This is one feature I also have my fingers crossed for the returning

Go to your control panel, select 'Edit' for the story domain, then select 'edit chapter'. On the next screen select the first chapter from the drop down menu, this will then populate a small box labelled 'chapter title' with the existing title and you can edit it there.

Give authors the ability to let others download their work.

They've caught loads of folks red handed. Hence, hall of shame. People remember the good shit. And get mad. MAAAA-AD. But, yeah, it's easy as pie to copy any story on here anyway, the extra functionality would make little extra difference to anybody who wanted to get copies. That doesn't include me, I'd have nowhere to keep them. My hard drive is full of pictures of Tilda Swinton in drag. It's a sickness I tells you. ...of course, as a pornographer I am freed from any constraints of the artistic cycle so I wouldn't know about that stuff anyway. Lacking any form of artistic merit is a freedom! -
The question of what makes people review, ...again
JayDee replied to attackegg's topic in Writers' Corner
Yeah, it does certainly make sense - as well as what you've said, on AFF at least, the new chapters put the story back to the front page of the sub domain/the story section, meaning that there's more chance of readers seeing it and getting into the ongoing adventures! Not me though - I'm probably a hypocrite but I try (and sometimes fail) not to start reading multiparters until they are finished these days. I don't like missing the ending if someone stops writing through time/lack of interest/lack of motivation/attack by egg rabid camel Awesome. And maybe the new Hobbit movie will give LOTR fandom a jumpstart amongst fans of the hairy toed -

...Oooh! off topic trivia! I only recall the site back to when it already had all of the catagories, but before it was split to subdomains, what was the original 'verse? Was it dear old Buffy? Kinda funny, AFF and tvtropes both growing outa the same fandom Also, yeah, further to previous, my multipart stories seemed to draw more reviews than oneshots mostly. One exception being a oneshot in a ridiculously popular fandom. -
Right, so you mean the cartoon lolicon Jinx from the cartoon. The original Jinx from the Teen Titans comics was very different, she's the one I know.

Comics Jinx? She of the loincloth Bikini?

All the best stuff is on AFF. Something pinged in the back of my mind, and I recalled this thread which I'd posted in: http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/index.php/topic/26618-hermione-whoreslut-recs/ "hermione-whoreslut-recs" I think some of the links there still work and sound to be on topic?

Two things: 1) I misread that second one and thought "I'd totally read about a madgod's cow of time"* 2) Not quite sure what it is you want recommending - Hermione wasn't remotely slutty in that old fic of mine. She was horrifically gangraped because the male characters were evil shits who didn't like her being more powerful and more successful and making them look bad by comparison. I'm guessing you're looking for more of that sort of thing rather than sort of slutty (ie, acting like a male) behavior? If so, I thought I had some suggestions for fics in that vein but they seem to have been taken down! Sorry about that. I'm sure someone else could help though. *I'd set it in the Elder Scrolls universe. There would be cheese. The cheese made from the milk of the cow of time gives you nightcows. MOOO FOR THE MADGOD.

Congratulations! And if movies have taught me anything, you can now go on a road trip and outwit a dastardly redneck Sherriff!

Thanks for asking, but that's just the way the site is - their policy is to only remove stories if the people in them or their representatives take legal action. Seemed okay at the time I submitted stories, but that was before I thought properly about it. As I say, my own fault. Frankly, it wouldn't matter now if they did change their policy, because back when I uploaded celeb stories there they were all behind an "must be over 18, must follow site rules" etc screen, but sometime after I'd asked about having them removed the story pages were made indexable by google and other bots, and three or four ad farm type sites ripped the whole site and uploaded all the stories elsewhere, to get google searches for the celeb names to come to their sites and get ad revenue, or however that shit works. They don't even respond to "Please consider removing this fucked up shit from your site" emails. I discovered this on one of the occasions I googled my email to see if my stories were getting mentioned anywhere (I also occasionally google random lines from stories to see if they've been plagiarised, like that one I ranted about a while back which someone had changed to be about Sue Storm from my Tomb Raider story). These days if I was thinking of a real person and I had a story idea I would say to myself 1) It's the idea that matters, why not apply it to a fan story or b) and original story. I mean, you could have an original character who looked like a walking corpse with a large bulge in their pants, and it would only matter to the author that the story was orginally inspired by a picture of David Bowieor something. Look at all of the published fictional characters based on the creator liking someone's style! John Constantine - Sting, Ultimate Nick Fury - Samuel L Jackson etc etc... BW - Thanks also... I just think that really is too young to be linked to my stories.

...Some asshole found some of my old RPF stories on a site from which I was unable to get them removed when I stopped writing RPF - presumably looking for something to jerk off too, since it is entirely a sex stories site - and sent one of them to a young fan of the person in question. Cue very upset email from child. It's things like this that, a) Make me wonder if even though I wrote the shit back then I'm not as fucked up as the people passing it on... I mean 15... fuck. b) Make me regret even more writing RPF stuff in the first place. Rant this may be, I'm not complaining that AFF hosts RPF or that people write it, you folks do what you want and I wish you all the best. Even back five or six years ago you'd only find the stuff if you went looking for it... now google has everythring, and all it takes is somebody emailing it to a kid fan, or, hell, tweeting to the famous person or their family directly... and they're hacked off, and the kids are frankly damaged. Even worse in this case as the person in the story died tragically a few years after I wrote it. I would genuinely argue it's a form of abuse to send something like that to a kid. It makes me so angry. So I had a quick search to see if links to the story are anywhere else... and, yes, it's started being linked on that famous 140 character message site. More upset fan emails due shortly, I suspect. I brought it all on my self by writing RPF years back, and I accept that, but I still feel real angry that someone would link a kid to it. I've ALWAYS had warnings, and codes, and blatant non-vague descriptions on my stories so you wouldn't mistake them for WAFF. Except for the occasional WAFF piece. Which somehow got mistaken for Gorn. RRRAAAGGHH. Okay. Done ranting now. And those of you who are writing RPF... never forget how easy it is for someone to send it to the person or their family now. Just a rant. RPF writers, truely, not having a go at you or your stories. It's my shit alone that causes me shit.

Oh, you're adorable! Starting a post like that with the line: Too funny. You Sir and/or Madam have made my day. The whole post is so expertly crafted. I especially like the bit where you give an opinion that folks on discussion forums should only give opinions if asked for opinions... when not asked! But it's pretty much all high class 'net flamewar bait (heck, vintage - I recall variations of "I'm not sure you have the mental capacity to understand it" on usenet). I salute you! And you should totally write riddles. I'm gonna have to risk being interpreted as peevish again and echo that wishing well in the future to you. I know it's hard to tell on the internet but this is totally not sarcasm, or even snark. G'luck!

Yes, shame on the admin for that brief summary telling folks what happened. What they needed was something like a professional writer would put, like old dexy's statement as, uh, admin/host of her own site: "I knew how petty and evil-minded the admins over on AFF really are." Wait, what? Surely not! Based on your statement about how admins should act on their sites I expected to see nothing more than "I am no longer with that site." Now, I know little of these things but from what you've told us that doesn't seem terribly professional does it? Almost, well... petty? Gosh! Petty! Yeah, we'll go with that. Maybe... and this is just speculation, you understand, maybe stating a user is removed for ToS violations, and listing the violations - much like we see in clubs and such - without adding personal ad hom attacks... maybe that is the professional way to do it? I'm just being snarky.

Review for the horsecocktastic Centaur Mother I have another, entirely seperate story with Lara and a dog. It's slightly more morally repugnant! Thanks for your review, and I am glad you enjoyed this short bit from the days of my weekly prompt attempts The technicalities of the birthing... woman, centaur foalaby (is it a foal? is it a baby?) I'm sure the ancient Greeks had an idea or two...

What the fuck is my last post about? I genuinely don't want to click back and see if it made any kind of sense in context! Review for Bart the Ripper II: Mothersnuffer I don't think I ever saw that episode. I'm not one of those people who hates the simpsons these days, just never seem to get around to watching the show like I did back in the ninties. While it's always nice to hear feedback on things I've written, I really don't think I will be writing a sequel to this story. I did a much later Bart/Marge short story that I was much happier with - bondage, but no violence. Frankly this is one of the stories I sometimes feel like I shouldn't have written. Someone else did a story in the same story continuity once after asking, though I can't recall the title. Ahh well. Life goes on. Thanks for your review!

Pretty much sums up 90% of my reviews anyway!

I didn't say you couldn't use it! I just suggested possible confusion was something to consider
-
The only problem you'd have there would be if folks confuse it with a fanfic already using that phrase as a title? http://quizilla.teennick.com/user/SorrowMikeDirntluvr/
