To further protect the members who use the forum, and the forum itself, I had to add a question/answer challenge to the registration. This is because the spambots have gotten smarter, and were bypassing recaptcha, and other things already set to keep them off the forum.

Oh I know it. Thing is, this actually caused the site some issues years back, hence the using a personal one. Bugger. No real way around it.

Simple answer is that you can't. The more involved answer is that you simply add to the movies subdomain, and delete the one in originals. They're entirely different tables, so there isn't a way to move them from one table to another, easily.

The stocks associated with a member, rely on posting or points data to valuate, from the member linked to the stock.

unbekannte- As you can see, the search function has to be rewritten to accommodate the more advanced engine. The kinds of features you're talking about, would have to be written individually for each subdomain, as each subdomain has its own set of tables. The ONLY part of the search function that works across all the subdomains is the author search, as that is a centralized table for the entire archive. I think you can tell the more features I'm asked to add, the more complicated this task becomes. Let me get it working better in a general sense first, and then I can see about adding other features subdomain by subdomain.

Hi there, When you post as a guest and I have no way to verify you are the person you're wanting to delete, I do need you to email me. This is for security purposes, and to ensure that the person who is requesting the deletion actually owns the account in question.

FYI, I've actually timed the "downtime", which is an evil necessity. It's the daily back up routines you know. It starts at 4:15am EST (it's a cron, so I know the exact start time) and ends between 4:30 am and sometimes 4:40. That depends entirely on how much the database itself has been active, as far as how long it actually takes. It AVERAGES 15 minutes. On weekends, it takes on average 25 minutes. Weekends are busier, so there is more data to backup.

Generally, when an author pulls a story like that, but leaves everything else, they're reworking it for later republication. If you're talking about uploading to the archive, if the file is bigger than 50k, it will not upload. If it is in any other format than .jpg or .gif, it will not upload. It's also possible you uploaded it, and simply can't FIND it. Some reasons for that, and the BIGGEST one, would be that when I go through and routinely delete the uploads where the file name exceeds the 15 character limit. I don't look at the avatars, I simply delete them by character count. Those very, VERY long file names make it difficult to find anything, so are always deleted.

I was actually waiting for this. So, I will simply re-ban the ONE IP I unblocked. That will hopefully kill this.
