I admit that the possibility of spies slipping in alongside the freed slaves had not occurred to me, and the main reason for the idea of the fort would've been to cut off, or at least restrict, there'd probably be land trade routes as well, food to the capital, being the opening move of a fairly long seige

That would be amusing, and reminds me of a passing thought I had concerning the slave rebellion idea… In the Empire Harbor area of the second game, there is a Tower Gate in a secluded corner of the map amongst some large boulders/small hills, so what if Hiccup used said gate to rapidly bring in building materials to create a fort around the Gate, using it both as a headquarters and escape route for the rebellion, and to cut off the Heartlands from sea trade?

As I said it was merely a passing thought, and the idea of them being Hiccup's epilogue kids had occurred to me before the idea of adding them to the story proper

I will do such when I get the chance then With my imagination's usual erraticness, I've been hit by an idea, that I admit I'm unlikey to use, for some Disney characters I might include, partly based on your suggestion of the sorceresses having 'daughters' they try and convinced Hiccup to take as mistresses… While I've never watched them, based on what I've heard about them the Descendants films feature characters that are actually the daughters of Maleficent, Grimhilde, and Ursula (not sure about any offspring of Mim or Mirage though) so what if they were part of the story and viewed Hiccup as a little brother of sorts?

Hiccup will likely be happy he gets to go through with the experiment, but I doubt the other sorceresses will be pleased with Mim... Though now I'm struck by the idea of Hiccup explaining his idea to Toothless who gives him an odd look before slowly asking "You want to turn yourself into a fish? Fish are food..."

That is rather amusing, I had been considering having one of the sorceresses, likely Maleficent or Grimhilde, possibly alerted by Mirage, catching him still in the planning stages and going "No, just no."

Hmm... These are possibilities. I admit I didn't know (though I by no means claim to know everything) that any of the Native American tribes (I assume ones dwelling near the coasts) had tales of octopus folk, my knowledge of the mythology is mostly about beasts of the land and sky... Another idea has occurred to me, similar to the thought of 'what if young Hiccup, trying to mimic Maleficent, tried to give himself wings during the prologue', what if he also tried to give himself gills, as one would assume the various merfolk, such as Ursula, would have?

These are possibilities, though I didn't know Gabriel (isn't that the one that deaf and/or mute) was based on a fan. And if I recall the show correctly they also introduced merfolk that were part shark, Sharkanians, though they only showed males of said species and ones that were part manta/sting ray, though those seemed to be limited to a single father some pair... I think they also had an episode showing more of Ursula's kind, called Octopoids, though in real life mythology such beings are called cecaelia

Eh, that is true… On an unrelated note, I remembered a character I found by accident on the Disney wiki that I might try and add to the story… Apparently some of the animated Disney movies had comics that went with them, and The Little Mermaid had one called The Serpentteen, which featured the Moray, merfolk with the tails of moray eels, and the electric eel's (which incidentally is neither sea dwelling, or actualky an eel, its a member of the knifefish family, so named because most of the members resemble the blade of a knife in outline), whose princess was named Celia, and was rather similar to Ariel in personality, and when Ariel and Celia first met after Ariel had crossed the trench that marked the border of Moray lands, the first time members of their species had met in generations, Celia tried to catch Ariel for a pet, not realising Ariel was sentient, somewhat similar to how a human might keep a monkey as a pet

I had meant for them to be mistresses, and the idea of Jewel being inspired by 'The Scourge' has merit... Or perhaps she IS the Scourge, the real daughter of Abis Mal?

I have watched the show, though it was many a moon ago, and I had forgotten the 'Jasmine is brainwashed to be evil' episode I had intended for Tiana and Charlotte to have access to a hidden Tower Gate, allowing them to get freed slaves to freedom, and allow them to visit the Tower Uh... Are we talking about the Rose left in charge of Spree?.. Inspired how?..

If there is it isn't seeing fit to occur to me... Tiana- I think I might have mentioned this, but she alongside Charlotte would be former Empire slaves in charge of the slave rebellion Hiccup either funds or outright starts in the Empire Heartlands Jasmine- My vague plan had her being sultana of a version of Agrabah inhabited by nagas, mainly inspired by the episode where she gets turned into a naga. Might add Sadira as her right hand woman
