  1. I suppose that can also be fun.
  2. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that. It’s more about the impact that it has on readers. The number of times that people say “I really hope they end up together and have a happy ending” is kinda fun. So I tend to try and give people a little of what they’re after before taking it away from them. That’s part of what concerned me about prompted the original question. My story for like the last story was basically one negative turn of events after another. I sorta created an artificial happy ending. But the readers knew it was a false happiness. The main character had turned evil and was kinda “torturing” people even if they didn’t know they were being tortured. Which means I was “torturing” the audience. Or I thought I was anyway.
  3. Yes, I have a habit of doing this too. Usually my characters are happy right before things go wrong and destroys their lives.
  4. That’s good for them. I’m sure the females on the receiving end of those benefits enjoy them.
  5. That can sound like fun. I’ve had tragic endings to stories, but not really nightmarish or having to live forever with suffering. I suppose technically my most recent story has an aspect of this, but through a multiverse perspective.
  6. Well even fictional women deserve to be fully satisfied. Plus, in my stories many of the characters are supernatural in nature, so they can handle more than the regular person. It would take more to leave them satisfied.
  7. Yes, I totally get that. I don’t usually go in the erotica direction. But when I write more long form stories, usually a love story, I make a conscious effort to build up emotional and sexual tension, leading to only a single love making scene towards the end of the story. In sequels that might be less of a concern, but definitely in the first story there’s unresolved sexual tension.
  8. Well I definitely do my best to have plot in my writing, even in stuff being put forward here. Recently looked this up because I was curious, I usually have at least 5-10 pages of plot before any actual sex happens between characters. Often times kinda outlining the story leading up to what’s about to happen. Why they’re in the situation they’re in, etc. In most cases, I have internal monologues people are having, either from a First POV or Third POV. So it’s usually pointing out how they feel as well. Good to know that there is a limit. I assumed as much, but wasn’t entirely sure. Probably part of why I tend to have only one orgasm per story for the main character. Though as I said, I try to make it mostly realistic.
  9. Well in the context of the question, I’m mostly speaking of stories that would be posted here on this site. Which would be more close to straight up porn. I haven’t encountered too many stories on this site that have a lot of build up. Usually sex happens in multiple chapters, but often they are different sexual situations. But I’ve thought about my own writing where a female character is having sex with multiple partners. Partly I was wondering in terms of sexual performance. Most men get really tired after a single orgasm, but it usually takes a while to recover. So is it that way with women? Haven’t had the opportunity to actually test the theory in reality, but it wouldn’t make sense if a woman has the capacity to have multiple orgasms that you would get tired after the first one.
  10. Curious how you define “dash of infinity”. As in the horrible ending goes on forever?
  11. I don’t have the physical attributes to actually do this type of thing if I wanted to. But I’m curious if this is something that people who do actually enjoy it? Or is this something that just gets put out there by people in writing and porn?
  12. I totally get that. I started out that way but also things went weird in the early days of the internet where I accidentally put my real name out there. Yahoo Groups that no longer exists sometimes showed my real name. So I have generally put my stuff out under my real name. Though I generally don’t put it out on Facebook and other social media. Even my newsletter is under my real name but I only share it in groups but not on my main profile. Almost none of my friends or family is aware of what I’m doing, even under my real name. The few people who have discovered it, generally don’t share it anywhere.
  13. Technically, some people are doing that… like me. It might come as a surprise but… my name isn’t actually Deadman. While my non-erotic content is under my real name.
  14. Totally makes sense I suppose. Like I said, these people who post entire chapters feels weird. Because people won’t necessarily click through. After all, everything is right there.
  15. I’m not so much looking to do it. But it seems like more than a few other people are. I just don’t understand the desire to do it personally. I would prefer to get people to read it on a place that would give you better information. For instance, I have a newsletter that I write but republishing a recent piece directly on Facebook doesn’t make sense. I want people to read it in email/website.
  16. Yeah, probably pretty quickly although I know some of us write more long form story based fanfic too. In such a scenario, you could post that on Facebook. Which is what I was curious about. I just don't understand the need to post stuff like that directly on Facebook or any social media. Though you might actually be able to post this stuff on Twitter since they’re more relaxed about this stuff. Supposedly they have a new feature where you can create more long form content on the platform.
  17. Recently, I noticed a few people who are posting entire chapters of their fanfic directly on Facebook as a way to try and promote their work. Obviously these things aren’t necessarily for more adult content but it’s often the opening chapter. This seems really weird to me personally. So I’m curious what people do to promote their content. Either here or elsewhere.
  18. @InvidiaRed Just FYI, if you’re interested, there’s a new chapter up. https://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/topic/72502-scooby-gang-time/?do=findComment&comment=446333
  19. Chapter 7 is up today after a bit of a break. Valued Imports featuring Anya Jenkins Summary: Alone at the Magic Box in the middle of the night, Anya comes across a very special piece of merchandise that causes her desires to become more real.
  20. For sure, I was more using it as an example. The reason why I didn’t bring it up initially is because I was wondering if people tended to write happy endings because they’re more popular or if people tend to get turned off by tragic/not yet happy endings.
  21. I appreciate the thoughts. For context, the story which prompted this question was a 5 part story in which the main character starts out sorta innocent and conflicted existentially about her future. Over the course of the story, she makes bad decisions that lead to worse and worse outcomes for her. Until the point that she becomes the villain of the story. I would understand why it might not be for everyone. How the ending kinda would feel bad for people who enjoyed the story at the beginning.
  22. Well I just saw today that they liked one of my other stories. So it’s not necessarily the grim third option. Also, they left a comment early on that they really liked my stuff. Though it was the only comment they made. Which is definitely helpful, if not constructive necessarily. I guess it’s most likely that they weren’t a fan of where the story was going to end, or stopped briefly.
  23. Part of the reason I ask is because I had a reader who is reading one of my long form narrative stories. Within the space of a week, they read every chapter of the story. I know this because they liked almost every chapter and I got a notification. But they got to around 10 chapters from the end of the story and stopped liking the chapters. The story didn’t really have a happy ending. One could argue it’s an “everything is terrible/life is suffering” ending. So part of me wonders if having a not happy ending is what caused them to stop. Maybe they did finish the story but didn’t like the last few chapters. Which makes me curious about what caused this change.
  24. Ah, I think some of my stuff can be classified as “happy for now”. I feel like it’s more emotionally satisfying to just let things be open or uncertain because it’s more real.
  25. What would you consider a happy for now ending? As in, they could be happy at some point in the future but aren’t right now?
