There are some nasty trojans and other virus types that are affecting XP and earlier machines. Thing is, most of the software is not addressing the issue, as its geared towards Vista now. If you find a link to Antivirus 2009, do not click it. It's a trojan. Here is a link to free software, which actually addresses the nasties that I mention above. avast! It's free to download and use, simply follow the directions. I already downloaded it earlier, and got rid of a couple RAM viruses nothing else was finding. It's doing a thorough scan on my primary XP machine, so I can actually use the thing again. Vista has something called Windows Defender which FINDS and destroys these trojans and such that are infesting XP and earlier machines. Be sure to keep the definitions for it updated if you have a Vista machine.

I just checked it a couple different ways, and it loaded right up.

When you'd said you thought you picked up a virus from this domain, the very first thing I checked was the virus software on the server. It's been running, and is updated daily, so it's definitely not us.

The upgrade has been delayed, more properly, it's been hijacked by the archive, and other things I've had to do with it. As the archive is the primary program, it, of course, takes priority. In any case, the thing I've been working on for it is almost done (only 2 more sub domains to go), and then I'll do this upgrade.

First of all, I doubt that this virus you're talking about was from the site. How many other tabs did you have open? Where ELSE were you surfing? Secondly, I have the forum set up to where html, flash, and other things are not allowed at all. So, that being the case, it's difficult, at best, for someone to insert a virus into this program. Third, I'm here several times a day, and have never had a virus insert from either the forum or the archive.

How did you upload/add the story? what format? The forums are working, I just had to set all the guest posting forums to where all new posts/topics go into an approval queue due to spamming.

Sorry for the delay, I've been horribly ill (damn flu bug) so I will be getting to this and many others in the next couple of days.

When the site news is updated, we generally use the broadcast email function to send a copy of it via the forum database as well.

Okay, the current software does not and will not ever really be able to support review replies. IF we ported that in, it could easily make other parts of the old script not function right. So, what we've opted for is to have that as an option for the new software in development.

It's simple, really. I've been very sick, and wasn't even online for the better part of a week. Kind of hard to work on stuff on my machine when I'm vomiting.... but aside from that, what I'm going to do is this, for all the subdomains, over the next day or so, I am going to be doing nothing but run the query to correct each and every disclaimer with the exception of crossovers. Those have to be disclaimed with each fandom involved, and I simply don't have the time at the moment to go through each and every individual crossover story and correct them myself. Before I get started, since I am correcting the disclaimers with a query for the largest part of you, all the stories currently hidden will be unhidden as well. Then, from this point forward, any of you who choose not to disclaim properly, and ignore any warnings given, will have them hidden again. This is a bit of a time consuming task, so it won't be done instantaneously. I have 21 subdomains to go through to do this. It will take roughly the next day or so.

You have to bear in mind there aren't that many of us, for one, and for another most all of us work full time besides doing this. So, as we're a bit backlogged at the moment, it may take a couple days. However, it most certainly WILL be taken care of. I absolutely loathe plagiarists.
