  1. *clings to Madapple's ankle* Good. Seriously, I would walk up to random people on the street and thank them for her insight. Unfortunately, they might hit me with the pepper spray again. *wanders off to eat pizza and contemplate a possible parody plot, as though I need more to do... *

  3. I'm sorry to say, no. StoryJunkie?
  4. Neither have I! Which begs the question, if no one buys them new, then where do the used ones come from? Freaky... I have never shaved my head.
  5. Ha! She's my beta! You can't have her!
  6. Because, in order to overrate themselves, they must steal our precious value...and our jewel shards. Why does everything I happen to see on Cartoon Network at 3am have something to do with "jewel shards"?
  7. ^ Saw my last journal entry... < "Dear Diary, it's polywolly. Yesterday, I kept mistaking the word "tits" for "coffee". You don't know how embarrassing that was. You don't want to know the kind of glares I received after I asked if anyone had any titty creamer and when I mentioned that I hadn't had enough tits that afternoon. I'm afraid I've caught the gay." V likes to write in all lowercase without punctuation its cool and people do it alot er a lot lol
  8. Oogled someone...oogled someone...do pictures count? Actually, no, not in person. I've never been prone to staring at anything besides words. If given the chance, and a time machine, I'd oogle my ass off. I have never worked a true graveyard shift.
  9. If you spell it backwards and erase the "e", you're spot on. Since she's so cool...Melody!

    I Am...

I am of the mind that there is NEVER enough coffee. I am admitting that I earned several odd glares from people today when I smiled at odd times when thinking of gas stations and tangos. I am also admitting that fire balls never played into the scenario, unless of course by "balls" you mean Rickman and by “fire” you mean Alan.
  11. *dies a wonderful death from laughing* I can picture it...the Dark Mark tat...the little, oval name patch..."Sev"... *raises mug of tepid coffee* Here's to spontaneous inspiration! May the greenhorns motivate the masters to bigger, better and greasier things! And…phillips head screwdrivers! *laughs manically*
  12. We HAVE to get together and watch my DVDs sometime. I have quite a few that star whatshisname...you know, the one with the freakishly apparent charisma. Yeah, him. I know you'd never guess, but I'm sort of a closeted fan of his. BTW, Obadiah is a wonderful example of how whatshisname looks in my imagination when I'm writing Snape. He's...mmm... *mind wanders and all thought ceases save for...mmm...*

    I Am...

I am telling everyone that StoryJunkie is allergic to ghost sneezes, but only a little. I am now convinced that everyone should dance at a gas station. Right, Nanaea?
  15. ^ Won't get struck down. < Is about to quote the words of Ben Harper, because you know, Ben is over >. > "If you don't like my fire, then don't come around, 'cause I'm gonna burn one do-ow-ow-ow-own." V Knows that song is from "Fight for Your Mind".
  16. 2525 <----- I rock! I'm putting this on my resume...yes I am.
  17. On the contrary, I am no longer allowed to ask, "So, when ya due?" to someone who is just, well, let's say, not pregnant.
  18. ^ Should have video taped the ragweed smokers. < Is going to put up flyers that state, "Just because it has 'weed' in the name does not mean that you should smoke it." < Will put several up near StoryJunkie's house. V Has seen people smoke the catnip.
  19. Hate to spoil the fun... Melody, it's time.

  21. ...Severus asked, his face marred by two streaks of grease from his last swipe at his sweaty brow. "Metric or SAE, dear?" "Metric. We're British, aren't we? On second though, bring me the standard so I can curse about the difference like a true mechanic." "Certainly..."
  22. Oh, you know Snape can see you! I won't even write fanfiction unless I'm wearing a parka! Anyway... As a Snape/Granger author, I shudder when I see a SS/HG story titled, "The Brake-Up". Brake up! I left a review that encourages her to fix it. Here's hoping... *wanders off giggling and muttering "the BRAKE up..."*

Ha! Gap smap, I say! I'm 26, and I usually impress people with my maturity while dumbfounding them at my ability to be utterly silly. There is no such thing as young or old--only alive. It's how one handles being alive through the years that changes their priorities. In some ways, I think it is sophistication. I agree wholeheartedly with Inkslinger. As writers, I think we do put more thought into what we say, as well as everything else in our lives. In writing a story, we have to focus on a characters motivations, and in life, we are more forgiving of the faults of others because we can identify with things beyond our own life experiences. I'm babbling now...moving on... To touch on what Melody said, I have the same opinion of some of my friends, both younger and older. It astounds me that most can talk at length about nothing other than the mundane, usually work. There are few who I can talk about music, literature, or a good movie with anymore. The same people I conversed with a few years ago on those very topics have been sucked into the perpetual "kids, house, work" repetition. I remove myself from work during my lunch hour now because I can't stand to listen to people prattle on about work for an entire hour when that is my time to NOT talk about work-related topics. Eight hours is enough. They can't have my ninth, damn it! There are few I've encountered on this forum that I would consider "immature". I've always found the people who frequent this forum to be much more "real" than those you see elsewhere. There isn't an I'm better than you attitude. We're all here to have fun and write some stories, and I think we're all a little saner for it, our physical age be damned!
  25. You took the words right out of my head. Someone who writes or creates understands that sort of separation from the world. A writer is constantly analyzing their emotions, their motivations, as well as the emotions and motivations of everyone they come into contact with on a daily basis. What would the literary arts be without that insatiable curiosity? On to the topic... I recognize a close connection between writing and music, probably because I'm involved in both. It is common practice for a musician to take a song written by another musician and practice with it, expand upon it, add their own touches to it, "cover" it. That's what it's called. A band that plays the music of other bands is called a "cover band". It is also accepted that musicians learn another artist's songs because they like them, they enjoying playing them. The melody is something that speaks to them on a level that other songs just never manage to reach. Isn't that what we're all doing, those of us taking part in fanfiction? Some of us use the characters other authors have created to make ourselves better writers and better storytellers. Some of us have been affected by a story and its characters so much so that we feel the need to write about them, give them our own twist, see if we can write another character as the original author might, or in some cases, even better. Is there anything wrong with that? No. The same people who bash fanfiction are the same people who, for example, comb their hair the same way some celebrity does. They were affected by something, perhaps something silly, and they emulated it. Some people look great with that celebrities hairstyle, while others look positively ridiculous. The fact of the matter is that it's a free expression. Without the freedom to express ourselves, to emulate our peers, or to allow our imaginations to run wild with our own characters or those already imagined, the world would be a horribly boring place to live. Personally, I wouldn't want to live in that world.
