I do understand what you're suggesting, but I don't know if the archive code will support a blog-style tagging system. I know that other archives are experimenting with the idea, but again, not being the coder, I can't say for sure what's coming. In the meantime, we do make an effort to try and at least provide the tools for users to narrow the search parameters a bit.

Many authors announce updates via email or on Twitter. At the moment, the archive does not offer an alert feature, and I do not know if that is part of the new code that is being implemented over the next few months. If it is, it will be announced with all due fanfare.

Tags are actually a part of the story summary, and therefore searchable in the archives. In larger archives, there are categories for het, slash, femmeslash, and certain pairings.

We've begun the rollout of new code to update the archive, and as part of that process, all users are having to go through a validation process. To make this easier, we recommend you start here and follow the instructions to clear your cookies and cache. Then you need to follow these instructions to log in properly for the first time.
