  1. That's something we've actually been looking in to for the archive, to do it in such a way that it definitely shows who did, and as a thank you. However, it's not quite ready to go.
  2. The hosting company ended up having to reset the hardware, to restore the functionality.
  3. I noticed this starting late yesterday. So you all know, I've already contacted Jaxxy (as the site owner, she is the one who contacts the hosting company) to find out WHY everything is running so slowly. It's affecting just about every function on the site. From load times, to web mail. Thank you for your patience while we find out what's going on, and following that, what we can do to correct the situation, if possible, from this end.
  4. tv subdomain - Angel - AU new sub sub categories Het FemmeSlash Slash Threesomes/Moresomes Angel/Spike Angel - Het new sub sub categories Angel/Cordy Faith/Wesley Illyria/Spike Angel - FemmeSlash no new sub sub categories Angel - Slash new sub sub categories Angel(us)/Spike(William) Angel(us)/Lindsey Angel(us)/Wesley Spike(William)/Wesley As said before, where the sub subs did not exist for the pair/pair plus, they were created in the buffy subdomain as well in preparation for the data move.
  5. Starting with AtS/BtVS Crossovers - Top level - Angel 2nd level - AtS/BtVS Crossovers 3rd level - FemmeSlash Het Angel(us)/Buffy Connor/Dawn Buffy/Spike(William) Slash Angel(us)/Spike(William) Angel(us)/Xander Spike(William)/Xander Threesomes/Moresomes Angel(us)/Buffy/Spike(William) Angel(us)/Spike(William)/Xander In addition, so that it is there for the data move- top level - AtS/BtVS Crossovers 2nd level -Threesomes/Moresomes 3rd level - Angel(us)/Buffy/Spike(William) All the other pair/pair plus sub sub categories are pre-existing in the buffy subdomain, except for the new one I'm making today. Because there are only three posting levels, I cannot make the pair/pair plus sub subs in the tv subdomain, so they will coexist with their upper level category at the third level. By doing this, this will make it so we can more efficiently move the data from one subdomain to another. Once the data is moved, those stories and subcategories will be deleted from the tv subdomain, as they will be "living" on the buffy subdomain after the move.
  6. With the completion of the sort for the threesomes subcategory, there are three new sub sub categories Buffy/Faith/Spike Buffy/Faith/Xander Ethan/Giles/Joyce In preparation for moving the fiction from the tv subdomain to the buffy subdomain for Angel the Series, there will be more. I'll post that up shortly.
  7. these are repaired
  8. I'll get to 'em when I get to 'em. Very likely during the clean up.
  9. This would be the third time then that I've had to delete her. She's been deleted twice already by me alone. I'm not sure if she's been deleted by any of the other mods besides those two times. In any case, today makes the third time to delete this particular person. As she is hosted on yahoo, I'm not ABOUT to do something where someone ELSE's site may in fact be affected because of that one user. (Meaning the blocking by IP, which blocks the hosting site IP addresses). As to the ability to ban a user permanently, the software itself does not let any one of us do that. I wish it did. All we can do on this end is periodically check for them, and delete them as they reappear. With archaic software, there is really not much any one of us can do, other than to check and recheck, and delete as needed. As to the login architecture, it also does not allow for blocking by email. That's something being rewritten, but, like everyone else, I have to WAIT for that to be finished before anything we HAVE done with bans can actually be enforced via the software. The only software on this site capable of doing those things at this time are the forum. As it is not integrated with the archive, and is not likely TO be integrated entirely with the archive, those sorts of bans will only work here, where generated by software. Now, I've been reasonable all along about this whole thing. You, on the other hand, have been accusatory and hysterical. I'm quite sure you will continue to behave in exactly that way in future regarding this person. For that matter, you're likely to react in that manner regarding myself. I take offense at you calling me a liar, and/or saying I do nothing. Neither of which is true. Here's the thing. If you would LIKE for me to devote 50 hours or better a week to AFF, then you can financially support me so I don't have to work, do my housework, and all the OTHER real life things I must do every damn day, ASIDE from doing things with and for this archive, FOR FREE. Yes, I'm being more than a LITTLE sarcastic. However, I do believe you're deserving of it. No, you will NOT be getting an apology from me for this, so don't even bother to ask.
  10. Okay, sorry for the delay in getting to this, everyone. RL really bit me in the ass this last month, so I've had almost no free time to speak of.
  11. looked at both profiles, deleted all unfic.
  12. She uploaded to the wrong subdomain. It's nuked
  13. We'll look in to it for you
  14. Here are a bunch, you have to look through the story listing and you'll see 'em first batch AtS/BtVS crossover fic For the slash, most is Spander, the rest is various other pairs
  15. By the way, the review citing the problems, IS the notice. So, you were certainly notified.
  16. These stories are not misplaced. What you did, was that where it asks for the subdomain in your rec reading list (i.e [archive]anime[/archive], you need to be sure to put the subdomain name in place for the subdomain in which the story IS. For example, you would switch the "anime" tag in the one to "ygo". It will then redirect to the CORRECT story. The story IDs are unique to each subdomain, not the database itself.
  17. This is your current disclaimer You're missing the fiction statement. That's why it was hidden.
  18. If at all possible, it's best to get permission from someone before using their artwork or anything else they've done. Of course, citing where you're getting the material from is necessary.
  19. Because the archive defaults to not displaying emails (spam protection, as the old script doesn't protect from harvesters getting 'em from the page draw), if you REALLY want to get in touch with someone, you can always contact a mod. One of us can then email that person, and ask if it's okay to give their email address to you. On the other hand, the suggestion to review now after all this time is a good one. I did that a couple years ago on a story (I rarely review), and much to my surprise, the author actually wrote a sequel! You'd be surprised. Sometimes that's all it takes to inspire someone to either continue on (if they're not burnt out), or do something new with their storyline.
  20. That's actually untrue. The user in question was asked to please remove the content from her site, by not only the members affected, but by some of the staff members as well. She did, in fact, do that. However, it was and is still plagiarism, which is why this user was deleted. What happened, ultimately, is that yugithecutie was deleted from the archive. She is NOT welcome to return. Ever. Thing is, we do not have ANY control over what a web hosting service allows on their servers. We (a couple of the mods) advised the one member to REPORT this person to her hosting company, as that's the best that can be done from this end for someone else's domain. No one here has any control whatsoever over what content is or is not allowed on someone else's web server. To expect that we could, or in fact would be able to do anything about it, is foolish, at best. After all, it's not like this site owns yahoo.com, which is (or was when this happened) yugithecutie's hosting company. It would be best to put up all sides in future, yes?
  21. Thanks for that madlodger! Much appreciated

  23. Thanks, and yes that makes much more sense now, to have a filtering option. I'll see what the other gal has to say about it.
  24. Could you go in to a bit more detail as to what exactly you're wanting the program to do? Give examples, that would be helpful. As to the search, if I'm remembering how the engine that will be implemented (eventually) works, that should be a possibility, yes. Again, examples of HOW your friend would like to perform a search would be helpful.
  25. I've held off on this long enough. The modifications that I'd like to keep current, they're still rewriting, it's looking like months before release on them. So, hopefully they will still work afterwards. As there's not much difference in the language versions (from 4 to 5 on php, mysql was already written for 5.x), I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Because this is a major update, expect the board to be down for at least 3 hours while I do it. I will make a date/time announcement at least a week beforehand. I expect to get this done sometime in the next three weeks.
