Tamper-Resistant outlet: 0, Me: 1. Victory! (well, it helped to remove the stupid thing and put in a proper one.)

This morning, I was almost done with replacing my kitchen microwave (over-the-range, so some minor work required), when the plug wouldn’t go into the outlet, despite having test fitted it earlier. The “tamper-resistant” part is a “safety-feature” to keep kids from putting things into it, supposed to be spring loaded to let in a plug but not a butter knife. Fortunately, I had a spare outlet laying around w/o this nuisance “feature” and replaced it. Seems to me that “child-proof” features seem designed to let the kids in and keep the adults out.

need advice for writing emotional devastation

The reactions in this case can be so different depending on the character, that’s what makes it tough to respond. For instance, are they the type that feel they can’t repay, and are so guilt ridden they jump off a bridge, figuring it to be justice? Or, will they guilt the victim because it happened (ie. if the victim wore less revealing clothing)? -

I saw totality, and...it’s different from partial.

Oh, I know, and I wish we had been able to see totality in real life, and not via the NASA feed.

Cameras, or at least mine, don’t have the dynamic range to do it justice. At least I did get a couple of decent pictures though.
