  9. searches destroyed..... Something I do with these, is I also email the users to point them to the right place. Unfortunately, the reason for the elimination for the search/challenge/request categories was to make it so the db for the archive wouldn't crash. Thing is .... huge..... so, have to cut some stuff somewhere. There are things we've talked about as far as the new fiction portal, in making it so the different software can interlink, it really CAN'T right now, as the current software for the fiction portal is very very old, and needs replaced. So, for the next several months, everyone will have to do this as the forum can support things much better than the archive can. (new software, more secure, etc)

  15. *sighs* Okay, here's the deal. As I've explained before, what you're seeing now, is the INITIAL recategorization. This was done for the health of the database which was fast approaching a critical mass of instability. In any case, we are also sorting things subdomain by subdomain. That is a HUGE task. HUGE. We'll see what we can do when we get to the Originals section, but no promises. First I have to see what's actually THERE and then we'll go from there.
  16. Please read this topic
  17. heh you're lucky you could afford a dentist, these days. I went through a period a few months back where I had to take care of some on my own. No insurance, didn't make enough to GET insurance, and made too much to qualify for any kind of help for it.
  18. Nope certainly isn't. What I do with these is determine where they actually belong, and then merge data from one to the other so that even though the duplicate is gone, the author keeps his/her reviews, ratings, and "hit" data.
  19. emailed user, there's actually three of 'em for this user, so now they're all gone.
  20. Okay, all done, and I'm done with all the RL bs that kept me away from my machine for damn near a week as well. That one, where you're "letting others decide", they're all rather harsh, but....I see the point of the errr term? that they were all uhh disagreeing so strenuously about.

    Search

Instructions for the boolean search engine: The boolean full-text search capability supports the following operators: + A leading plus sign indicates that this word must be present in every row returned. - A leading minus sign indicates that this word must not be present in any row returned. By default (when neither plus nor minus is specified) the word is optional, but the rows that contain it will be rated higher. This mimicks the normal behaviour. ( ) Parentheses are used to group words into subexpressions. * An asterisk is the truncation operator. Unlike the other operators, it should be appended to the word, not prepended. " The phrase, that is enclosed in double quotes ", matches only rows that contain this phrase literally, as it was typed.
