Yeah, makes you wonder exactly what the email providers are up to. Especially since it’s not just us.

Yes, I’m well aware. But as I mentioned, I love getting emails because I can check them when my internet sucks.

I think it’s not just this site that’s having the problem. The other site FF is constantly asking me to confirm that it’s okay to get emails from them because email providers are doing this too. Not sure how I can fix this on the provider side.

No worries, I only really like the fact of getting an email because my weekend access to internet isn’t great. Which means that I would love to know what to do on Monday.

Hey, so… I asked about this previously although I can’t seem to find the topic to reply to for some reason. I asked about getting an email when I receive new reviews on the archive for my stories. I was told to go to my profile, update my information to confirm emails, which I did. Since then, I got a new review and I did not receive an email. Just curious what’s that about. What I can do to potentially fix it, if anything.

Yeah, this is why I don’t post before I actually write it out or am very long way into it. I’m not yet writing it because I’m focused on other stories. This one I’m talking about may or may not end up on AFF. It could go either way. Basically, I’ve just written down a bunch of plot points. I think I’ve outlined the overall story. Now it’s about filling in the little details. But how the first chapter ends will affect how the characters will act and how the audience might view the characters.

Okay, I just want to make sure I don’t do anything I’m not supposed to. Do you use a specific part of the forum? I’ve seen a few people posting on here with the title “Review Replies” along with the title. But I think it’s supposed to go in a specific forum place.

So, I’m still sorta figuring out things on the archive and the forum. My understanding is that review replies is a thing and I think that I created one for my stuff posted. But is there things I shouldn’t do? Should I take a screenshot and put it on the forum so people know who I’m responding to? Copy and paste the review? Mention the person or not? Like I said, still trying to figure things out but I had a few reviews that I thought about responding to but couldn’t figure out what the right way to do it is.

Yeah, I definitely think I have some aspects of that although I haven’t worked out all of them yet. Like I mentioned, it’s more like the main character is into a gaslighting scenario. The person she’s involved with keeps saying one thing in private and then doing things in public which makes things confusing. But the reason why is the mystery.

For sure, I do a lot of stuff. But for mysteries in particular, it’s a good idea to know what you’re doing before going into it. Because you have to think it through to make sure your audience wants to know what the ending is.

Well thank you for caring enough to respond. This is definitely what I’m struggling with in many ways. Part of the reason I worry is that the end of the mystery is something that could tip fans of the fandom off if I accidentally tease too much. I’m just using the mystery in a different way and putting forward a pairing that didn’t officially happen in the show/fandom. It was only kinda hinted at. The way I have thought about the end of the first chapter is that a character is alone and hears a sound. What that sound will be and what it reveals about what happens between chapter 2 through however long the story ends up being. Although from my more detailed outline, the reveal might not happen in the final chapter. The last few chapters though will be dealing with the reveal of what it is.

Once again I’m coming up with stories and starting to outlining them while working on other stuff. It’s rather fun, but I could use a suggestion. The fandoms under which I usually write aren’t mysteries. This new one is more mystery oriented. Now I’m trying to figure out how much mystery is too much mystery. The fandom is sorta famous for seemingly random mysteries. For showing the audience just enough to be curious but not enough to really tell you anything until the end. What I’m writing is sorta like a gaslighting scenario. I introduce the idea of a mystery at the end of the first chapter but don’t reveal that the mystery is even happening until the very end. Although I wonder how much I should tease that there’s an ongoing mystery. Or if I should just go along as if the mystery isn’t happening. Thoughts?

Well yes but I guess I’m trying to figure out what counts as thinking like a human or an animal. I’ve seen examples of animals becoming more human or entirely like but only speak in simple terms. For instance, one example I saw in a different fandom than what I’m writing for now, had a rabbit turned into a human completely. However, they still thought like humans. The reasons they were changed is because they wanted to “do it like bunnies”. Which the rabbit turned human did with a human woman.

Based on what I’m writing, I don’t believe they would be weirded out of it.

Well what I mean is a human transformed into a demon with scales or with the head of a dog who instead of speaking like a normal human, they speak in simplistic terms.

So you’re thinking in terms of if they have a physical body similar to a human or human like?
