The location of a tramp stamp is fairly specific, as @GeorgeGlass noted. In general, it’s placed so that wearing pants/skirts that fasten around the waist or even a bit lower would hide the tattoo. Wearing very low-rise pants would, however, reveal the tattoo, as would a bikini bathing suit, thong panties, and so on. I suppose one could use a tramp stamp as a sort of claim tattoo, but it seems odd that a man possessive enough to ink his woman with a claim mark would place it where she’d have to dress provocatively for it to show. It’s counter-intuitive, I’d think. “If you can see the crack of her ass, you can see she’s mine because the tattoo says so.” Unless, of course, his thing is to have her on display, in which case, go for it.

We actually don’t allow live links in the archive itself. You can post the url as a text line, which can then be copied and pasted by readers, however, or you can direct them to your profile to find the story by title in your Stories Written section.

I hope so too! It looks like either a space of a line return went missing somewhere. I’m 99% code-stupid, but I’ve done some very minor programming review for fire alarm panels (don’t ask!) and a dropped space or line return could screw the entire program, necessitating a line-by-line review.

The “MIME-Version 1.0” portion shouldn’t appear. The emails should come from just “noreply@adult-fanfiction.org” so perhaps that’s something in the code that needs tweaking?

@Desiderius Price is correct—you can view your stats in your profile under the Stories Written tab, which is a pretty quick way to access those details. When you look there, you’ll see all the subdomains where you’ve published stories, and clicking on any of those subdomains gives you all the stories with their statistics. And that’s one of a few typos in the archive that make me itch as well, but sadly, I don’t have access to fix those metaphorical pebbles in my metaphorical shoe. While things are still being debugged, it hasn’t been a priority to fix the typos. We’ll get to it, though, if only to soothe the editor portion of my brain.

Some email clients, like Microsoft and Yahoo, have filters in place that can erroneously mark incoming mail as spam. When we sent out the emails to our members about the recent reactivation, Yahoo delayed or simply rejected an enormous number of our emails. There were also issues with the Microsoft email clients, particularly Outlook and Hotmail. So not receiving review emails, when that feature is up and running properly again, might require tweaking your email settings.

It’s so refreshing to meet people who remember dial-up, and the joys of being able to say you had a 2400 baud modem when your friends only had 1200 baud. Once we finish debugging the last bits of the updated code, members will be able to add tags manually, in addition to the tags available in the dropdown. We pared our tag list down in an effort to make it manageable, but I don’t recall boob sex or cleavage sex being a tag even before the culling of the tags. We would have no problem with your adding the tag manually, at the top of the chapter if you like, or I can add it into the tag field for you. As far as the age-related tags, we want there to be no ambiguity about the content because it can be extremely triggering for readers. If someone sees mf as a tag, given that the newsgroups aren’t the main source of written smut, it is highly likely the reader will not understand it denotes adolescents under the age of 18 because it is written in lower case, and bg won’t be interpreted as “boy/girl” as intended by the newsgroup usage. Most readers don’t keep the tag list open, so we want to make it as clear and transparent as possible. The word “Minor” is unambiguous enough to make a reader stop dead if they don’t want to read that sort of content.

Review replies go in the Fan Fiction section of the forum, in one of the four threads right after “Searching for a Fic”. I use a general thread for my original fiction, and another general thread for my fan fiction. (That’s why I identify the story by name, and then the reviewer name before I quote the review itself.) Both of those live in the All Other Subdomains section, under their own subcategories of Original Writing and Games. So, for your Buffy fiction, you’d post the review reply thread in the Non Anime/Single Fandom Subdomains section, in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer subcategory.

Are you able to log in while using the VPN, and do you stay logged in for the session, or are you logged out when you go to a new page? I’m trying to get s much detail as I can for @manta2g

My personal preference is to copy and paste the body of the review, and lead off with the title of the story being reviewed, and the name left by the reviewer so they know I’m acknowledging their review. The I paste the review text and frame it as a quote, and then I reply. I’m not a forum mod, so take this with a grain of salt, but I don’t think it’s an issue if you want to use a screenshot of the review instead of copying and pasting like I do.
