My user name is mccargos
email is nealymccargos@gmail.com
it says that it’s registered to many times or not registered. I know it has to be the first one
You only have one account registered for this email address, but it looks like you tried to reset the password again. The link on your profile isn’t working properly. I’ll email you a new set of links.

I clicked The Big Valley when I posted but it posted to 1-800-Missing. I’ve tried editing but it keeps posting in the wrong forum. Help?
I moved the story to the correct category for you. (I also fixed the disclaimer and added story tags as well while I was there.)

Just to be sure, you have stories posted under the account. Do you want those deleted as well?

Everytime I try to choose a password they don't work. I've tried 6 different ones with no joy. Can you help with this?
I’m not finding an account for you with a pen name to match your guest name. It would help if I could see the account, and maybe figure out the issue.
However, as a general rule:
Password rules recap: Between 12-18 letters and/or numbers long, case sensitive. NO punctuation, spaces, or special characters allowed. Do NOT use your old password, or let Google make a strong password full of forbidden characters for you.

I am still being told that the email is blocked. I tried sending the information as plain text, but that did not help. I can’t send you a PM if you don’t have a forum account. The only other thing I could try would be to reach you on another site. I do maintain accounts on FFN and AO3, and could PM you on either of those sites.
The email service you use is no longer being supported by the original ISP/carrier, which might be part of the problem. And, as we’re seeing play out here, it is critical for maintain a valid working email address so we can reach you to troubleshoot issues or communicate information.
If you have another email address that works, I can actually update the email address for your existing account, so you don’t lose your posted stories, although I’m not sure saved reading lists were imported into the new archive code. (My recommended authors did carry over, but not my recommended reading or current reading lists on my own profile.) You would retain all your reviews on your stories, reviews you’ve posted, hit count data, and so on.

Yes but what I tend to find is people who say “Hey, we can’t pay you right now but if you generate revenue for us, we’ll pay you for it.” or something along those lines.
I’ve been having this argument about writing in particular, but it doesn’t happen in just writing. For some reason, in writing people are expected to do free work on the promise of future financial success. The way I’ve put it is “No one ever says come work at this retail outlet for 10 years for free and if you do a good job, I’ll think about paying you at some point”.
It happens more often in writing, but increasingly I’m seeing it in other opportunities. That’s the sad truth, isn’t it?
“Take this position for minimum wage, and we’ll move you up when there’s an opening.” But the opening never comes, or the manager’s kid gets tapped for it, and you get stuck at minimum wage, doing the work of two people because the manager’s kid isn’t actually going to do anything.
Or you look at job listings, and they want five or more years experience for an entry level position that was advertised as no experience required. (My Elderspawn is beating their head against that wall at present.)
And writing? If you’re talking fiction writing, the generally accepted wisdom is that most writers need a day job to pay the bills. You’ll never make a living as a writer of fiction unless you get very, very lucky. What you’re likely to find is those situation you referenced: Write us a few pieces for free, and we’ll get you a post where you get paid. Possibly. Unless we can figure out a way to get you to keep writing for free…

Why is everyone trying to give me jobs where I don’t get paid? Seems to happen a lot.
Because I’m evil and I like to drag people into the darkest bowels of AFF?

I’m a native speaker of American English, with fluency in British English, and the remnants of the French I once spoke (although I’m crushing it in Duolingo). I read a smattering of Latin, and can muddle my way through reading basic things in Spanish, Italian, and German.
Then again, I’m old enough to remember when a foreign language was taught as early as elementary school, along with music. (Never show me one of those plastic recorders—I still have flashbacks.)

Hmm, okay. I think I figured it out. I put in the correct email that should be available. I just assumed that I would get the emails.
When I clicked the link in the email, I got an “Activation Successful” message. Is that the correct thing?
Also, just FYI, the word successful is misspelled when you do that. It’s got one less ‘c’ than it should.Yes, that’s the correct thing. And you’ll find a few typos in the archive. One of these days, when manta doesn’t have any hellacious security fixes or codes updates going on, I’ll point them out to her for correction. In the meantime, I’m treating them like Easter eggs, to see who actually notices the misspelled words.

I was going with “good boy” because in this instance, it is supposed to hind that the young man not only is respectful based on encounters from before but that he hasn't even been with a woman.
so she is teasing him and also complimenting him at him being “a good boy” not sure about shy
Why not have her call him a little virgin?

Yes, that’s generally what I would like. But previously when I tried to edit the tags, it wouldn’t let me. The admins mentioned that it was because things are still being done with the archive. So I don’t want to have to reach out to the admins because they have enough work to do. But I also want my readers to see the way the story actually is.
In this particular case, there’s only two chapters for the story though. It would be very quick turn around. It’s not a lot of work for me to add a tag, honestly.
As far as not getting the review emails, check your profile. There’s green button that reads “Review Notify” and if you click that, at the bottom of the page (scroll down) you’ll see the option to say yes or no via a dropdown to getting review emails. Then click the green “Update” button at the bottom to save your choice.
