I would far rather read a good story with a plot. I like to see plot and character development. To me, a good story is one which will stand on its own, with or without its sex scenes.

Actually could make alot of sense, what you described. If you have a slow internet connection, for example, it can make it so things don't quite want to work right. Particularly if the archive is seeing alot of activity at the time of your attempt.

Considering that we are currently sorting Buffy/Spike(William) in Het at the moment, if we come across it during this, one of us will post you a link. I don't recall seeing it while we sorted through General, and set up AU>Buffy/Spike(William). I don't even remember seeing one that matches that while repairing records.

When you select file upload type, are you selecting text area, txt file, or htm file? It could be something as simple as not selecting in that dropdown. If you would, step out for me exactly what you're doing, and I'll see where exactly this isn't working right for you.

not really a way to enforce it, so much. no biggie, where we've already sorted, I check every day a few times a day and check placement of stories, as well as for unfics and such. take care of 'em at the same time. at the moment, I'm really only checking the unsorted sub domains for unfics. but fear not, when we get to sorting that archive, they WILL be moved. Aside from that, if you have a few that particularly irk you and give me the links (put 'em in the misplaced stories forum), I'll move 'em sooner.

Crossovers How we've been determining the sort and subsequent creation of sub subs is by the "world" or "worlds" that BtVS is being crossed over with. The same rule applies to this, as does for a pair specific sub sub, 10 or more stories that belong in the sub sub to be created. Again, I expect that as we sort through het, slash, femslash, that we will find more crossovers that will be moved into this sub category.

AU You'll notice there are sub sub categories where the parent category pairing type is not the primary sort, but the fact that the story is AU/AR is. So, you'll see het, slash, and quite possibly threesome+ sub subs here once we're done sorting the rest of the subdomain. It all depends upon what the author has stated in his/her story description, summaries and content. That is how we base the sorting.

heh I've got an easy fix for people who don't properly disclaim. Which, by the way, is just a part of what I'm doing while we slog though ALLLLLL this fic for the archive repair. If it's not disclaimed properly, I hide the story. For unfics, I routinely go through each and every subdomain EVERY day now, and look for them, so they can die. But back to the topic at hand.... the story codes are there for a reason. As a reader, that is exactly how I use them. If I see from story codes it's something I'm certain I'm not going to like, I don't even bother clicking the link. I'm of the opinion if one reads the summary (and that's kind of a key, reading the summary ) then one will know whether or not that story is going to be their tastes or not. It's not the AUTHOR'S fault if the user can't be bothered to read the summary. One other thing that the summary with the codes kind of gives the author an idea on (as well as where a story is placed in the FIRST place), if you get consistent flames from a certain person or two, then obviously, he/she/they are LOOKING for just this sort of thing to start flaming whoever writes it. People who do that are trolls, plain and simple.
