Yes, this was all part of the sql injection. First the site needs to be completely secured. THEN I can start going through individual members and fixing wherever that was changed. -
Alrighty then…
I watched Episode 5 of the Rings of Power.
There is so much wrong in this episode I don’t even know where to start!
- Mithril is not a melted Silmaril. The Silmarilli cannot be destroyed.
- Galadriel is wearing the sigil for the House of Feanor. She is not of that house. She is of the House of Finarfin.
- Tar-Miriel never went to Middle Earth. In fact, when Ar-Pharazon goes to Middle Earth, by this time, he has forced Tar-Miriel into marriage and usurped the throne of Numenor. She is supposed to be Queen Regnant, not Queen Regent.
I could go on further, but this episode has me even more furious at how they have destroyed the legendarium.

I’ll admit, I haven’t yet read the Silmarillion, but how the fuck can you fuck up a legendarium with such abundant source material?!! Like, Tolkien quite literally left us the equivalent of a guidebook…

Hollywood writers seem to think they can be Tolkien but fail. It’s a a bad fanfiction based on something they don’t even have the rights to but think they can anyway.
They’ll say things that come off fantasy-ish to a normal viewer but to the rest of us the character seems a bit stunted? Episode 5 pretty much cements galadriel knows she’s evil like a rabid dog chasing a car. And despite that the Harfoots are worse than orcs. Which makes it seem like Sauron is the one protecting the demonic critters personally.
@DemonGoddesshit the nail on the head. Durin and company are unironically the best part of the show. The sole flickering light of it even.

Where you see green on whatever part of the site you’re in, that part is actually working.

As I’m sure everyone is aware, a couple weeks ago we suffered a severe injection attack. The end result is that Manta2g has been recoding to make sure it doesn’t happen again. In the meantime, where the fixes are done, you will see green. Where you don’t see green, that part of the site remains read only. Thanks for bearing with us.

Wherever you see green in the site skin, that part is now live and fixed. Expect to see more rollouts, and the fix to be done here in the next few to several days.

Manta did all the work. I just kept her company!

We suffered an sql injection attack, which included a multitude of redirects. When Manta fixed it the first time, it happened again. We THINK we figured out the where/how of this, and she is working on that right now.

Read only mode is still in effect, yes. We think we found the source of how the injections happened, and Manta is working on that now.

Amallah, Yours looks to be activated. Be sure that you remember to enter in everything with caps where you have them, as login is case sensitive.

I actually think it may be something as simple as clearing your cookies. With the migration, cookie tweaks and a few other things, cookies definitely need to be reset. As to the blocked loading, you can fix that in your browser for the time being.

Tried a test posting of a story. it worked fine. If you could step out for me exactly what you did, perhaps I can help you find out where it went weird on you.

I tried opening chapters in several old stories, and cannot replicate the issue. Have you tried a force refresh since all the changes, and deleted your browser cache?

As with just about anything, this didn’t go as smoothly as it could have and should have, given that it’s an intracompany transfer, from Nexcess to LiquidWeb, their parent company. So, instead of finishing up by, say the 3rd, we finally finished this all up by the 19th. Having said all that, I have to say I am really excited about the change, and here’s why. SSL finally works as intended moving from Interworx to cPanel has made a huge difference. We can actually tailor PHP needs to different subdomains. For example, the forum needs 8.x, and has that version. The archive is on 7.x. Manta is working on bringing all of it up to 8.x The ability to use the later versions of both PHP and my SQL are necessary to be able to implement things that we could NOT in lesser versions. The hardware is worlds away from what we used to have. More powerful, and efficient. Much better physical virus protection Much better spam protection Mind you, Manta and I both tend to work a bunch IRL, so the SNAFU on the timeline really, really, put a wrench in things. BIG BIG thank you to Manta for carrying the load during this migration, as work, as it tends to do, wouldn’t let me have time off for much of anything. Go figure.

With the server change, backfield software change, and other things, I can talk to the coder and see if we can actually implement across the mini database like that. I doubt it, but I can ask.

The forum doesn’t have the option of saving a post as a draft, as that would cause unnecessary database loads.

I take that back. You have to clear the cache of your browser. Not the cookies, just the browsing data itself. Then press ctrl+F5 (which is refresh). Mind you, for some reason the actual home page isn’t wanting to work, but you can go to each and every subdomain and it all loads and works.

You may have to ctrl+refresh while the DNS updates and propagates

There will be downtime at 2 am EDT on July 13th to replace part of the RAID array. Also, the migration is nearly done
