I've cleared my cache and cookies, and had the same issue. I finally got to the sign-in page, and cannot sign in, which rather puts a damper on things. I can, however, sign in from the Beta.

I have some that are one-shots, and some that sort of turned into a sort of series over the years. But even those are able to stand alone. So now I have a little project after the rollout!

This may be a setting on your web browser. I would start there and see if an auto-translate feature has been turned on by default. I opened a French fiction, and although my browser does auto-translate at least one language, it did not try to translate the French to English. If that’s not the case, perhaps clearing your cache and refreshing the page will reset it properly to display in French.

Trying to do the right thing for this woman he cares for, and asa result ending up separated. Also, absolutely not believing Angaine saying it’sdaft to say she cared for him. I mean, I get it could just be that he was herbest shot as the one looking out for her, but it still sounds from his POVrecollections that she was above and beyond nicer to him! Her too, fretting andworrying away over him. I guess it’s happy for her that she gets to go home,but sad that she can’t go with him, because even if he goes back on the landfor a wander, she’s off under the mountains. Ah well, he’s gotta be happier under the sea at the end. I mean,it sounds like his soul’s still down there. Just sort of spread about a bitamongst the sea fae, but in the general vicinity. After reading the bit about the state of the little ones, eventhe one that got a bit bitey, you can see why they went full Tsunami againstthe human settlement at the end there. Folks kinda had it coming, even withoutkeeping Angaine chained up and exploited. But Darri though! That guy was just too pure. Even the ol’sea hag is like double-taking “Such innocence” Ah well, all the fish he can eatin the sea, and none of that gruel either! Proper simple not even thinkingabout sex or any of that type innocence. Did half wonder if he might end upromantic with Wavesinger, but, no, his only feelings were for Angaine and eventhen there was nothing mucky. Ah, well, a fine story! Was good to see it in thelittle anthology. Thank you! Honestly, I think Darri is one of those utterly simple types who doesn't think much beyond doing what he’s told, and Angaine’s too damned angry about being chained to the floor to see Darri as more than a tool. But yes, Wavesinger held a pretty large grudge against humans, enough to overlook his grudge against the deep fae and work with Angaine. But now, both Wavesinger and Darri live at the end, so one has to wonder if they’ll manage to hook up, eventually. If Darri doesn’t get nibbled to death by the bitey little ones.

I should actually know this myself, but to be honest, I’m not sure, so I’m going to defer to The Ultimate Authority, @DemonGoddess to give us a ruling. Now, personally, given that I do have a few holiday chapters floating around, I would love to be able to cross-post them to my profile as well. There’s one or two I’m quite pleased with, and I wouldn’t mind them getting a marginally wider audience. But I’ll go with whatever DG rules on this one.

It’s not so much that they’re a scammer as it is that we don’t allow soliciting for commissions on AFF. I’m not sure if the new software will actually stop them altogether, or if we’ll have to rely on reports and go from there. But we have much better tools with the new software, which should help cut down on the spamming and scamming going forward!

I did manage a Hallowe’en fic this year, for a change! I started a Holiday fic but things got crazy. I might still try to finish it, maybe by Midwinter?

It was actually no trouble at all, with the new beta. I do want to check with manta before I attempt moving the one from Movies to Cartoons, however. We have a new widget for that as well, but there were all sorts of cautionary statements, and I’m likely to end up summoning something I can’t banish...

I was able to move the stories in Cartoons to the proper subcategory.

I have to wonder what the ultimate outcome will be for Darri after selling his soul (No afterlife? Bound to the water fae forever?), but he did win Angaine her freedom and got a bonus water-breathing ability on top of that. He'll probably be persona non grata in the human world unless he starts wearing sunglasses or something (I recently watched Blue Eye Samurai, so...), and he's not fae either, but being half this and half that is a great start to becoming a legendary hero. Or else a cool bartender at an edgy tavern. Great story! Thank you! Darri was just a victim throughout the story, the village idiot so to speak, and the only one who was consistently decent to him was Angaine, so of course he’d want to win her freedom. The fact that she was merely using him as her errand boy didn’t matter to Darri, although I do think she felt some measure of guilt when the sea fae took him. As far as the Cailleach Mhara, she didn’t really care that Darri was making a less than informed choice either. She had her own ends in mind, to protect her people, and taking a human soul was the means to that end. What it would mean for him to be soulless was largely irrelevant, which is why deals with the fae are never a good idea. The only one who acted to help Darri was the Wavesinger, and he destroyed an entire human village in the process, along with Angaine. Again, fae ethics are not inclined to include humans, even if the Wavesinger saw Darri as someone to be honored for sacrificing his soul. If I had to guess, I would say Darri and the Wavesinger are going to swim off and become the lead characters in an underwater buddy movie, overturning human fishing boats and sneaking into human villages to drink a little blood…
