The entire Discworld series. I don't think anything else influenced my writing style as much as that one did. Also, Good Omens taught me how to view theology/mythology in a different light. One that isn't suited for serious debate, perhaps, but great for writing stories.

I may be wrong on this, but when it comes to male/female videogame clichés it seems that games with a male lead have more of a 'let's get out there and kick some bad guy ass and SAVE THE WORLD' whereas the ones with female leads are more 'I just want to protect the ones I love'. Again, showing that men are fundamentally aggressive and women are more passive (or defensive). With the notable exception of the Metroid series, of course. But then again, that one falls into the 'sexy battle tank' category.

Fire Emblem! Seriously, if you're looking for girls who can kicks ass, look no further. The all-female Pegasus Knight class for example, though admittedly designed as mage killers and dodgers, are usually Death on Wings. And since they can move so far so quickly, they can easily be used to zoom all over the battlefield taking out hordes of enemies. About the topic itself, I wish I had something to say because it's an interesting topic. Unfortunately, I'm a femslesh writer through and through and, for some reason, femslash doesn't seem to have as much of these problems. Girl/girl couples are usually on totally equal footing. Which, perhaps, reveals another aspect of our cultural heritage. That we expect girls to treat each other as equals (no matter how much they may hate each other's guts) and that we expect men to constantly try to be the Alpha Male. Or the bootlicking Omega, of course.

There is a hint of introversion running in both sides of the family. Of course, it doesn't show up much, and there's also a lot of extroversion, but, somehow, all that introversion got channeled into me. And, to a lesser extent, my sister. Oh. The joy.

I'm not good at math at all, but from all the stories on the active site (so not counting the stories still waiting to be transferred) I have a grand total of 5,984 hits and 17 reviews. So if I calculate correctly (which I probably don't) I have a hit-to-review ratio of roughly 0.28%. God, that's depressing.

In case that's me, I just have to ask: Which story? Or, if I dare be so optimistic, which stories?

Yeah, I know the feeling. Unfortunately. Let's see if I can scrounge up the worst offenders: 337 Hits; 0 Reviews; 5-star rating. 1178 Hits; 1 Review; 5-star rating. 880 Hits; 1 Review; 5-star rating. But the absolute winner would have to be: 1655 Hits; 0 Reviews; 5-star rating. Oh, and then there are the numerous "less than 1% hits-to-reviews ratios", but I'm not counting those right now. Still, I will soldier on, silence or no. Because I love writing. Granted, reviews tend to make the soldiering on a bit... smoother, but still.

1) Getting raped is a good way to figure out your sexual likes and dislikes. 2) Natural submissives only discover this aspect of their personality when some total bitch/bastard starts abusing them. 3) Incest is both natural and frequent. And because nobody ever gets pregnant it's also a no-risk form of relationship. 4) If someone does get pregnant, he or she will become much more sexually active and a great deal kinkier than before. 5) Women are totally helpless and largely braindead. 5a) Especially when they're being blackmailed. 6) When there are no convenient men or women around, curious young virgins will eagerly have sex with dogs or horses.

I too mix it up - usually between technical and soft-core, although I am known to dabble in hard-core when writing a plotless smut piece that's even more plotless than is usual for me. For example, I practically always use "breasts" - "tits" just sounds too 'horny teenager' and anything else just makes this particular part of the body sound really unappealing in my opinion. "Heaving mounds" on the other hand just makes me giggle. However, if we take a look at the penis, I never use "penis" because it sounds too clinical. I usually use "cock" or work around the problem in the same way Big Samurai does.

I mostly write yuri. However, I do not really write shonen-ai, which shares the yuri vote for some reason. Shoujo-ai, yeah, sure, but not shonen.

Yeah, I missed the forums too. The atmosphere here is friendlier than on the Yahoo! group (unfortunately).

Vaida From Fire Emblem 7 a.k.a. Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken a.k.a. Fire Emblem. She's a vastly underrated character and her personality is fun. She's sarcastic and brutal, but also honest, loyal and a bit of an idealist underneath it all. I wuv her to bits, although she'd probably scare the crap out of me in real life.
