So. Sooo. Ages ago I did this flashfic, called Reststop. While the evidence shows I’m pretty much willing to post any old shit , especially as flashfics, It didn’t work for me as a story. Some nice bits of description but the character felt wrong. I showed it to InBrightestDay one time and got the suggestion back that it’d work better with another of my characters – which made a ton of sense - and a great point about silent hunting. I figured well, maybe I could do the needed re-write and submit it for Halloween after all. Then I re-read it and realised it’d need a lot more than just some name swaps, so I threw away 90% of it, started writing again and got about 2400 words down. I don’t know if I’ll finish it, never mind finish it for Halloween, but if I do I’m submitting it for the Halloween party this year. I mean, most of it is confusing drivel but there’s one bit I have in my head that if I can get it written down will be pretty awesome and nicely horror-like gory.

Indeed, I don't think Lincoln ever would have guessed Lucy would be into that. Well, both of them are about eleven years old, so as you say, the risk is probably small. But, as you also say, it's not zero. Hmm, or could he? *music sting* And then was suddenly silenced. I fear that something terrible has happened. No, the use of "her" was deliberate. There's an episode in which Lucy complains that her pulse is too robust; she'd rather have a more undead-like physiology. That's probably my favorite line from this chapter. Yay!

Chapter count for The Woman in the Statue is being changed again, this time to 11 chapters. This isn’t because I’ve added a ton more story or anything; it’s just a matter of word count. For instance, even after splitting Chapter 10 into 10 and 11, what I have of the final chapter is still over 11,000 words, and I am not done. Of course, I wouldn’t be posting this just to say that. Ok, so...*deep breath* I will be posting Chapter 10 of 11 of WitS one week from today. That chapter is done (and JayDee’s already seen it) so that won’t be a problem. One week after that, Chapter 11 goes up, and we finally finish this. Full disclosure: I’m terrified. Fingers crossed, everyone!
