The physical link will not change, only the title and summary data that you edit will change

I could just as easily look up your user information for you on the old account so that you can adjust it (change the penname, email address and etc). For that matter, as we find duplicates, depending upon what is the reason for the duplication (loss of login information is the most common), I generally merge them. Time consuming task, but at least that way the user has access to the old data as well. Personally, it's much easier if you just contact someone here, they give me the information and we get you back all your login info that you need.

There is no reason, with the capabilities the forum has for many things, why you cannot start a discussion in the appropriate subforum for just this sort of thing. Discussion is not limited to stories in the archive.

Missing Author Page and StoriesDemonGoddess replied to Haywire_Hakaze's topic in Archive Tech Support When you were deleted, you were underage. When something is deleted from the archive, because it is a record in a database, there is no way to retrieve it. The deletion is permanent.

Are multiple usernames permitted on the archive?DemonGoddess replied to JayDee's topic in FAQ requests In point of fact, we DO discourage multiple memberships. You have a host of problems when there are multiple memberships. One, people often do not remember all their user info and passwords. They then cannot access their story data, and end up having to have as many as 5 memberships merged at a time (I even had one where I merged 10, which took about 2 hours). Two, the archive itself will eventually be restructured to where one must have a unique email and unique user id. Three, you have the kiddies who don't belong here, who OFTEN create 5 to 10 memberships to try and get away with posting here underage. So, as you can see, not really something we encourage. As always, there are always exceptions, under certain conditions. However, those exceptions we really have to know about so that (for example), your user info does NOT get merged if you don't want it merged.

List fics, and placeholders, which is what this one was; (appeared to be an amalgam of both, as it was a song playlist) are deleted.

Sorry about the delay in adding the categories (did that this morning). I'm actually on vacation until the 18th, but my damn job has got me so exhausted, I've spent most of it asleep
-
sure do, and can see about getting that addressed as well

Even if we find this person not in either application, I'll see what we can do ANYWAY.
-
	and here

I just wish the grammar errors were a true age indicator for everyone. Unfortunately, NOT so. Quite a few of the minors we've caught are actually talented, watchful of their grammar, get betas, the whole works. DAMMIT. However, will process this old minor, as she IS an old minor.

It's not currently possible, no. However, may be an option at a later date. We'll have to look in to it.

If a story displays at all, and yet the content of the chapter does not show, what I've been finding is that it's a formatting error on the user's part more often than not. What happens commonly, is people will convert a Word document to html and upload it, WITHOUT stripping out the extra html formatting tags that the archive does not allow. When that happens, (as I go along and fix these things) I have to manually edit each and every data record to remove all that so that it displays correctly.

Well, If Jaxxy wants to start it and take care of the thing, why not?

	yep, just now

So here we have a new variation on flame baiting. Not only was this user encouraging people to FLAME someone (offsite), she ALSO encouraged them to hack in to the user's DeviantArt account. Might I add that's illegal.... For obvious reasons, I blacked out the user name in question, but still as you can see, this is not a good thing for a user to do. Ever. Completely unacceptable.

First of all, you need to use the jump menu located in your user panel. Select "naruto" from the dropdown, and press go. THEN you add your story. If you wait on me to move it, the wait is very, very long. Months, in point of fact. Those [ADMIN] misplaced categories are directly related to the sort, so that as we finish a subdomain, and the very old stuff that has been there and misplaced, it gets moved. Then, the category itself will be deleted. For that matter, new stories uploaded to the wrong subdomain get deleted two weeks after you get sent an email explaining exactly what I just did in this post.

	The more the merrier....

Facebook profile My mom talked me in to this, apparently most of my cousins are on it too. Doubt we'll do what the one poster suggested...BUT....I know I have an active Vampire Wars clan, Mafia Wars mob, and a Pirates crew...

I'm waiting before performing the upgrade, to ensure that they have the bugs under control first, as this initial release is apparently quite buggy. Also, to ensure that the major modifications I have in the board already, are re-coded to work with IPB 3.x So far, none of them are, as they are ALL having to be rewritten.

Sorry all, been working now for 10 days consecutively, so I've been coming home and just ....falling down. ugh. Will get to all this in the morning. I'm guessing that the manga link is not active on the main index? I'll have to fix that...
-
Sure, could do, but thing is, we do have a subdomain for the manga based stuff now too. I expect once we get to that subdomain for sorting, I'm going to be doing lots of moving of stuff that was put there because there WAS no place to put the manga based stuff
-
the above request, is your story based on the anime arc or manga arc? We have a subdomain for each, so please be more specific
-
There should be a link with the warnings. If not, I'll have to see about getting that fixed. As to the search engine, there is an upgrade we have planned FOR the search, which is an entirely different engine that is designed to work with a large database. In fact, the thing will not work with a database that is less than 500MB in size, or in the case of a forum, a forum with less than 2,000 members. Kind of depends on the application. In any case, this particular engine is, as I said, designed to work with large datasets. So once we have that in place, it'll be much easier to find stuff. I'll have to check and see if we can do that sooner rather than later, as well.

What Happened to the Standard DisclaimersDemonGoddess replied to solomru's topic in Fiction Archive The standard disclaimer autofill made a problem with the code itself, to where it destabilized it, as near as we can figure. It had been discontinued long before either manta2g came back, or I came on board. This is, of course, an educated guess, going by the code snippets we had to clean out throughout the scripts to stabilize the program itself a couple years ago. Some of the snippets we removed were definitely PART of that function. Now, we do have something planned to take its place, which will work better. Unfortunately, it won't be implemented for quite awhile yet. Have other things that need to be done first, and are being done.
