Unfortunately, I can’t look into the database and see if it’s the password field, or if the password is too short/too long/contains special characters or symbols. The new requirements are no less than 8 or more than 12 letters and/or numbers, and still case sensitive. I’ll post this for her as well in PM, so hopefully she can steal a few minutes to peek at the database for me, and see if it’s something there.
  22. As a proponent of a well-rounded classical education, I say make ‘em work for it! I mean, Google Translame, folks!
  23. I have no problem with titles in Latin, actually. I sort of like it, to be honest, and might have to brush up on my Latin.
