  1. I’ve always found the set up of the Archives to be so user-friendly and logical. If you want a fan fiction that is based on the original fairytale, you go to books. If you want a fan fiction that is based on later interpretations of the story, such as cartoons, movies, comics, TV shows, you check the relevant categories. Even if the cartoons, movies, comics, and TV shows are based on the original story, they are independent interpretation of the fairytale. Therefore, they go into their specific categories, which are based on the medium of the story telling, basically. And I still need you to edit your first post in this thread to the standard form needed for category requests, or I’m moving this thread to the General Staff Questions, because it has gone way beyond a category request.
  2. I’m locking this thread since the spambots have found it.
  3. If there are existing stories in the Archive that are marked as being “Thumbelina” fan fiction then yes, those would be moved to the new category when it is created. Although probably not until they would be found by our Cleanup Crew, if we are not notified about those stories beforehand. I do not understand what you mean by your second question, “At moment can we change the fandom or language?”. If you mean whether it is allowed to post stories in another language than English, then yes we do allow that, as long as the disclaimer and summary of the story are written in English, so our moderators can understand them, since at the moment all of the staff are English speakers. And third, no. If you write a fan fiction based on the story Thumbelina, you would have to place it in either Books or Cartoons, based on which format of the story you are basing your fan fiction on. I am not an archive mod so I don’t know all of the categories there, but I do think that under Books or Cartoons, there should be categories like General, Het – Male/Female, Slash – Male/Male, etc. and you would place the story in the appropriate subcategory. And if you wish for this category to be created, you must edit your first post with the standard format of request as displayed in the link that I posted for you. Willow Darkling, forum moderator.
  4. This is what we need when requesting a new category: http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/topic/63215-requesting-a-new-category/
  5. MerulaAeolus, you can drop us a line here: http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/forum/94-software/ in the Archive or Forum tech support as appropriate if you want to regain access to your accounts. Looking at your profile I can not see any disciplinary actions that would have resulted in you losing access to your account on the forum. I do not have access to the Archive side of things, but our Archive admin will be happy to help you if you need access to that account as well. Willow Darkling, forum moderator.
  6. I missed that the publication mentioned in the now deleted post was a fan fiction, so thank you for that, BronxWench. So, the post in question has been deleted, and all further links to said publication will be deleted on sight, and any further mention of it could result in further action. Willow Darkling, forum moderator.
  7. We do not allow any kind of commissions to be offered or requested on this site. Being paid in any form for writing fan fiction is strictly illegal, and could get not only the author into trouble, but also the site that hosts said author. Your above post has therefore been edited accordingly. Any further mentions of the monetizing site will be deleted on sight. Willow Darkling, forum moderator.
  8. The site did not crash, we just had a bit of downtime because we are migrating to another server. Please check the site announcements for further information. Willow Darkling, forum moderator
  9. We do not allow the posting of images of any kind in the forum outside the Art Room (membership required to view) and the above post has therefore been edited accordingly. Relevant site rule can be found here: http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/topic/66222-can-i-upload-pornographic-pictures-to-the-forum/ Willow Darkling, forum moderator.
  10. As is stated at the top of this forum: The above post has therefore been edited accordingly, and any and all further requests for or offers of a copy of the story will be removed. Willow Darkling, forum moderator.
  11. It would still be paying the author for writing fan fiction, so the simple answer is, we do not allow that either.
  12. And we don’t allow offers of or requests for commissions on the forum either. You have been warned about this before, Lucius-Walker.
  13. I’m not an archive mod, and I’m not in charge of approving forum profiles either, but what I can tell you is that an archive profile is needed to create a forum profile, so it’s entirely possible that that is causing the error on the forum side for you. But, our forum admin lives in the Southern Hemisphere and is therefore not going to come on until basically it’s night time in the US, so bear with us, but I’ll do like BronxWench did and tag @Melrick in so he’ll see this post and can answer you definitively Also, forum profiles have to be approved by Melrick, and he checks if the Archive profiles are legit before he’ll approve forum profiles, just so you know about that. And thank you so much for your patience and understanding and no worries about the double posting since you can’t log in. We just hope we can get this all working for you as soon.
  14. To clarify, making money of writing fan fiction is illegal by USA law (and elsewhere too) and therefore we do not allow any questions or requests for payments of any kind. This includes Patreon and other such platforms. It could cause not only the author, but also this site a great deal of legal trouble if it were found to be hosting stories that have been paid for in any way, including “supporting” the author of said stories. Willow Darkling, forum moderator.
  15. Just so there’s no doubt, we do not allow commissions of any kind on the sites, and the above post has therefore been edited accordingly. Willow Darkling, forum moderator
  16. Please create a Review Reply thread in the appropriate subforum in the Fan Fiction forum, and conduct all questions, feedback and review replies there. We try to keep the threads in this forum solely for promoting stories and updating when new chapters are posted. You can add a link to the Review Reply thread in the form in your first post here. Willow Darkling, forum moderator.
  17. Adding, now that I’ve had a chance to take a look on my computer, it appears that the problem has been fixed, so being the complete computer-illiterate that I am, I’m going to suggest you clear all cookies and caches, paying special attention to all AFF related cookies, close down the browser and restart it, and then try again to get the password reset email. If that doesn’t work, provide us with a link to your account, and tell us what type of email you have (gmail, hotmail, outlook etc. Since I don’t recommend posting your full email address in a public forum) and our head moderator will take a look for you as soon as she can.
  18. Our admin and tech admin are working on the issue, which seems to be that the code isn’t generating the password reset emails the way that it should. If you could provide a link to your account our head moderator can possibly help you when she comes on later today. Willow Darkling, forum moderator
  19. Yeah, sorry about that. I jumped the gun there.
  20. We do not either allow links to places where the story has been posted by anyone other than the original author, so any further links of that nature will be deleted on sight. The author’s wishes should be respected by everyone. Willow Darkling, forum moderator.

The story has apparently been deleted by the author, so please respect that. Willow Darkling, forum moderator
  22. It’s taken me all day to process this…

Rest in peace, love and rock & roll, Taylor Hawkins.

  23. Please conduct further discussion of this story in the place where it is posted, and leave this thread for discussions of the original challenge/request. Willow Darkling, forum moderator.
  24. Congratulations on the new job, James
  25. Just so it’s absolutely clear, we do not allow the offering or requesting of copies of stories. Only links to places where the author has posted their story. Also, links to stuff like the Wayback machine are not allowed either. Willow Darkling, forum moderator.
