It sounds like the user is not doing the required recaptcha to post the review. If you don't have scripts enabled in your browser, you need to, as that allows the recaptcha script to be seen. Without doing the recaptcha, the review won't post, a new story won't post, a number of things cannot be done.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Just like with any game, it takes dedication, lol. Now, I just gotta upgrade my vidcard so I can join my clannies at sea and start SINKING people again.

Left over flame review
DemonGoddess replied to Ezriee's topic in Review boards/AN Chapters/Excessive AN fixed
Like I explained to Melrick, the utility for us to be able to remove this sort of thing from the board itself doesn't want to work quite right. So, it still needs posted up, and then I go through and kill it in the database direct. You're right, the user was deleted as a flamer. And, this points out that sometimes the utility we use for deletion leaves stray bits behind, so I will have to also go through and look for orphans in the tables again, and make sure that they're toasted. -
LOL, well, it's fixed again. Sorry for the delay. What game is that you're featuring in your siggy?

the advantage of being in his guild....it's not automatic death for me...

This would be part of the new stuff being written, and wouldn't be incorporated in the current scripting, I'm afraid.
-
LOL, you guys.... I've been a bit swamped with some extra work stuff, and with the economy the way it is, I don't EVER turn down extra work. BUT, I have this on my "to do" list for the weekend.

This one is SPECIAL This one has a problem with understanding clear communications. We (collectively) have deleted this person over SEVENTY TIMES from the archive. Whether using the shadowninja88 login, or lightninja64. Newest, and hopefully LAST profile is here.

It's, as you said, a time factor this time. All of us have been very busy with real life stuff. Me ESPECIALLY, and as I'm the one who generally tends to do the every other day check, there is your problem. I do have it on my "to do" list for today, to check on all the stories, but I'm also STILL trying to get a workaround for the mail server which is sending, but not receiving any mail other than whatever is sent to a bad address. If I don't get a workaround for that, I've got a temp mail address set up which I'll have to then edit in the scripts so that we GET the email that we should be. And, I've got things to fix here in the forum as well, from where I tried to upgrade it to the newest version, and it won't work (SQL version incompatibility). THOSE, at least, are relatively minor fixes. The other stuff, not so much.

No, on the wrist. It's finally better. Yes, on something going on. Damn mail server is not receiving mail, so between trying to get that sorted out, and working extra over the last several days, no time to edit the files I need to, to get this fixed. I'm hoping to get to it by the weekend.

I'm for giving an honest opinion.

About 3 weeks ago, Nexcess performed an upgrade to the mail servers they host. In that time, we went from being unable to send mail, to now being unable to RECIEVE mail. It has something to do with the MX records for the domain, and as I have no access to fix it, we're waiting on Nexcess to fix it so that they do, indeed, work again. In the meantime, I've set up a temporarily gmail address to where any mail should be sent until the hosting company fixes the issue. The email address is - afftosteam@gmail.com So, for whatever the problem is, whether it's something that the moderators can help with, or I personally can help with (i.e. forum stuff for example), or other issues, please send to the above address. As always, all my email addresses are listed in my archive profile as well, so I can always be contacted in that manner as well.

not at all, only now I'm going to have to delay this at least tonight, if not for a couple nights. Sprained my damn wrist at work, so using my right hand at all is painful.
-
I responded to your bug post about this. I expected this, there are some edits I have yet to do to completely revert the forum back to where it was pre upgrade attempt. I won't get to them until tonight, however.

Anyone who's tried to access this board has found that the upgrade was in progress. Worse, it failed. So, we will not be going to 3.x anytime in the near future. Very sorry for the inconvenience

Happy Thanksgiving. What are you thankful for?
DemonGoddess replied to Animedevildog's topic in Aimless Babble
In these tough times, that I am employed. There's a lot to be said for having a job, when jobs are scarce. -
The upgrade will be taking place over this weekend coming up. I expect that any of the modifications I have in place will very likely NOT work. This would include the arcade, the battle mod, and the casino. We'll see, but as I said, I expect they won't, as there has been a significant change in coding across the board. As a result, those modifications are not 3.x compliant yet.

Because I'm also an AnK fan, I'd have to disagree on the difficulty of writing it (I'm of the opinion it would be on the difficult side), even though I don't write at all, but read. Most of the good authors in the fandom have to work very hard to keep the characters in character, regardless of how they're twisting the world for their story. It's a complex society that is set up, as well as a complex world, if they're writing within the world. At least that's what I've observed with those stories over the years.

That's something we've actually been looking in to for the archive, to do it in such a way that it definitely shows who did, and as a thank you. However, it's not quite ready to go.

The hosting company ended up having to reset the hardware, to restore the functionality.
-
I noticed this starting late yesterday. So you all know, I've already contacted Jaxxy (as the site owner, she is the one who contacts the hosting company) to find out WHY everything is running so slowly. It's affecting just about every function on the site. From load times, to web mail. Thank you for your patience while we find out what's going on, and following that, what we can do to correct the situation, if possible, from this end.

Starting with AtS/BtVS Crossovers - Top level - Angel 2nd level - AtS/BtVS Crossovers 3rd level - FemmeSlash Het Angel(us)/Buffy Connor/Dawn Buffy/Spike(William) Slash Angel(us)/Spike(William) Angel(us)/Xander Spike(William)/Xander Threesomes/Moresomes Angel(us)/Buffy/Spike(William) Angel(us)/Spike(William)/Xander In addition, so that it is there for the data move- top level - AtS/BtVS Crossovers 2nd level -Threesomes/Moresomes 3rd level - Angel(us)/Buffy/Spike(William) All the other pair/pair plus sub sub categories are pre-existing in the buffy subdomain, except for the new one I'm making today. Because there are only three posting levels, I cannot make the pair/pair plus sub subs in the tv subdomain, so they will coexist with their upper level category at the third level. By doing this, this will make it so we can more efficiently move the data from one subdomain to another. Once the data is moved, those stories and subcategories will be deleted from the tv subdomain, as they will be "living" on the buffy subdomain after the move.
