Actually, since this has to do with your writing, you'd put it elsewhere (it'll be moved to there). THESE forums are for reporting instances of whatever is listed as the title of the forum. If you read the forum titles, it'll help you place your posts in the areas where they belong

AFF needs a Mobile Friendly version of the site.
DemonGoddess replied to Bats's topic in Fiction Archive
IF, we can make the new version mobile friendly we will. However, that's not a priority at the moment. So, we'll add this to the list of seeing if it'll work that way. For the forum, on your mobile, I believe you need to use the LoFi version. -
Underage confession, user "FanRape"
DemonGoddess replied to NinjaGaijin's topic in All Other TOS Violations
more like a slip of the fingers....I'll get it taken care of. -
I've gotta say, in the process of cleaning UP the archive, I've noticed a very odd (to me) review trend. Fiction I'd never give a second glance to, that most would consider CRAP gets loads of reviews. Then, you have good fiction, has a good hit count, but very little in reviews. So, I've decided when I go to look for stuff to read when I have some time free to do that again, that's going to be one of the things I'll be looking at before even clicking the story link. Because, chances are, I'll find something I like to read that way.

If you're flaming a plagiarist, does that make you a troll?
DemonGoddess replied to a topic in Trolls/Flamers/Spammers
In all actuality, techinically yes, flaming a plagiarist make the user a flamer, but not a troll. Still, it's better to not do that in the first place. -
Nope, no risk to your profile at ALL. The forum IS for discussion isn't it? We're discussing where to find good stories with a plot, and how much we'd rather see that. I have a few that I read, when I have the time, which I currently do NOT (*sniffles*), and will reread their stuff because they're damn good writers. Don't care what fandom they write in, or whatever. I'll read (or try to) anything they put up. One posts in LotR, the other in many of the Anime subcategories.

Can you really figure out someone's age by their writing?
DemonGoddess replied to shinigamiinochi's topic in Writers' Corner
No, writing quality is certainly not the best indicator of a person's age. I wish it was. It can point to the possibility of it with some, and the PROBABILITY with others, but only gives a start point as far as wanting to look closer at a given user, say. I've seen some fiction written by some young people (not here) that was very well done. Quality is quality. One either has a talent for it, or they don't. -

I actually found this one. Believe it or not, adult. Even at time of posting. -
no progress for you yet, unfortunately. I know I've not been able to find anything to say one way or another actual age yet.

We have finished in the AU and Crossovers sub categories for the buffy subdomain. Currently working in Het>Buffy/Spike(William)...we're approximately 2/3 done with sorting of that sub sub category. We will then move UP a level to Het and sort it, as the other pair specific sub subs did not exist prior to the sort in the General sub category. So, we've already eye balled them. In the process, we've also been looking for double and/or cross posted stories. For old ones, I'm simply merging the data. Where the cross post is in two different subdomains, the reviews for the deleted double will be lost. The hits and ratings will still be merged, in those for instances. We've actually only got about 1000 more stories to sort, and we're done with this subdomain. Shouldn't take too much longer.

Not a problem. I very likely won't get to what I have planned yet today, but definitely in the next day or two (have a ton of stuff I'm in the middle of). The story is already removed from public view, however.

What really gets me are the flamers that FOLLOW a writer into a section, or sub section when they don't like the pairing type don't like the pair itself don't like the genre that's listed Think about it. If the reader doesn't like that kind of pairing (you see it much more in the slash/femslash), then don't even go there. One doesn't have to be a damn brain surgeon to figure out that hey, don't like that sort of thing, so maybe, just MAYBE, I shouldn't click there, huh? Then, there's the ones that don't like a pair that's listed, because they prefer another pair. Again, doesn't take too many brain cells to figure out that if you don't like the pair, then don't click the sub sub category. That, and don't go in there just to flame people for WRITING that particular pair. Then you have genres. I expect we (my crew and I for clean up) will see more of this nature of flame review in Originals. Again, if you don't like a particular genre, then don't READ it. No one is forcing these people to look at what they don't like. They do this just to get on the authors' nerves, and discourage them from writing in the first place I think. Because they're not writing what THEY want. I have a very simple method of dealing with a story that does nothing for me, that I'm reading. I go on to something else. Not hard at all, huh?

Something I can do immediately is to at least hide the story, and keep record of a link to it for later deletion. I've also posted a comment to the LJ you linked to, asking for permission to use the screencaps. I have something in mind for this person.
