Secondly, one should realize that often, most of those members just so happen to belong to THIS archive as well. So, by flaming them here for another site, you are flaming AFF members. So VERY not acceptable. You see that? That's what I mean. The majority of Dokuga's 18 and over users, are here as well. and then there is this review It was left in response to a DRABBLE. Mind you, the author SAID it was a drabble. Drabbles are short. and this one...while not a flame, she should've read what the author said, yes? the profile Yet another one. What's worse, is this one plagiarized by writing fan fiction in this author's world. Now THAT takes BIG brass balls. The original story, is "The Prince of Ebon Rih". The passage stolen was pages 182-183 To start out the story, this person changed the names of Lucivar and Marian to Lorn and Draca. Except they kinda FORGOT to do that later on. There's also the fact that this person made it a bit more explicit than the original publication. SOOOOO not the point here though. So here is the original..yes, there's only a very small portion included. That's all I really needed, if you look. And the plagiarized.. Betcha that there's other stuff this person plagiarized as well. Especially when one considers they've been here for a few years BIG thank you to the reporting member!

Nah, we don't do QC here. Good, bad, mediocre; as long as it's within guidelines for the site, it's allowed. I've actually seen (and deleted) some rather talented young people, but the point is, they were TOO young. Again pointing to quality, or lack of quality as a writer as not being an age indicator. It's really NOT.

No one ever supplied this site with your driver's license, nor would any of us ASK another site to do so. If and when (and yes, we have done this), we ask for age verification such as that, it is looked at to verify the birthday, and then deleted. We don't need to keep it on file once the age has been verified.

It's fine to repost. As to being told, those of you who've been here as underagers, can USUALLY expect complete account and content deletion. This holds true for the vast majority of them. Neither I, nor any other mod or admin are required to notify you of deletion, particularly where the deletion was caused by a ToS violation such as this one.

Well, when you consider that the stories you mention were posted to the site BEFORE you turned 18, you must understand that you could have easily lost your entire account, rather than just your pre age 18 data. Further, considering your original registration date was in 2004, you do realize you had no business even USING this site for a number of years yet, right?

Okay, first of all, it's hidden, and if you're not in the right subdomain, you can't get to it. Secondly, excerpts from your stories are not allowed. It's a form of unauthorized advertising. As to why the stories are hidden at the moment, this allows you to decide if you want me to get all the review data for you before they get deleted. You can put links to your published stuff in your profile all day long. But, you can't do it in the manner you have been, where you leave up a teaser chapter or three, and then instructions to contact you for more.

If you look, I kept the start point where you had it. I increased the end point for the break, so there'd be some overlap, and you guys would be more able to pick and choose. As I've not created the weapons with your names on 'em yet, I can easily put it where you'd suggested, and still have the end point where I have it.

At this point, your disclaimer is your best protection. The thing is, this treaty is still very much in the works, and is not, in fact, in place yet. There are some organizations which are fighting against this, of course. EFF being a major one, of course. Currently, the intellectual property suits have been targeting more for video and music than anything. Copyright Watch is a good resource for finding what the most current copyright laws are, and they are working at making it a world wide repository of those laws as a resource, so that one knows what the laws are in different countries. Where this would affect any given site, is that where it is hosted, are the laws which are applied. Chilling Effects has a FAQ up regarding fanfiction specifically. I would expect if the treaty every did get signed in to law, and fanfiction archives were to be targeted, it could cause us a host of problems. But that's speculative at BEST right now. Until this thing is hammered out and passed, we have no way of knowing how it will affect this site, the users, or anything. Nor do we have any real well to tell what, if any, courses of action will be available. All any of us can do at this point is wait and see what exactly they come up with for the final treaty, and which countries end up signing it in to law.

In the drop down menu bar across the top, select Author Panel. This is your user control panel, or user cp. While in your cp, select the subdomain you wish to publish TO, using the drop down menu located to the left as you look at your screen. Click go. Then, you click Add Story. Once you do this, you'll see a drop down list for category, and then subcategory (once the category itself is chosen). Follow the prompts from there.
