It is fascinating, those who write directly into the little editor in the archives, rather than using another program and copy-n-paste it in. I use Libreoffice (it’s free), simply because I don’t write it in one sitting and it takes time to write, and I always like to have copies on my hard drive, including some intermediary drafts. AFF isn’t a backup service – though we’d all be thrilled if this happens to save your stories after a personal disaster (ie, fire, armageddon, angry ex).

Of the sins, that’s one I understand as that’s what kindled my writing bug (an unofficial continuation of another fic because I was impatient for what came next), and didn’t really comprehend the infraction at the time. Those fics, though, are not and will not be posted on AFF.

Since I try to evaluate plausibility when I write, to me, a sudden event, like assault, rape, murder, etc, that it produces a change fast is plausible. To have a character, instead, read a self-help book, that would call for a more gradual shift, IMO. Of course, a character can have different reactions as they absorb/process it, so some changes rapid, others taking time to evolve.
