  1. Archive profile Now, it really doesn't take a genius to figure out just WHY the hell the archive has pair specific categories. You don't like a pairing, don't READ it. Don't click the category name and even look at 'em, right? Simple, yes? One would think so. Apparently, this one does NOT. Not only that, she's "willing to read it anyway" IF the writer rewrites their story to HER specifications. uhhh....I don't THINK so. Anyway, this started last year. This person decided to harass various authors who wrote in different pair categories that she doesn't like. As I said earlier, they're all IN the proper pair category. So, it's plenty obvious this person decided to go in to areas strictly to harass other users. Because I have many, many screens of the abuse, I'm not going to post them all. Suffice it to say, I DO have them. The latest incident was just this morning. 26 reviews to one story, in an hour. Because they were being deleted by the user who's story it was. 26 reviews in one hour, to one story, constitutes spamming. So here we go, starting with some of the stuff reported to us, starting last year, in November. As you can see, that's 4 different users in the space of a week. Mind you, only 1 of the reviews were reported. The rest were found by looking at the review boards, and searching the database direct. At that point, this person was warned, that if she persisted, she would be deleted. So, she laid off this for awhile. Guess she thought we forgot and wouldn't monitor her or something. So, all was quiet for a long time. Then, a couple days ago, she started up with another person. Started this leaving reviews, getting angry because they were deleted, and leaving more. then we get to the spamming portion of the evening... I won't put up the 26 or so other screens I have. It's not necessary. Suffice it to say, this person is not welcome back. Not ever. You don't spam authors. You don't go in to categories specifically for that reason. Which is EXACTLY what this person did.
  2. I deleted all but the above two, which I need to look at a little harder for obvious reasons on the one.
  3. There is no way to track it or prevent it, as the function is completely anonymous
  4. using the story rate function, or the review boards?
  5. When we get there for sorting, yes, if they remain with no stories, or not enough stories, they will be deleted.
  6. Interestingly enough, quality of writing doesn't necessarily denote age. If it did, it'd make life much simpler. Updated stats...through 3/20/10 Total looked at - 1218 Breakdown Accounts taken over (4+ returns) - 12 Users posting for minor, or allowing minors to use their accounts to post - 9 Minors who've been deleted and have since turned 18 - 70 Old minors (pre-existing before current mod staff) - 203 Returning minors - 34 No results found, inconclusive - 257 Confirmed, one time deletion - 384 Confirmed as 18 or older - 249
  7. The profile modifications for this sort of thing are not written by me. I can't write to save my life, so I enlisted the aid of the rest of the mods to give me stuff to work with. As to the review that was deleted, I'd bet that was Grizzlepot who deleted it, as it was a valid accusation. The authors have control of what stays in their review boards, and can delete from them at will.
  8. And now for something completely different... Here we have a user who knowingly allowed a minor (XoXgaaraXoX) to post here using her profile, before she was old enough to do so. That would be this one.. This is the old minor... Needless to say, neither one is ever welcome back. You don't let someone under 18 use your account for posting. You don't then come in as an adult and say that you DID. It gets you deleted. PERIOD.
  9. oooookay.... Now that I've finished losing a lung from laughing, me being me, and ever curious, thought I'd see if there was actual research for this. Not surprisingly, there is. Testicular hyperthermia Journal of Andrology BioOne Testicular hypothermia PubMed.gov The Royal Society of Medicine European Surgical Research and now for cooling devices....who'da thunk they made radiators for balls? Testicular Hypothermia Device Male Contraceptive Device
  10. Well, she's obviously wrong, because she is Hall of Shamed. FYI, I don't Hall of Shame anyone without hard proof, that is easily seen. So, you can look at the screens and compare, and see where she copied WORD FOR WORD, in several different places in her story, from several different places in the original novel.
  11. Chapter 11 from the novel plagiarized from Chapter 11 Chapter 15 from the novel plagiarism of this chapter Finally, here is the author profile in the archive.
  12. So here we are again. Another person who decided that they must "borrow" from someone else. Further, it was only a ...mistake. Yeah, that's it. That's the ticket! Here's the cover of the book all this came from Mind you, the user knew full well what was coming, as you can see by the author notes And on to the proof Prologue from the novel Prologue as written in the fanfiction Chapter 5 from novel from the fanfiction
  13. Why on earth do you want a copy of a plagiarized story?
  14. I was going to put the new weapons up you guys have been tossing back and forth this weekend, but I have an opportunity to make up the income I lost for two weeks due to weather. So, it'll be done probably in the next couple weeks.
  15. First of all, it doesn't qualify for a separate subdomain. A new top level in books, yes. But not a new subdomain. Secondly, to create the pairings that you're talking about, means I have to re-sort the whole thing. I can, of course, work with the data I already have for the stories that were there when we finished sorting books. But I still then need to go through what's left. You pm'd the right person, as the one who would do all this is me. Now, having said all this, I do have it scheduled for me to do the top level and re-sort. However, it's not something I'll be doing right this minute, more like in the next couple of weeks.
  16. First of all, as you're trying to add a chapter to a story you already have, with pre-existing chapter data, you shouldn't even be seeing recaptcha. That is set to show up when you add a new story and the first chapter. So, at this point, I'd check and be sure I was in the correct sub directory (in the browser bar, it should show anime2.adult-fanfiction.org). If it does not, use the jump menu to navigate to it (it displays as Gundam/Beyblade/DBZ/FMA). THEN you select the story, and add the chapter to it.
  17. Heh. You could leave a review letting the others reading it know that 1-The story is YOURS, not this person's, and 2-they took it from a different site entirely, lastly 3-if they want updates/news of any of YOUR stuff, then obviously they need to contact you, not the plagiarist.
  18. Please read what I posted back to you in the other topic. One other thing you should be aware of, is making sure you use the jump menu to ensure you're in the proper subdomain, where your story is. The text itself will not display when you post it when you add a chapter (other than the first one when the story is created).
  19. Stepping through it myself now... First, go to Story functions. Select "edit story" Select the story from the drop down list located to the right of the functions menu Select "Add chapter", then click edit If you're using the text input field, do the following.. Add the chapter title Put the text in the block for it (input text) If you're using the file upload option, do the following.. Add the chapter title, Click upload file and then browse to the file you're uploading. Remember, it must end in .htm, .html, or .txt Then, click Add chapter You'll see a message as to what happened, in the upper left corner of the user panel. It says "chapter added successfully" I just walked this whole thing through in my profile, so I know the chapter add feature is working.
  20. As I said with the category req, I won't actually be moving this stuff around until we get there for the sort. Sure, it's an easy move, but it's one of 23 subdomains, and not the one I'm currently working IN. I'm also the only who does the moving, so you gotta keep that in mind. That ONLY applies to story moves within a subdomain. As to story moves subdomain to subdomain, a one shot can take upwards of one hour or more, to move all the data from one subdomain to the other, and its associated tables. A multi chapter story, on the other hand, takes several hours. Again, once we GET there for sorting, I'll be moving the stuff around so it's earmarked for subdomain move. But, it won't happen until we do.
  21. When we get there for sorting, I'll add the categories from games misc that I'm sure will exist. That's how I do it, unless a writer has a story they're wanting to add as well.
  22. It's been allowed to stay, so far, but probably can be done away with. I'll have to look at it and evaluate it.
  23. I was going to search out a variety of links, but huffingtonpost.com has a page of exactly what I was looking for. So here is the link. As you can see, it lists several humanitarian aid agencies and how you can help.
