In point of fact, the only person who actually places IP blocks is me. It is done very sparingly, and AFTER a lot of looking to make sure that it's not dynamic. Of course, there are other avenues I look at when looking to do such a thing as well, which the IP number itself tells me, and I use that information accordingly. Having connected for YEARS for gaming direct by IP and having to know that for hosting the battle sims, there are certain things I look for that others may not. As to it being fair use, sure, parody is fair use. However, using a site's content WITHOUT permission is not fair use, particularly where a site's rules clearly state that one may not do so. That is in direct violation of the user agreement this person agrees to WHETHER OR NOT he or she reads it when signing up to use the site. In that respect, yes, I can and WILL delete in that for instance. It wouldn't be the first time. Generally speaking though, a request to remove the content which has been taken without permission is always the first step, and certainly what I'll be doing next with this person. For the most part, people are reasonable and do remove things when APPROACHED reasonably. There is absolutely no need to turn this into a legal debate. So, let me do MY job to do what I can for the member base affected in this for instance. Realistically, there really isn't much I can do about offsite activity, EXCEPT to ask for the removal of the copied content. As to use of this site, however, there is always something I can and will do. This sort of thing means deletion for the user who's doing it.

I can certainly delete him from here, and there are other options about what he/she is doing off site that I can exercise as well. The offsite options may not work, however.

First of all, a bad review is NOT ratings sabotage. Reviews are a different function ENTIRELY from the ratings. The one has not a thing to do with the other, in how they work, other than being attached to the story. Other than that, what Danyealle said for you to do, is what you do if you feel you're being flamed in a review.

Okay, first of all, no one said you stole the verses. Just that they were not properly cited. Had they belonged to someone else, whether song lyric or poem, then you would have to CITE that. Inline citations are not difficult, people do 'em all the time. This is very different from a disclaimer, in that it works for when one is quoting from someone else's work and showing where it comes FROM. Because they are your own, you still need to add that (as you did), and we thank you for it.

Actually there is a DC character called Black Canary. She was in Justice League. @JayDee, as to what she's doing for me, which is sorting and eyeballing the glitches that have been in the archive since 2004; she's also taking in to account to where the DC stuff is being moved entirely to comics in the FIRST place, as the Marvel stuff will be moved to the xmen subdomain. People often will take a plotline from a movie (Titanic comes to mind, I've seen that often) and make an AU of their fandom. I'll look at it a bit more closely though, and see if that's the only thing done. If so, then no, not plagiarism if they've not lifted the lines from the movie script and such.

Something to keep in mind, is that this is something you need to do with each and every story you add. As you now are aware of it, by making sure that your disclaimer is correct when you first add the story, chances would be slim of you getting a warn of this nature again. When your data starts to load not quite right, that's the storage device telling you it needs reformatted. I remember that very well from my floppy days . With the floppies, usually 2 or 3 reformats, and the thing was toast. Thankfully, key drives are much more durable and that's not an issue. As with any removable storage, it does apply to the key drives as well, as I said. Just not as often.

You do need to keep an eye on data integrity, and occasionally reformat the keydrive. Not very often, to be sure, but something that's a necessary maintenance. Just like we used to have to do in the "old days" with floppy discs.

It's not possible with the current software. The best interaction I've been able to come up with is to have you guys make a topic in forum and have discussions. I'm sure you noticed when this started, that I said the db was 6.6GB. It was, at the time. Damn thing is now 7.5GB, inching towards 7.6GB. That is primarily story and chapter data. Having said that, there is still a significant amount of data in the review tables themselves. I've tinkered off and on with bridging the two applications (off site) and have yet to be able to come up with a way to bridge them without crashing the archive app. Again, due to the age of the archive software. There are a few things I've also been tinkering with to help speed up the archive itself, but they have nothing to do with the storyboard stuff. It's something for in the background, primarily, but will help ease the load. If I can get it to work the way I want. Good for other stuff, but no good for this particular issue.

Actually, I tend to ignore these, or outright delete them from here. They have not a thing to do with the clean up. However, I do know the issue with this one. You need to fix your disclaimer, more than likely. It's not deleted, but hidden. Now, if you give me the subdomain, I can actually tell you what the problem is exactly.

As memory serves, when adding a story, that field is a required field. Of course, the user often puts whatever in there, and then erases it entirely to leave it blank. Or, they put whatever they like without following the requirements that are stated for it.

First of all, this belongs in tech support, and is being moved there. Secondly, if you read the agreement for signing up for the forum, you would have seen it takes up to 24 hours to get passed through the admin queue, as the registration is two step, user validation and then admin validation. How to edit your chapter- First, be certain you're in the correct subdomain before starting. As you posted it to the original subdomain, you need to use the jump menu, select original and then click go. Second, on the left, you'll see a menu which says "Story Functions". Select - Edit Story Select the story (by title), then select the action you wish to make (Edit Chapter). Click the edit button. Next, choose the chapter. As there is only one chapter, you select it from the dropdown menu, which defaults to "Choose Chapter" and comes up showing a white text area before you select the chapter itself. Once you select the chapter (if there is not title, the program will assign it a number), it will then appear in the edit box. Once you've completed the edits you wish to make, click "edit chapter" at the bottom, so your changes are saved.

Like I said, those get added to the spreadsheet the mods work from. As soon as I have the one I'm updating done and uploaded; whoever the poor sod is who gets stuck in harry hell will see this one and warn it accordingly.
