  1. not a prob, it'll get fixed.
  2. honestly, folklore is something different than a compilation of fairy tales, or original fairy tales that have been published. I'm thinking that would have to be it's own category.
  3. Well, the bulk of 'em died when I deleted those sub categories. However, there are still enough of 'em floating around in there, OLD ones, that those won't actually be deleted 'til we get to the subdomain for sorting and repair. But, if you've the free time, you could do like vamiredarkgirl did with many hp sections. She looked and found bunches of 'em, put 'em up, and I deleted them all.
  4. in the user panel, where you're trying to select the subdomain you want, you must press the "go" button to go there. Once you do that, you'll notice in your browser address bar that you're no longer in the anime subdomain, but in the final fantasy subdomain.
  5. I could potentially make a fairy tales sub category, and then under IT, I could put things like Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Anderson, and etc. That would make more sense I think in the long term, with the ability for unlimited sub levelling I will have.
  6. What was missing was the SPECIFIC FANDOM concerned. As the story is in a multi fandom sub domain, that becomes even more important. When you have 250+ different titles, as are in anime, "I do not own the characters" is plainly not specific enough at all. Which characters? Which fandom? This topic explains an additional task being done in the multiple fandom sub domains first, followed by ALL the rest. It's obvious you really do NOT understand the magnitude of the task for the older stories, or indeed just what is involved in keeping things correct where new and updated stories are being checked. We're looking at 100,000 +/- altogether across TWENTY ONE sub domains in total. Before you even THINK to mention it, NO, am not giving everyone direct database access to speed up what I'm doing with the older stories by running that query. As an example of man hours I PERSONALLY put into all the different aspects of things I do for the site (moderation, clean up project, and etc) in the last three days I've worked 35 hours. I managed that many because I was OFF work. On my work days, I work on average 6 hours. Every day. I actually give myself one day about every 2 months or so away from all that, but still check email and go through the forum queue. So, again, you can choose to remain stubborn, and not correct as we asked you to, and follow the very simple rules you agreed to upon signing up to even use the site in the first place. Or, you can comply. Not so hard, and certainly not worth arguing over. I, for one, have better and more productive things to do with my time than argue with you.
  7. Scattergram remove extra word gobbledygook html Daughters of Darkness wordord
  8. Example disclaimer- The Amelia Peabody series belongs to Elizabeth Peters. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. First section is the fandom, meaning the book TITLE you're writing from, or the book SERIES. The second part is where you state you make no money from the story.
  9. the archive only accepts documents ending in .htm or .html, or .txt What you need to do is convert the document to html, STRIP the bloated html tags out, and then upload it. It's important that you do that, as otherwise the upload still won't work quite right. To edit out the extra html, open the file in notepad or some other plain text editor. That way you see all the code that Word inserts. This FAQ will show you the allowable tags
  10. that would be an orphan story. We've actually cleaned those OUT of the sub domains we're working in for cleanup and will be deleting them in all the other sub domains as well. Some of the kiddies like to keep coming back I guess, but we still make 'em go away.....
  11. as long as the review isn't a flame, it's a good thing. Perhaps then they'll actually post where they're supposed to. I'm not holding my breath, but it's certainly worth a try.
  12. Have you looked in your author panel? Obviously not. If so, you'd see the story is STILL there. As to the correction required, it is indeed required. The story will remain in hiding until the disclaimer is set to the standards as specified. It IS a reasonable policy in what is required. That you choose to not fulfill the requirements is on you, not any of the mods who have to look for all this and the multitude of other things that are looked at and for every single day.
  13. First of all, it's in the Terms of Service. Searches and the like are to be posted in forum. Period. Secondly, it was announced MONTHS ago that the pre-existing searches, challenges, requests and etc would be deleted, which they were for the most part. Now, we delete them as we find them, and will continue to do so. Look in the announcements portion of the forum, it's all there.
  14. this would be slashwriter yet again, yes?
  15. put "full disclaimer below (chapter 1)" and make it your very first paragraph IN Chapter 1. That way anyone who needs to look for it knows where to look for it. As to the field size, that will be changing in the future. This is part of the new software, which won't be ready for beta for another year, yet, so doesn't apply to this stuff we work with now. It's being changed to a text "blob" type field, which means that it more or less self adjusted as to what is input in the field for character count. I know there will still be a limit on characters, but if I remember right it will be doubled in size, if not more.
  16. It's no prob, I understand the rant
  17. Sorry I misunderstood part of what you said. To be honest, I only quickly read (up to my eyeballs in work at the moment) but did check the link, and corrected it in my document. Thanks for the heads up on that.
  18. They're not deleted, they're hidden because the disclaimers are not correct. You can still access them from your user panel. In fact, one IS scheduled for deletion, should you choose to leave the flame in the disclaimer.
  19. I've deleted stories from this user every day for the past 5 days, not including what you just posted. So, I think we can safely say this one is a spammer......and needs nuked entirely.
  20. All we are asking (any mod, that is) is that you, the users, comply with the Terms of Service. Considering how many rules there aren't, that shouldn't be difficult.
  21. ALL requests, searches, challenges and etc are deleted without notification.
  22. The link to the FAQ is not broken. The archive does not allow dynamic linking, so the user must copy/paste any links to their browser address bar. What's being looked for, is that the disclaimer specifically disclaim the fandom (HP) itself. Not just the author. Granted, J.K. Rowling has only published Harry Potter, so far as I know, but, that is how we're doing it. Particularly as most authors publish more than one world, over time. Actually, if you look, I did indeed warn them. However, the users themselves can delete reviews at will. So, whether or not a warning is still in the review board or not, is ultimately in the hands of the users themselves. We DO keep record of where and when we warn people.
  23. gone gone gone
  24. One would think, after I don't know HOW many deletions, that the repeaters would get a clue
  25. maybe Fairy Tales should be Brothers Grimm? Since those are the stories mentioned, I'm thinking.
