Print is usually much more expensive, and has a lower rate of return for a self-published author. You have to pay the costs of printing, and even when books are only printed after they are ordered. you need to price them in order to recover your costs. My novella doesn’t offer print copies, but my novel sells on Amazon for $5.99 for a Kindle ebook, and $15.95 for the paperback. I don’t sell a lot of print copies…

Thats sorta how I started with my story. Just looking at how my favorite authors started. hahah Weirdly enough I got absurdly stuck because I got almost the whole story done but hadn’t thought of how to begin. I eventually was like you know what? Gonna start with a prison tale along the lines of one time I was snatched from bed at an ungodly hour and thrown into jail for no discernible reason.

I haven’t used them, but they look pretty damned good from what I’m reading. The prices for editing are fair, and so are the cover prices. If I were to self-publish, I think I’d give them a shot myself.

Eyecandy should be unisex in my opinion. Not every man has to be a bodybuilding adonis of course nor every women a perfect voluptuous sex goddess Give him a broad shoulders, or great legs or a big booty or a nice bulge or even those nice full jawlines. Her experiences sound like she got them early/ they were bigger than the other women around her. And she was not treated well because of this sudden puberty driven endowment.

From JayDee on June 27, 2021 Fallen City – Bit of an action packed part here! The explosion at the start and the use of the meat shield was hella fun. Liked the portrayal of the pissed-off-at-humanity gallows god too. People forget these days that ol’ One-Eye had a temper… With prophecy broken fate is in flux but tends to go the path of least resistance. The journey to catastrophic war is picking up steam. The Jotun will not stand idle not when their only ally that treats them as people rather than monsters is suddenly attacked. The roosters that foretell the final battle might be drowned in the river that never freezes. Inertia however is ramping up. Asgard is definitely on team fuck humanity and Jotun are on Humanity’s side when they hear humanity’s cry for aid the war horns will beckon Apocalypse is on the horizon. SPOILER COMMENTS …did I get that right? Did Glykon just destroy the spear? Now that was a badass tough moment there. Glykon did destroy Gungnir, Its power wrecking the city. The oaths The Allfather forced on others are broken, his symbol of authority ruined. This object showcasing Asgard’s unassailable might ruined. It’s a loss of face, a loss of strength. his greatest act was he stole the antichrist, The Beast Of The Sea right out from under Odin’s nose and for that he needed Zahhak to cause commotion and take everyone’s focus solely on him. And he did it all *without* hands Glykon got some hidden depths! Also kinda funny the way he shows up and does his effortless convincing through the sock puppet like usual! Did she even need to use the human as a meat shield, or was it just a bit of “being an asshole for the sake of it?” The Beast Of The Sea is a unrepentant jerk, She’s also the most powerful of Lucifer’s remaining brood. Since Zahhak and likely other players have been tracking down her siblings. She isn’t afraid of throwing down, not when she can go straight into dark souls boss mode with her warform. She is not a match against a skyfather, head of a godtribe but then her true power lay not in combat (which is considerable She’s a daughter of a confirmed god killer) But in her ability to influence others especially humans. She can bring out the worst in others. It seems like being mortal has limited prospects in this chapter anyway, with the Valkyries going full massacre. No doubt a few regretting they’re not fitting in old Viking activities like the pillage, and the other thing. Humanity just got sucker punched and blows keep on coming.I would not want to live on this particular world right now. The fact that a head of a tribe of gods just openly destroyed a city is all the admission one needs to successfully infer that the Global Pantheon is not on humanity’s side.

But here’s a writer question isn’t it a nice thing to do to put your manuscript through spellchecker/grammarly so your editor doesn’t hate you? You know catch the obvious errors first.

“Sorcerer’s Stone” does run off the tongue a bit better than the Philosopher’s Stone, otherwise, yep, would’ve been better if the Britishisms weren’t removed.
As to my potter fanfic, not sure where the old disclaimer that I was American went to, apologizing in advance for not being perfect to British. However, I do try to insert some British where I can, particularly “todger” and “zebra crossing”.

Only have two HP fanfictions when where harry is trying to survive in a zombie apocalypse a scenario were the wizarding world is almost guaranteed to thrive in since wands don’t run out of bullets
And a dark lord Harry who AK’d peter in the graveyard, a relatively slow corruption story hahah.

I’ve only got one potter fanfic I’m working on, now A/U because it was a “continue the story” type of fic that was popular between book releases, and it’s interesting enough to finish. As it’s technically a sequel to my first “continue the story” fanfic, which itself was “continue the story” based on another (now abandoned) fanfic, I can’t bring the story itself to AFF w/o filing off the serial numbers which I couldn’t bring myself to do. However, it’s plenty fun to write with Harry being framed up to be a “suspected dark wizard” and it pokes fun at the Harry/Ginny shipping.

From JayDee on June 25, 2021 “Returning light” “Harry thought of good times with his best mates and he was rewarded with a bang” Filthy! Oh OH, right, wrong bang. Carry on. This one seems to be fairly optimistic! Ol Riddle coming across as a bit of a dick in Harry’s recollection which definitely fits in canon. I liked how he got the ol’ Patronus running around and had a nice sense of comfort from the light. There’s a quote, I think Terry Pratchett? “Sometimes it’s better to light a flamethrower than curse the darkness.” Anyway, good to get back into Harry’s head here and looking forward to the next part. Even if it is detailed laundry doing. To rise on the back of giants means you don’t have start from scratch. He’s got Dumbledore and others as examples he isn’t alone. Darkness has marked him but at his core Harry shines brighter for it.

my spellchecker constantly flags grey/ gray. If I want to use them interchangeably I will -
I mainly ado full mage build. I should probably do that whole OP sniper archer everyone seems to do. The spells can be a little lack luster buts its hilarious when you can heal yours companions faster than they can get hurt.
