Thank you for that. We had to implement the 10 line rule in the Requests and Challenges forum, because of the disclaimer and copyright issues, but haven’t really needed to enforce it elsewhere. But I figured that little previews could be allowed while we’re in Read only mode. I’ll have to add that rule to the Forum TOS eventually.

I’m unfortunately going to have to ask you to reduce the amount of story content in the above post. We can’t allow story content in the forums, due to disclaimer and copyright issues. But, because of the archives being down, we will allow story content of up to 35 lines (instead of the usual 10 lines) of text. That means lines of text, so if a sentence needs a line or two extra to finish then that’s fine. So, please reduce the story content above to within that limit. Willow Darkling, forum moderator.

Dagian is right. The site is still in read only mode, but coder is working very hard on getting us back up. The hacker has been relentless and every time our coder has come close to getting us back up, they attack again and we have to shut everything down again. But our coder and admin are working on it, and hopefully we’ll be up and running again soon. Thank you for your understanding and patience, and most of all for your continued support of the site. New Year’s Eve was quiet, and I’ve been spending New Year’s Day catching up on laundry and configuring the new computer, which is replacing my 10-year old Dell. (Yes, I finally surrendered and admitted I can’t tweak it anymore without replacing pretty much everything inside it, which led to the realization that it was cheaper to just buy a new computer…
)

Sleeping aside, mostly playing the “game” this holiday break – sometimes it’s better to play it through and tire of it (eventually), though this does mean no story updates from me.

Whoops! I’m pretty sure that this should not be the case, but hang tight @BronxWench will be online (hopefully) a little later, and she can check the records since I don’t have access to those. But as far as I can see there’s been no action by the staff that would cause your profile to be removed. I’m tagging @DemonGoddess and @manta2g here too, so they can check on the Archive, in case there’s been another attack. I really hope we’ll have this sorted very soon for you. Thank you for the clarification I just wanted to be proactive since you mentioned a copy, not meant to be an accusation of any sort. It does happen that people offer saved copies, and we do try to make sure that doesn’t happen. Best of luck in your search. And please, if anyone does know this story and what happened to it, let this user know. You should always keep your stories as files on your computer. I use Word, simply because it’s what I’m used to.

I’m too busy with writing my master’s, studying and modding to write much, and I never write fan fiction for stuff that I don’t know or watch myself.

The Archives are still in read only mode, so it’s not possible for new users to register at this point. But since an Archive profile is a requirement for forum registration, perhaps that’s causing you to be unable to sign up for the forum. But I’m not sure, since Melrick is in charge of forum registrations. Willow Darkling, forum moderator.

You can look at all of the Archives without an account. You just can’t review stories in most cases, without an account. But no, registration is not working, since the Archives are still in read only mode. Our Admin and Coder have both been ridiculously busy with their day jobs, so the time they’ve had to go through our code has been limited, unfortunately. But they are working on it.
