I gotta agree with this 100%. "Cheating" constituted by the two partners. As an example...I have been with my partner for nearly 25 years. If he wants to go to strip clubs (with other men), look at internet porn, watch porn movies, it wouldn't bother me at all. If he went out to dinner alone with a female, that would bother me. If he went to a strip club alone, that would bother me. If he contact strange women on the internet that would probably bother me. But at the same token he is much the same way. If I want to go to a male strip club with some girlfriends, it wouldn't both him. If I want to watch gay porn or straight porn, it wouldn't bother him. Same with writing stories here on AFF and having erotica published that anyone can read. Doesn't bother him. As to either of us "flirting" with someone else, why would we? We love each other. No other man turns me on as much as he does. And he knows he always has my love and loyalty above anything else. When I was younger I was more easily jealous if he went to strip clubs or watched porn movies alone. Now, I'm like "Meh, no biggie." After 25 years if you on't TRUST your partner, then what the fuck is the point, ya know? Now if I was a partner who say, DID mind if I went to a male strip club with other girlfriends, then I wouldn't do it. As long as he followed the same rules. None of this double standard shit... But I also made sure to get a partner who's morals, loyalty, and soul was much along the same as me. No conflics, ya know? I had two other men propose to me and I politely turned them down because I knew it wouldn't last. That they were not partners I could grow OLD with, that they were not "Best friends". Ya gotta be Best friends with your partner before you can be anything else. So yes, what consititues as cheating varies from couples to couples. I know some couple who don't mind swinging (screwing other partners) as long as the the person is there (like a 4 some). But would get raving jealous if their partner visited one of the other couples alone. I also know some couple where NOTHING is barred (open relationship) and some couple who say it's a sin if the other partner even TALKS to someone else. It all varies!

Ah geeze, I think I began writing (on pen and paper) stories when I was around 8 yrs old? Never where they cute stories either, always stories about serial killers and the gruesome ways they murdered their victims. Of course my parents thought I was schizoid, and I talked to a bunch of school phsychologist most of my school years... Phsychiatrist: "Now WHY do you like writing about the hitman torturing Suzie Creamcheeze?" Me: "Um, because I do?" By age 16 they (the system, parents, etc) had me on enough phych drugs to tranq an elephant but still it didn't kill my creativity and I was prolific writing tons of 100 page novels that I kept hidden. It wasn't until I was like around 19/20 that I found and discovered BDSM (gotta remember this was not now, no computers then, couldn't find like souls). So most classmates I showed my stories too were either horrified, thought I was one sick puppy or just mumbled a polite "Well you write really good, bet you'll be the next Stephen King." I soon learned to SAY What the system wanted me to say. Be a sheep, be a Borg...(Me write evil, smutty stories??? No way! Never!) and then they finally stopped all the heavy duty psych drugs and counselling. From then on whatever I wrote i kept secret (but I was a voracious reader too, of horror, thriller and crime novels). Learned to be real trusting of who I shared my stories with, until I met a wonderful soulmate who actually admired my creativity. He might not get INTO all the same stuff I do, but he is my bumber one fan. Once I actually got two stories published with real publishers, the nay-sayers shut the hell up. (Of course by now, the world had read authors like Stephen King, Dean Koonts, and hundreds of other famous authors who wrote dark, evil things as well.) When I meet people I really don't tell them I write erotica, some of the people I have published stuff for would have no idea of the stuff I have published under a pseudo-name. Now-a-days of course it is perfectly fine to be eccentric, creative, angsty, chaotic and dark. In fact if your not people look at you with suspicion! My brother knows all of what I write, and he always has. But then I grew up knowing from age 5 he was gay and I always protected and loved my little brother, still do. He always would come to me first with a problem over anyone else. My Dad never accepted him and my dad died "young" at age 49 of osteosarcoma. He was diagnosed and less than 6 months later he was dead. Without going into details I basically disowned my Mother (choosing not to see her or have her in my life) for nearly 15 years. Only now am I slowly reaching out in letters trying to bridge the gap, but even then there is only so much I would tell her. She's not to be trusted. Anyways, that is my humble opnion and story.

The only way I do my RPGing is face to face with live gamers using all the funky dice (d6's, d20's, percentile, etc) we do RPGing in all aspects (from Futuristic type settings to AD&D to you name it). But yes, there are always newbs who pop up on boards, and like anywhere else, I think some like to troll or just get fights going. Some times you can guide them, some times you just beg the mods to shut 'em up, sometimes you just (for the sake of your own sanity!) gotta ignore them and let everyone else know to ignore them too. I agree wholeheartedly and this is what I always say in my posts where the M/F vs Yaoi or fanfic vs original topics come up. People, read what you LIKE, there is no "right or wrong". If someone wants to write Yaoi- It's their right If someone wants to write Snuff- It's their right If someone wants to write -Lamia's and Naga's doing it <wink to Keith> IT'S THEIR RIGHT! One persons "crap" is another persons "pure genius" and favorite story. Authors (all of us) have ego to some extent, in that we feel our writing our characters our stories are part of us. So of course no one wants flames or bad feelings or someone leaving a "OMG! this soooo sux!" for a review. Again; whether a reader or an author...USE your codes. Use the search. You will find what you want. Personally I don't really notice that there are more M/M Harry Potter vs. M/F Harry Potter (or insert whatever category). If I see a story I check the codes and summary. If it doesn't look like my cuppa tea I leave it be. As Jaxxy said, what makes AFF so wonderful is it doesn't "have" to be all about sex. Violence, drug use, gore, vore, snuff, fluff, puff, Lamia's, hetero, homo, trans, pansexual, bi, tri, furry's, blurries...ALL of it can exist on here. But above all, the important thing is to at least respect someones right to write something OR ask a question. Who is to say what is bad writing and what isn't? Have I read some stories with poor grammar and syntax? Yes. Some I found had great plot lines or just hot scenes. Some didn't. But what is arousing to me, might bore Jaxxy to tears. If everyone was the same, what would be the point? As a famous Vulcan once said: IDIC...Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations. Eh?

Yeah judging people sucks. It does... Sadly it goes on all the time. Put in our heads by the media, our parents our upbringing or even just our own brains. Judging against overweight people, people of color or a certain ethnic background, judging of peoples sexual orientation (or celibacy) judging of peoples disabilities. It all sucks, sadly it will never change. (I'm old and grumpy and in a crabby mood). All you can do against the pre-judging that goes on all around us is the following... 1) Be true to yourself. Be your own person and be honest with yourself. Don't be a "pretender". 2) Follow the "Golden Rule"...That great Karmic flow of the universe...Treat others how you want to be treated, be honest, be compassionate, don't disrespect your friends or loved ones, harm none. Yada, yada, yada... 3) If you do screw up (and we ALL do)...Don't play "victim" or "poor me"...Own up to it. Say, "Yes, I did this, I apologize if I harmed you" and then FIX it. 4) Actions ALWAYS speak louder than words. If you say your a loyal friend but then turn around and spred gossip, well....That's hypocritical now, ain't it? Act as you want people to see you and treat you. 5) Ignore the arseholes. There will ALWAYS be someone who will pre-judge you on something or hold a past wrong-doing over your head. Move on. See numbers 1-4 above. Whining how the world is treating you unfairly won't help you. Move on, stay away from those who are negative and live your life as a positive person who will make a POSITIVE impact on the life you lead. Old person's lecture is now done.

No my dreams don't become stories...But I've had the opposites. Dreams about characters I've created or like. They are (sadly) never pleasant though. Usually I am being hunted down by one of them: In one dream there was a huge deserted city (like NY or Chicago) it looked to be in ruins. Martel from my story (an OC I created who is a hitman), and he was hunting me down. I think he actually wanted to kill my husband and was using me as bait. I was running and running and sped around a corner when I ran right into Martel and he just grabbed me in his hard grasp and put a Glock pistol to my head. My husband and son where watching from around a ruined building and I remember of course being terrified. Martel said something to the effect of "Come out of I will blow your wife's brains out all over the cement". But the husband and son remained half hidden. I remember I was mad at the husband for not trying to rescue me, but my logical mind also told me what could he do? He was unarmed and Martel wanted to kill him. If he came out then my whole family would be killed horrifically. I remember Martel putting that Glock right up to my temple, how serious his face was, the coldness of the gun and the scent of gun oil. He pulled the trigger and time slowed down, I was bracing for the pain and impact I knew would come. The gun just CLICKED with a resounding and taunting noise as the hammer fell on an empty chamber. Martel then just chuckled and called out "That was just a teaser, the next time I pull the trigger it won't be empty..." He shifted the gun to my temple and I thought my heart would explode out of my chest from fear. Needless to say I woke up!!!!!!!!!! I don't have happy dreams unfortunately. All of mine are usually very terrifying and involve tornadoes destroying my home and me, strangers hunting me down, people killing or maiming my family, stuff like that. I do occasionally sleep walk and have sleep terrors, but I think alot of that bad dream crap is from growing up very physically and emotionally abused. Or maybe, I just have a screwed up brain that can't dream *nice* dreams. All of mine are sad or terrifying. Ah well...

I agree also with the others have said. Yaoi is a fetish out there, just like BDSM, D/s, or anything else.... This is what is good about AFF's "search" feature. You can type in what you are looking for (M/F, BDSM, etc) and then a bunch of stories will pop up. Good authors will put all the codes on their stories so that readers can find exactly what they want. Yaoi just isn't my thing, don;t read it and don't write it. I am just an old school writer and so most of my parirings are M/F. But Yaoi has become a HUGE phenomena on the web, and 98% of it's readers and writers are females. I have a dear, dear friend who is into Yaoi and it is all cool. I would never say anything bad about it. But when I am searching for fics to read I use the search and check out the writers codes (and/or summary- for any codes not covered). I guess that makes me the odd one out since I write M/F for original work, Soprano's fanfic and HP fanfic. My stuff is just dark, has plot and often has alot of violence in it. We (M/F) pairings and original writers are out there. Just ise the search feature in the archives.

Hi Kettle: We have a wonderful writer on AFF who does such stories his name is "Keith Inc." usually he uses the words "Shrink" or "Extreme size difference" when describing his stories of giantesses or small people. You can also use "fetish" and then "shrink" or "size" to let the readers know of a size fetish story. Warmly,

Hi, I don't really "find" names, they usually pop into my head. Those that have an appealing sounding ring to them. In the cases I need a true nationality name (Japanese, Italian, etc) then I tend to use a last name nomenclature site. (For my Italian surnames) and I pick those that 'sound' right in my head. Most names you don't want ridiculously long or hard for your reader to interpret, (unless you cheat and do the following...) "Cochran turned and said, "Well it's time for you to have a new name my apprentice, so I am calling you Kageryu." To Martels ears the name sounded like 'kah-jer-Ree-you'. "What does it mean, your not insulting me are you?" the large man idly scratched his chin. "Nope," Cochran gave a small grin while shouldering his backpack, "nothing bad. In fact the day you learn what it means will mean your tuteledge with me is finished." " So as a writer I stuck the phoenetic pronounciation in there as how the CHARACTER would here it (Martel) from Cochran. If I am writing work where that isn't possible (and it can be overused like any other gimmick) I try and pick names that most people can figure out. Above all (to me) MAIN character names should have a 'ring' to them. If they are too long, then perhaps the name has a nickname that the character is used by... Grelyalkymara would be ponderous to read over and over for the average reader...But perhaps she is simply known as "Mara" by those around her. Just my humble opinion.

This is my personal belief as well. I think Keith's post was very accurate.

The scent is the big thing with ferrets. All the ones you buy are always altered and descented, BUT, they still have a very strong "musky" smell...(Ferrets are in the same family as Skunks..Mustela) They are like waterbeds...Either you REALLY love them, or you don't. They are hard to take care of, and not all of them litter train easily. (they are also carnivores, NOT rodents) so require the same vaccines as cats/kittens. Unfortunately domestic ferrets are very susceptible to adrenal tumors and tumors of the pancreas and this is what usually kills them. Most states require them to have rabies vaccines the same as cats or dogs, but they have to have a special vaccine. Unaltered females will literally die if they are not bred, so they can be a tricky pet to take care of and not for the "beginner" (Cats are actually easier to take care of). And many ferrets perish from lack of proper care. (I used to work ferret rescue).

Ferrets are cool. I used to have two of them once, one named "Doc" and one named "Marty" they were the cutest and most hilarious critters. Sadly they died from common ferret diseases. (One was around 5 years old, and Doc passed on when he was 6.) I used to love to watch them wrestle, they would "tow" each other around by the scruff of the neck and then hop around and "dook, dook, dook" in delight. (dooking is the noise ferrets make).
