Have you looked in your author panel? Obviously not. If so, you'd see the story is STILL there. As to the correction required, it is indeed required. The story will remain in hiding until the disclaimer is set to the standards as specified. It IS a reasonable policy in what is required. That you choose to not fulfill the requirements is on you, not any of the mods who have to look for all this and the multitude of other things that are looked at and for every single day.

First of all, it's in the Terms of Service. Searches and the like are to be posted in forum. Period. Secondly, it was announced MONTHS ago that the pre-existing searches, challenges, requests and etc would be deleted, which they were for the most part. Now, we delete them as we find them, and will continue to do so. Look in the announcements portion of the forum, it's all there.

this would be slashwriter yet again, yes?

put "full disclaimer below (chapter 1)" and make it your very first paragraph IN Chapter 1. That way anyone who needs to look for it knows where to look for it. As to the field size, that will be changing in the future. This is part of the new software, which won't be ready for beta for another year, yet, so doesn't apply to this stuff we work with now. It's being changed to a text "blob" type field, which means that it more or less self adjusted as to what is input in the field for character count. I know there will still be a limit on characters, but if I remember right it will be doubled in size, if not more.

It's no prob, I understand the rant

Sorry I misunderstood part of what you said. To be honest, I only quickly read (up to my eyeballs in work at the moment) but did check the link, and corrected it in my document. Thanks for the heads up on that.
-
They're not deleted, they're hidden because the disclaimers are not correct. You can still access them from your user panel. In fact, one IS scheduled for deletion, should you choose to leave the flame in the disclaimer.

I've deleted stories from this user every day for the past 5 days, not including what you just posted. So, I think we can safely say this one is a spammer......and needs nuked entirely.
-
All we are asking (any mod, that is) is that you, the users, comply with the Terms of Service. Considering how many rules there aren't, that shouldn't be difficult.
-
ALL requests, searches, challenges and etc are deleted without notification.

The link to the FAQ is not broken. The archive does not allow dynamic linking, so the user must copy/paste any links to their browser address bar. What's being looked for, is that the disclaimer specifically disclaim the fandom (HP) itself. Not just the author. Granted, J.K. Rowling has only published Harry Potter, so far as I know, but, that is how we're doing it. Particularly as most authors publish more than one world, over time. Actually, if you look, I did indeed warn them. However, the users themselves can delete reviews at will. So, whether or not a warning is still in the review board or not, is ultimately in the hands of the users themselves. We DO keep record of where and when we warn people.

gone gone gone

One would think, after I don't know HOW many deletions, that the repeaters would get a clue
-
maybe Fairy Tales should be Brothers Grimm? Since those are the stories mentioned, I'm thinking.

hehe, it's in the works, actually. The backframe for the new stuff is in the process of being written. Without a strong backframe to a program, the end results (what the end user sees and uses) generally doesn't work well at all.

Here's one for all of you. I deleted the brat, because I found proof she is under 18. Now, in response to that, she decided to flame an admin announcement. Needless to say, she's being nuked yet again. sarah17 you are not WELCOME here. Not even when you turn 18 in October. We don't WANT people who feel the need to be abusive and have tantrums because they were caught out. initial age proof Review with flame, and statement of age, which DOES NOT MATCH her youtube profile (she says she's 20 there) As you can see, that is unacceptable behavior from any user. PERIOD. For obvious reasons, we do NOT want minors here. That is a danger to the site, if found, and left alone.

Unpleasant Dreams and Terrifying Nightmares in tv>misc, belongs in anime subdomain, Yami no Matsuei also, appears to have a format problem, missing data, probably not stripped of word html extras
-
it's not addressable with this software, except for the way you and I have been handling it already, unfortunately. HOWEVER, with the software that's in the process of being written, I and any other moderator will have tools in place (much like some of my forum tools) which will let me nuke 'em for good. Make it so they can't ever come BACK to the site.

You're right, there isn't one. I'll be sure to add this one with the other two I'm planning on adding as well.

that's pretty much where I was going with it.

Okay, thought I'd let you know I've constructed a query which I'll be using sub category by sub category, to construct them as they should be. However, with all the OTHER stuff I happen to have going at the same time, it's going to take some time. So, please be sure to add your disclaimer as needed for the book fandom you're writing for in the mean time. I won't be using it for any sub categories that are crossovers, as those need to have any of the worlds in the crossover disclaimed, and it's simply not an option for me, as I don't have the kind of time needed to be able to do that, story by story, which is mostly what would be needed. Where a crossover world has its own sub sub category, those can be done when I run the query. I will be doing this in the sub domains with multiple fandoms FIRST, as those are going to actually take me the most time. That being the case, with everything else, I'd say running the query as I will be, will take me roughly a month for that sub domain alone.

I'm re-reading Bag of Bones (Stephen King)

Just like with ANY website, this one is in a constant state of change. As you must surely be aware, there are over 100,000 stories across the entire archive. That means AT LEAST 100,000 chapters, but realistically, most of the stories are multi-chapter. As we work through the archive to catalog, sort and repair, it's as I said a time intensive task. Without what has been getting done, this archive would have been UNABLE to support its summer traffic, just as it was unable to support its summer traffic for the last few years before this. This is the FIRST summer where constant down time has NOT been an issue. That is a direct result of all this work that's being done. No, it's not readily apparent yet, unless you're following our progress. Apparently in past years, it was said that the corrupted stories were unfixable (a lie), that bandwidth would ALWAYS be an issue (another lie) and there was simply no way to address the corruptions that existed or the overages that were a constant occurence. Obviously, those people were without doubt WRONG, as has been proven in the last year. By repairing the records as I have been, that helps with bandwidth, as did the initial recategorization, and ongoing sort and sub categorization that is being done sub domain by sub domain. You've obviously not taken the time to have a look and see the volume of work, which we all post here in forum as it's easier to track that way. In addition, the initial recategorization did a very important thing for the database itself, BESIDES stabilizing it, which was DRASTICALLY reducing the query load. The query load before hand was in a large part responsible for more down time, as more people would visit. A very good example of this are any of the multi fandom sub domains such as books, anime, and cartoons; to name a few. each one, individually, went from over 300 queries to load the initial categories page, to about 20. As its obvious that any improvements, and any work are irrelevant to you, I think I've said quite enough on the subject; other than to reiterate that when we get to the hp subdomain, we will get to it. I don't have a time frame quite yet, as we're not near enough to getting to it, to GIVE one.

I get this newsletter in email, and this article is interesting. ----- EFF Sues President Bush Over Internet Surveillance Mike Sachoff | Staff Writer The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has filed a lawsuit against President George W. Bush and others in his administration for the illegal surveillance of emails and telephone calls without a warrant. The suit also names the National Security Agency (NSA), Vice President Dick Cheney, Cheney's chief of staff David Addington, and former Attorney General and White House Counsel Alberto Gonzales. The lawsuit, Jewel v. NSA, is aimed at ending what the EFF says is "the NSA's dragnet surveillance of millions of ordinary Americans and holding accountable the government officials who illegally authorized it." Evidence in the case includes undisputed documents provided by former AT&T employee Mark Klein showing AT&T has routed copies of Internet traffic to a secret room in San Francisco controlled by the NSA. EFF attorneys filed a suit against AT&T in 2006 alleging that US telecoms giants had opened its network to the NSA without warrants. This year Congress passed legislation giving telecommunications firms immunity from spying lawsuits. The case is now stalled in federal court. "In addition to suing AT&T, we've now opened a second front in the battle to stop the NSA's illegal surveillance of millions of ordinary Americans and hold personally responsible those who authorized or participated in the spying program," said Senior Staff Attorney Kevin Bankston. "For years, the NSA has been engaged in a massive and massively illegal fishing expedition through AT&T's domestic networks and databases of customer records. Our goal in this new case against the government, as in our case against AT&T, is to dismantle this dragnet surveillance program as soon as possible."

I have no clue why a cartoon would be under anime, but it's not the only one that we've found there. There is a small avatar section there as well, which will end up moved to cartoons.
