  1. Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but I’m wondering about it. A story that I have has been saying “Currently Reading 2” for a while. I think probably about a week and a half now. Maybe people just really love my story but I wonder if this gets updated regularly or if this is just an example of people reading it. I suppose I’m just curious to know how to read the stats themselves.
  2. Stick Handling Chapter 9 is now up featuring Winifred Burkle Summary: “It's my boys. I haven't had this many big strapping men at my bedside since that night with the Varsity Lacrosse team... That was a joke.” – Winifred Burkle Based in part around the above quote from the show, Winifred Burkle finds herself at lacrosse camp trying to help the team. They have other plans for how she can help them build team cohesion.
  3. New chapter is up now featuring Winifred Burkle titled “Stick Handling”.
  4. That’s true. For context, the character’s boyfriend broke up with them because she cheated on him and the boyfriend is a personal trainer. So the female character is trying to get the buy in of his colleagues as a way to convince him to take her back. They make her do all kinds of exercises to prove her love for him. Leading to… fun times. I think what makes sense to use the videos of the actress working out, it allows me to see what the character could physically accomplish and what would be too much. Because they’re the same physically, and there isn’t any super powers or anything that would make it different.
  5. Yes, it’s definitely something they’re posting on their own social media. Which they obviously intended to get out there. But yeah, I see them using a particular exercise machine, or lifting certain types of weights, and I think, that would be an interesting way of describing the scene.
  6. That’s sorta the way I feel but at the same time I understand that the character and the actor are different people. The actor might do something as a character that they wouldn’t do in real life. Not just saying certain things and all that, but also how they might work out. At the same time, they’re physical representations of the characters. I was sorta having this discussion with someone previously. An actor who was a superhero on TV who had a suit made for them, could have their own suit made even if the original suit or what created them was destroyed after the show was cancelled or movie is over and won’t get a sequel. Because they were the ones who wore it, they can have a mould of the suit made based on their physical characteristics. Even if they don’t play that character anymore.
  7. You’re probably sick of me creating so many topics by now, but here’s another. Been putting some thought into an upcoming story, featuring a female character working out at the gym. What is interesting though is the actress who plays the character has been posting videos of themselves working out at a gym. I’ve been sorta making notes without the influence of the actress’ social media feed for most of it. Yet now I’m wondering if I should take a look at the various videos or photos and use them as reference points. Have any of you done something like this? Why or why not?
  8. I would’ve thought that The Boys would be the obvious choice.
  9. I’m in the middle of writing something and I noticed that I have been very unstructured in how I refer to a particular character. They’re the mayor of a town and in canon we know their full name. But when I write about them I often use just a piece of their name. For instance: “Mayor John Smith says” “Mayor Smith declares” “Mayor John suggests” “says John Smith” Part of me worries that while I have established their full name within the context, if I’m constantly switching like that, I might confuse the audience. How do you go about figuring out this problem? Or do you not worry about it?
  10. Yes, generally speaking. My browsers are set so that any time I close the browser, it deletes all cookies. So I tried it again today and the same thing happened.
  11. It’s not as serious an issue as originally thought. Looks like it’s specifically messenger pop up and appears to be only me who has this problem. @Desiderius Price appears to be able to use the pop up without an issue.
  12. All right, @WillowDarkling, it looks as though the problem is limited to the Messenger pop up option and not the main website messenger option.
  13. Though it’s looking like it is possible if I quote you in the message. There’s a chance it depends on what type of way I message you.
  14. @WillowDarkling Okay, made an attempt and it looks like what happened is that my first attempt at a message went through, but attempts to respond a second time, it didn’t go through.
  15. Thanks. It’s possible that it had to do with the topic, assuming there’s some kind of filter? We spoke about something like this: I’m testing out messaging them again with a new topic. Just in case that was the problem.
  16. Is Belle like the character from Beauty and the Beast? I assume given that it’s called “Hamster and Gretel” that it’s like Once Upon a Time.
  17. Well I’ve always found money problems to be a good suggestion. Seems rather obvious though. It’s a question of how to go about it.
  18. Hmm, weird thing going on with my account. I was in discussion with another member and for some reason, my messages are coming out as blank. Can’t seem to figure out why and I’ve tried it a few times and it doesn’t work.
  19. I’m not someone who watched it, but from what little I know, I assume Penny would probably be someone to get on there. Might even do really well.
  20. So, @Desiderius Price were having this discussion elsewhere but we wanted to move it to another forum. There have been a few stories about characters in a fandom which ends up working at a gentleman’s club/ladies club. I actually wrote one involving the main character being somewhat “trapped” into becoming a stripper. However, I don’t think I have ever seen a story about a character becoming an OnlyFans model. Making money by doing all kinds of things. Most of my fandoms are either early internet or before something like OnlyFans were a thing. So it would be difficult to make it work. Maybe one of my fandoms, but not sure I could read it. What fandoms would make sense for someone to become an OnlyFans model?
  21. Well I’m thinking more in the sense of, most of my main fandoms are early internet/before social media. Except maybe one, Riverdale. I suppose you could have one of the characters decide to get an only fans account. But I kinda feel like a gentleman’s club is a more obvious story line. In fact, technically Riverdale does have a gentleman’s club/adult entertainment business.
  22. For sure, and I’ve made an attempt at the idea of a day job but those seemed to have dried up or get filled by younger people than me.
  23. Working at gentleman's/ladies clubs is something that happens a lot in content on archive. Though I don’t think I’ve seen anyone who has gotten an only fans. Not even sure if there’s a fandom which would have the opportunity to do it.
  24. Yes but what I tend to find is people who say “Hey, we can’t pay you right now but if you generate revenue for us, we’ll pay you for it.” or something along those lines. I’ve been having this argument about writing in particular, but it doesn’t happen in just writing. For some reason, in writing people are expected to do free work on the promise of future financial success. The way I’ve put it is “No one ever says come work at this retail outlet for 10 years for free and if you do a good job, I’ll think about paying you at some point”. It happens more often in writing, but increasingly I’m seeing it in other opportunities.
