  1. thing is, with LOTR, the bookverse has many different ages, as you are WELL aware. . movieverse stuff is all 3rd age. I figured it sure would be easier for us book geeks to be able to find stuff with it set up that way.
  2. There was another glitch that I just fixed running a series of queries. Unfortunately, if you have an active round robin, it made it so that only the starting author can add to the story. So, to correct this and make it so it is once again a round robin story, edit your story and check the "Allow other authors to add chapters" option, and set it to yes.
  3. How most any posting software of this kind works, is that if you click the back button, what you typed in to the posting area will not be saved. Doesn't matter if it's forum software, writing software, or whatever. Something I'll do in the forum, for example, if making a very long post, is work it out in notepad or a wordprocessor or something, so that I don't lose everything if I should hit the back button by mistake, or something else which would mean all my post that I worked on, isn't THERE any more. So, for your for instance, what I'd do is just copy/paste it into notepad, and if you then find you have to do something like hit the back button, you STILL have what you want to post available to you. The thing to bear in mind, is that unlike mail software which will save drafts if you set it up that way, most software such as this works where the data you input is to be posted to a field in the database in a table. That's why when you hit the back button, it all goes away. If you post without filling in the chapter title field, it's not a big deal to begin with. It will default to the next number sequence for chapters for your particular story. Then, you can always go back and edit the chapter and change the title later if need be.
  4. yep, we'll get to 'em when we get to 'em. They will be earmarked for move, since that whole subdomain isn't even accesible through the user panels any more.
  5. I don't like this sort of thing either, personally. However, not my call to delete or not delete. ugh.
  6. You might want want to keep this particular category in mind.... General [Fics: 2164] Look at it this way. Once we finished sorting the General section in the Buffy subdomain (which started at 2600 stories there), the General category now contains 53 stories. You'd be surprised how many people don't know how to move their stories around within a subdomain. Particularly after a sub category (or sub sub category) has been created for where their story actually belongs. So, in the meantime, wading is your option. yuck. In the other meantime, I wish I COULD write creatively. I'd help ya guys in making more NOT Kagome stories. Blech.
  7. The alpha listing contains a comprehensive list as a level beneath, for the titles which fit there. The reason the top level categories are set at top level (such as Wiess Kreuz) is because of the volume of stories that are in that particular category. Have a look at this, which explains everything in depth, as well as the sequence in which the work is being done.

  11. killed that and the other four up as well.
  12. that's definitely taking things too far.
  13. you got links to your troll? (Is hoping he/she left reviews) if so, I'll see what else I can find.
  14. deleted the list fic, am moving this to the trolls section. Looking at the rest of 'em, looks rather trollish to me.
  15. Thanks! This'll certainly help once we get to that part of the cleanup
  16. Once the forum resets a password, should the user request a password again, any older reset passwords will become null and not work.
  17. Have any of you experienced difficulties with it? Do you know of anyone who has? After inputting birthday and electronic sig, what I've had reported to me (a couple times already) is that the browser goes BACK to the age verification page. I've asked those users to clear cookies and histories and check firewall settings, and have had no luck in getting that page to reset the cookie allowing them access to the rest of the archive. So, if you know of anyone who's also having this difficulty, please let us know by responding to this topic. Thanks
  18. I'll have a look and see what's going on for you. Did you also happen to change your email address or anything else for the forum?
