Ooohhh, your holiday feast sounds remarkably like ours, which should not surprise me as much as it does. :D

  4. On October 20th, I’ll start the anthology and then participants can click the ‘add chapter’ to put their entry up. If you’re curious what it’ll look like, here’s last year’s anthology, hosted by @Tahn http://original.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600108780 It’ll look something like that. I will make an announcement here in the forums as soon as it’s up. Grats on finishing your story

Actually, I'm pretty sure Butthead briefed everyone on this back in the 90s.

You can find all sorts of fun things if you google image search it. I suddenly have a craving for cake.

The cake is a lie. I think that’s Weight Watchers’ new motto.

  6. I think different people evolve differently. I’m a fickle bitch, and tend to obsess over small techniques and details so my style changes rapidly. I’ve been writing 2/3rds of my life and yet if I look back at something I wrote six months ago, I’ll still find something to cringe about like “omg I was such an amateur back then!” But I can see how someone who starts writing late that spent their life reading and subconsciously forming their individual style in their head, might be good right out of the gate. Wordsmithing even comes more naturally to some people where others have to practice and work a lot harder at it.
  7. Man oh man. My first fan fic was written… in like the year 1998-1999. I don’t remember what it was. I imagine it was on pen and paper and about the show Breaker High with a lot of pregnancies happening. Most likely in script format. I think the oldest one I submitted on this site in particular – is probably Crossfire. I’ve always kinda wanted to go back and touch it up, because it is the pride and joy of my fanfiction era fics, and it is completed. I probably won’t, but I like to think about it. Maybe I should take this challenge on one of the easy ones. Like a oneshot or something. Does going the easy route defeat the purpose of it being a challenge?
  8. I’m glad you asked. It does not have to be directly related to Halloween. I suspect most entries won’t be, or at least they’ll be fairly mixed like they were last year. As long as it’s dark or scary, you’re good to go. My entry isn’t directly connected to Halloween either. It’s in the 17th century lol. Just pirates and ghosty things. Go wherever your twisted imagination takes you.
  9. You have nooo idea how much I love this answer.
  10. Awesome! I was waiting to see what you were working on!
  11. awwww it’s sweet that you remembered lol
  12. Are you putting the altar boy fic here ahead of the Christmas anthology or are you submitting it to the halloween anthology?
  13. @InvidiaRed Now I’m excited. I loooove synth stories. I can’t wait!
  14. Gotta love a lore bomb. Is ‘Synth’ The title?
  15. Okay. I did it:

If someone else was hoping to do it, or if I did it wrong, let me know and we can work it out.

Sounds like we have a volunteer to run it this year…. :congratualtions:@CloverReef  :)

  18. If I was an M/F writer in the Saiyuki fandom, yeah I’d have to do the whole OC thing too. The few female characters who make infrequent, repeat appearances, from what I recall (It’s been years since I dipped into my Saiyuki DVD collection) weren’t all that interesting to me. Saiyuki was a great place to write M/M though, lol.
  19. @Kei0523 I spent a lot of time as a lurker here before I became a regular so I get it. Feel free to send me a PM if you ever need to talk it out.
  20. I left agent MacKenna in a kitchen with a possessed medium.
  21. @Kei0523 The fact that you did eventually come back, even if it's just one story, says a lot. Though I do hope you have more stories in you. I like having new people around to play with.
  22. Started out writing a cop drama. Somehow ended up writing a ghost story… about cops… Old habits die hard, I guess.

As long as you’re not writing R.I.P.D., it’s all good.

  23. Review for Brick and Bone Hello again @Sinfulwolf! It made me laugh when you brought up the trend with cops. I’ve actually done a lot of thinking about this. After Cold Snap I actively tried to avoid cop characters, but none of those fics made it off the cutting room floor. I love cops as a symbolic tool. They’re protectors, heroes, and super sexy in their uniforms. Sure, they’re prone to corruption as any institution is, but since they’ve become the public, street-level face of an unbalanced justice system, they have come to represent power and oppression. I’m a big fan of interesting power dynamics, so cops will probably continue to pop up in my stories, hopefully on various places on the protagonist/antagonist spectrum. I’m glad the sex didn’t throw you off too much. The flow of it through the last half of the story was really what I was most worried about. Good news is, I do have an F/F story written for Halloween. Can’t promise it’ll be any good, but I actually enjoyed writing it. Thank you for the review <3
  24. Author: PlagueClover Title: Brick and Bone Summary: He’s been trapped under the house for decades. He doesn’t remember his name, so he claims the last one on his tongue. He doesn’t remember how he got there or his life before, but when two unsuspecting criminals show up, none of that matters anymore. They give him a taste of freedom he never thought he’d get, and now that his appetite has been whetted, he’ll let nothing stand in his way. Feedback: Absolutely. Fandom: Original Warnings: M/M, Rape, Anal, Spank Length: 2 Chapters URL: http://original.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600109120 Review Reply thread:
  25. Tell us about it, Anon, maybe we can help. Are you still writing?
