    If you have Netflix and you’re looking for a fun animated series to watch, I’d like to recommend Glitch Techs. The main characters are fun and likable (Miko’s way of speaking reminds me a lot of Star Butterfly’s), and the show is full of amusing video game references that even non-fanatics like me get.

      I’ve mostly been trimming my own hair, bit by bit and occasionaly buzzing it all off, for over 15 years. In other words, I don’t care how awful it looks because it distracts from my face, my body, my personality, etc. ;)

    Lately, I’ve seen a lot of people (mostly on TV shows) misusing the expression “Divide and conquer.” This phrase does NOT mean “Split up to tackle separate tasks.” It means “Separate your enemies from one another so you can more easily overpower them.”

    Lately, whenever I try to look at the reviews of any of my stories, my browser has been giving me the “Your connection is not private. Attackers might be trying to steal your information from cartoon.adult-fanfiction.org (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).” Is this happening to anyone else?

    Made a weird discovery today: Someone has translated the first chapter of my SVTFOE fic “Star’s Crossed Lovers” into Spanish and posted it on Wattpad. My feeling of flattery is somewhat dampened by the fact that the translator neither asked my permission nor included my name with the post (although he/she does not claim to be the author).

      Thanks for the input and sympathy, all. I decided to let the translator know that I am OK with the posting if he or she adds my name to the title or summary, but if that doesn’t happen within the next week, I’ll report the story for violating Wattpad’s community guidelines.

      Well, the translator has already added my name to the title and the summary and apologized for translating the chapter without asking my permission. I am satisfied, and I have given my permission to translate the rest of the story.

    More of George’s Phone Follies: A while back, I had to delete my phone’s entire custom dictionary because every time I began typing a word that began with the letter F, it wouldn’t stop suggesting “fuckfuckfuckityfuck” (which I used ONCE in a chapter of “Country Summer”).

    My The Loud House fanfic “Whoops” surpassed 30,000 hits yesterday, which is more than double the number for any other fanfic I’ve ever written (and a lot of those have been posted for years). Not sure why this one is so popular, but I ain’t complainin’.

    My mom died this week. She had been on a downward spiral since my dad died a couple of months ago; she missed him terribly, and I think it was more than her limited mental resources (she had multi-infarct dementia) could handle. But she told me years ago that she had done everything really important that she wanted to do in her life, so whenever death came, she would be all right with it. Knowing that makes me all right with it, too.

    So I’m wondering: When I finish my She-Ra and the Princesses of Power fanfic (God help me), should I request a new category for it, or should I post it with the stories from the old She-Ra show? (Last post there was in 2012.)

      Thundercats only has the one category for all the series’ so it looks like there’s some precedent for sticking new series in with 80s series! I guess it’ll take a mod to give the decision :)

      I suppose it would make sense to put it in the existing She-Ra category, as it’s just labeled “She-Ra” and doesn’t include the “Princess of Power” subtitle that would make it specific to the 80s series.

      I think sticking with the original She-Ra category is certainly the quickest solution.

    So my dad died recently. He was very old, and was refusing treatment because he was tired of how debilitated he had become, so I’m at peace with it. He had a good life. But this morning, I had my first “I have to remember to tell him about...oh, wait, I can’t” moment, and that made me a little sad.

      Oh crud, I’m so sorry. :hug:   I get that feeling a lot for a super tech-savvy old friend who passed away just as Wikipedia and YouTube were becoming real things, so often while watching or reading about tech stuff I think of how much he’d have loved all of it. The fact that I get to think about him at random once in a while like that makes me happy, and it will be the same for you. Best wishes to you and the family.

    The wife and I have been taking turns being sick since Thanksgiving weekend. I think we’re finally both past it. But at least I managed to make an awesome Christmas dinner (including my first baked Alaska).
