  1. Here's the deal. You can argue all you like with me, or anyone else as to what/where the challenges and requests are posted on this site. The entire REASON it was all shifted to the forum, is that the forum is better able to handle the load, for a number of reasons. Thus it will NOT be shifting back. I've checked several places, and have not yet found this challenges subcategory that I apparently missed in deleting the over 800MB of them and search requests from the archive last year. Considering that in the multiple fanworld subdomains there are 200+ subcategories per where this might be living (and there are six where this applies) one can surely see that it is entirely possible that I may have missed one over a year ago. Considering that my free time is not limited, as I work full time and have a family to care for, among other things? One can see why I would need a direct link if that is to be eliminated as well sooner, rather than waiting for me to find it while we continue with the clean up of the archive as a whole. If you are looking for support as to WHY an upload is taking you so long, without any information as to browser, connection speed, and operating system, you will get no help. More information is needed from a user in order to give them any kind of help of that nature. Don't post that request to this topic, as it will be ignored. There is a forum specifically for tech support, which is where such a topic should be posted. As to how it works in forum, the challenges/requests are actually much easier. The user does not even have to be registered for the forum to use those sections. Links are enabled, so if a challenge is answered, for example, a direct link to the story is easily put up, which is clickable. MUCH better than copy/paste and hope you got the address right. As to harshness of answers from me? I am very direct, blunt, and to the point. If you can't handle that, I don't know what to tell you. I've been like that for near 50 years, and don't see it changing any time soon, if ever. For that matter, the more pressed for time I am, the more terse any reply I give is bound to be.
  2. It depends upon what browser you're using. There are certain items in the ibStore which only work in Internet Explorer. If memory serves, the glow pen is one of them.
  3. Actually, challenges are posted in the forum ONLY. Challenges posted in the archive are deleted. This is stated in the Terms of Service for the site itself. The link in the menu FOR challenges and requests directs you to the forum. Specifically, to the subforums that were created specifically for this. As far as there being a challenge section in the archive, there shouldn't be one any longer, anywhere. Now, considering how many subdomains and 2nd level categories I went through to find all those challenge/request subcategories and delete them over a year ago, it's possible I may have missed one. I'm not saying it's not. However, YOU should also be aware of the terms of service for the site, and the fact that this is something that was announced and announced and announced several times, before the challenge sections were eliminated, as well as during the deletions, and afterwards. Along with WHERE and how to post challenges and requests. Finally, there is also a part of the TOS (again, you should take the time to read it, that way you are clear as to what is and is not allowed) where it CLEARLY states that content may be deleted at any time, without notice and/or notification. Having looked up when you joined the archive, you joined LONG after this change of putting challenges in the forum only came about.
  4. Like I said earlier, dogma and common sense, as well as logic are often not compatible. Regardless of the religion in question. I think that this man who did this to the nine year old, should be not only in prison, but put into general population. From what friends of mine who've worked in prisons have said, as well as news reports in past and whatnot, the inmates would do more to exact justice from this beast than any legal system could.
  5. An author's note in the form of a story (which is what your email stated this was) we consider an unfic/nonfic. As I explained to you in the email I sent, we find those, they are deleted.
  6. Deleted all 5
  7. See, that's the thing with organized religion. Dogma and common sense often never EVER meet. Very contradictory.
  8. Everyone, what you're looking at is classic flamebaiting. So, what you do is ignore it, let the mods handle it (which is being done), and continue your discussion. As to the original topic... Personally, I cannot see allowing a raped 9 year old to carry a child, period. For one, it's dangerous to her, physically. It could KILL that girl. Why on earth anyone in their right mind would think it's okay for a little girl to risk life and limb to bear the result of a rape is beyond me. I'm glad that she was allowed to terminate that pregnancy. But, that's my opinion.
  9. A good drabble is fun to read. I think what the one person suggested, about putting several on one page, as a chapter, rather than several chapters, would probably work best.
  10. I take it this is offsite, and locally on your computer? If so, what program are you using?
  11. Serene Lies- There is already a Sesshomaru/Kagura category Everyone else, I've been working two full time jobs this last week (leaving one, and started the new) so I will get to these adds hopefully later today.
  12. Thank you for the report, we will certainly take care of it. Please continue to leave the review up, after I (or one of the other mods) have documented everything, I'll go ahead and remove it for you.
  13. The physical link will not change, only the title and summary data that you edit will change
  14. I could just as easily look up your user information for you on the old account so that you can adjust it (change the penname, email address and etc). For that matter, as we find duplicates, depending upon what is the reason for the duplication (loss of login information is the most common), I generally merge them. Time consuming task, but at least that way the user has access to the old data as well. Personally, it's much easier if you just contact someone here, they give me the information and we get you back all your login info that you need.
  15. There is no reason, with the capabilities the forum has for many things, why you cannot start a discussion in the appropriate subforum for just this sort of thing. Discussion is not limited to stories in the archive.
  16. When you were deleted, you were underage. When something is deleted from the archive, because it is a record in a database, there is no way to retrieve it. The deletion is permanent.
  17. In point of fact, we DO discourage multiple memberships. You have a host of problems when there are multiple memberships. One, people often do not remember all their user info and passwords. They then cannot access their story data, and end up having to have as many as 5 memberships merged at a time (I even had one where I merged 10, which took about 2 hours). Two, the archive itself will eventually be restructured to where one must have a unique email and unique user id. Three, you have the kiddies who don't belong here, who OFTEN create 5 to 10 memberships to try and get away with posting here underage. So, as you can see, not really something we encourage. As always, there are always exceptions, under certain conditions. However, those exceptions we really have to know about so that (for example), your user info does NOT get merged if you don't want it merged.
  18. List fics, and placeholders, which is what this one was; (appeared to be an amalgam of both, as it was a song playlist) are deleted.
  19. Sorry about the delay in adding the categories (did that this morning). I'm actually on vacation until the 18th, but my damn job has got me so exhausted, I've spent most of it asleep
  20. sure do, and can see about getting that addressed as well
  21. Even if we find this person not in either application, I'll see what we can do ANYWAY.
  22. I just wish the grammar errors were a true age indicator for everyone. Unfortunately, NOT so. Quite a few of the minors we've caught are actually talented, watchful of their grammar, get betas, the whole works. DAMMIT. However, will process this old minor, as she IS an old minor.
  23. It's not currently possible, no. However, may be an option at a later date. We'll have to look in to it.
